First timers here and had a great experience. Got seated right away (Covid quarantine days) and we had already seen others on yelp rave about the blackberry margarita. We noticed on the specials board that they were offering a cucumber margarita (which is a special, PLEASE ADD IT TO THE PERMANENT MENU!!) so we got one of each. They were so good!! The blackberry had a sugar rim and the cucumber had a salt rim. I'm a sweet girl myself so on round 2 I ordered sugar rim on cucumber but then I realized I should've asked for a tajin rim. Either way, the margaritas here are delicious. They do bring out warm tortilla chips, regrows black beans with Cotija and tomatillo salsa verde to munch on in the meanwhile. I ordered enchiladas de al pastor, one red and one green salsa. I usually prefer green salsa but the red was soooo good! It comes with tomatillo rice and whole black beans. My boyfriend ordered the tacos mixtos, which is one al pastor, one chicken and one carne asada. He said all of them were delicious. The meats were so flavorful!! The service was great. Our waitress was great with recommendations and we got checked on by all the staff not just the one who took our order. Love that. Would definitely return soon! read more

Staff are always friendly, the restaurant is always clean, we're a weekly customer and enjoy every meal they have. The salsa does randomly change from mild to spicy but overall the salsa and bean dip that comes with the chips are always a nice addition to the meals to come. I'm basing this review on the molcajete, shrimp ceviche, and mix drinks. First off their mix drinks had a good amount of alcohol they weren't stingy. Second the ceviche wasn't for say authentic Mexican but it was delicious, lastly the molcajete was AMAZING. They got it right. I will definitely return for that. read more

First time dining here the location is great, food was great. I had the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and my daughter had " Jesses favorite ". My daughter seems to like it, she ate the whole thing. I like the type of rice they used and black beans was delicious. We also had the blackberry margaritas and chocolate flan for dessert. Our server was very helpful, checked on us a couple of times. The owners was tentative and care about their customers. We requested to be seated outside by the patio, and others customers were seating under the sun. Carlos opened the big umbrella to blocked off the sun shining directly onto our faces. Back in 2020 I had better experiences at this place. Somehow it has gone downhills pretty quickly! The food was very bland this time, the chicken in my burrito was not fresh, but what made it worse was the woman who brought my food was awfully rude. Found this small spot just west of the 99. Fantastic atmosphere and the staff....lemme say this, they are SUPER ATTENTIVE. Food was delicious. So much so that I was half through my meal before I realized it so no pics. Drinks are on point but the service cannot be overstated. Every single person walks by and makes sure we do not need anything else and our glasses never go empty. This will become a mainstay by us on the regular. Its high-end mex, like fresh vegetables, diced fruit including mangos I think were in my amazing Shrimp Cocktail. Food was hot, service was fast, and the flavorings were rich, not salty. Recently I was visiting my niece for her birthday we both wanted Mexican food so we came to Primos. What a huge disappointment the salsa tasted like it came from jar . When our order came the rice & beans were cold as if they had just come out of the fridge. The chorizo wasn't cook all which I informed our server of. Her only response was oh. OK. So I've eaten here twice. First time I had shrimp tacos and my dining partner had the chicken milanesa. The tacos were very good. The milanesa, however, basically breaded and fried chicken breast was was overcooked,dry dry and difficult to cut with a knife. Not good. I would have sent it back. The second time I had quesadillas and, frankly, didn't like them. They are very thick and bready corn tortillas which overwhelmed everything else. Just not that tasty. I did taste the stuffed pepper (pasilla) and it was very good. Bottom line so far: This place gives you lots of food. Order a la carte unless you have a big appetite. The beans and rice alone will fill you up. The food is not at all traditional so if you are looking for authentic taqueria or Mexican fare, this place will disappoint. If your expecting the typical heavy sauce, refried beans and rice you probably won't like it, but if your for great Mexican food with a twist on healthy alternatives, this is the place. The Carne Asada tacos are awesome!! The flauta's are also a great choice. I have been reading other reviews on the molcajete, so I thought I would give it a try. I went with the chicken and it was unbelievable. The dish was bubbling hot from start to finish and the mixture of verde sauce with cheese was simply the bomb. Served with two grilled jalapeños, side of rice and black beans and choice of flour or corn tortillas. At $24, it's not the cheapest thing on the menu, but we split this between two and still had a hard time finishing it! Highly recommend this place !!! read more

The food is always really good, the service never is. There are always moments of good service, but we've never gone and had an entire meal where we felt that we were taken care of. There have been a number of times where there has been an issue with either the food or a drink, (or the service) and the owner has come over and done absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. (we waited for 50 minutes for a dessert one time.) I feel like they do not understand the meaning of customer service or else there would have been changes made over the course of the past couple of years. The location is great and we keep going back, hoping that we will get a good experience, it is unfortunate that we haven't. We loved Primos up until recently. Lately the food has not been great. Lacking flavor and very greasy. I've tried different dishes with hopes for improvement. They all lacked flavor. The last one was the fish tacos. The fish has zero seasoning and tasted very fishy. I didn't eat any of it. The waiter never even asked if everything was ok. Usually when a customer isn't eating their meal, something off. Also every time I order tacos the tortillas are saturated in grease. They are street taco style tacos so I don't understand why there's so much grease on them. The food is very expensive so I expect much better. Lately the only thing edible I have had there is the shrimp cocktail. It makes me sad because we were always excited to eat there. It always takes a really long time for someone to bring the check and to bring back our credit card. Once we finish the meal we usually sit there for an additional 20-30 mins just trying to pay. We have dined at Primos twice in the past week. Our first time the food was good. My husband ordered an asada burrito and I had the fried burrito. The service was just mediocre. We had ice tea which was served in very small glasses and the menu states you only get 2 refills. When I asked for sugar the server brought me one single packet of sugar! Our second trip last night was not a good experience. We did not get our drink order until after our meal came and after we asked for them a third time. My husband had the asada flautas. They were greasy and the filling was dry and did not taste good. I had the asada Primos bowl and the asada meat was horrible and I barely ate any of it. When I asked for a side of tortillas the server paused and reluctantly said ok. We left disappointed and still hungry. read more
