Primos Restaurant & Tequila Bar - Great Food & Service! I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and my wife and I finally decided to go for dinner. When we arrived (around 5:30 pm), the parking lot was pretty full, but there weren't many people waiting. We were quoted a 30-minute wait, which was no problem, but we were pleasantly surprised to be seated in about 10 minutes. Right away, we were greeted with ice-cold water (without having to ask), along with chips, green salsa (not spicy but great flavor), and black refried beans. We ordered cocktails-- I had a Tequila Old Fashioned, and my wife had a Tequila Mule. Both were very tasty and well-made. For dinner, I ordered the Carnitas Dinner, which came with green rice, whole black beans served in a fried flour tortilla bowl, and a side of pico de gallo. The only thing missing was a side of guacamole, but it wasn't a deal breaker. The food arrived quickly, everything was hot, and the flavors were delicious. The flour tortillas seemed homemade--two large, soft tortillas that complemented the meal perfectly. My wife ordered three Pastor Tacos, which also came with the same rice and beans. She really enjoyed her meal as well. For dessert, we shared the churros, which came with caramel and chocolate dipping sauces. They were served hot and fresh--definitely a great way to end the meal! Plenty of seating, with chairs around the bar. Several TV's showing current sporting events. Overall, the service was great, the food was delicious, and we'll definitely be back!

We had a very delightful experience at Primos. Excellent and delicious food choices. The service was top notch. It is a casual and relax atmosphere. The watermelon margaritas presentation alone is exquisite. It has just the right balance of Tequila and juice with slices of watermelon, too. The food can be easily shared or be prepared to have leftovers.

Wow! Finally found a great date night spot! We came here on a whim because the other Mexican restaurant we wanted to dine at was super busy on a Friday night. There was no wait here but a good amount of people. Service was great. Upon being seated, you are served complimentary house made tortilla chips, salsa and bean dip. We ordered one our favs, molcajete with shrimp. This can easily feed two people. Super good! Their drinks are also great. My husband got a pina colada and a watermelon paloma for me. I would love to try their watermelon margarita when we return.

First time here, my sister always raves about this restaurant and I see why. The food and service were phenomenal with fair prices. First round of drinks we had were the Cadillac margaritas, made fresh and strong we also started with the queso fundido appetizer it was amazing. After asking a few questions, our server helped me decide on the Jessie's Favorite - it is now my favorite as well. My boyfriend had the fried burrito which was packed with flavor. We finished the evening with a Watermelon Paloma & a regular Paloma - so good! I wish I would have gotten our servers name she was kind, attentive and helpful.

This area in Ripon has some good restaurant options. I was pleasantly surprised by how good Primos was in my most recent visit. The customer service is also top tier and I had a great experience because of how friendly the staff are. The ambiance is also comfortable and spacious. Plenty of parking outside as well. The food is also great. What my table ordered: - Quesadilla Sincronizadas w/ Chicken ($16) - Salmon Primos Specialty Plate ($24) You also get complimentary chips and salsa as well as a type of black bean dip. The chips were actually amazing and tasted very fresh. They were warm and crispy. The green salsa was delicious, but also not very spicy. The bean dip sprinkled with a little bit of cheese got cleaned out very quickly. It was a 10/10. The staff was also very attentive and would ask if my table needed refills for chips which was really nice. I personally got the quesadillas with chicken and boy I definitely cannot finish them in one sitting. The value for the amount of food you get is pretty good. The chicken is really tender and moist and the quesadilla was loaded with cheese. They use some really good tortillas. I was a fan. I tried a bite of the salmon and it was moist and flavorful. I was overall really pleased with my experience at Primos and I would be happy to come again. The service to the quality of the food makes this an easy restaurant to recommend especially considering Ripon doesn't have a ton of options.

We drive from Oakdale to come here! So good! Love the bean dip. My go to is "Jessie's Favorite" -- you'll want to drink the green poblano garlicky sauce! My husband always gets the super burrito. Come here & enjoy! Great staff & super clean restaurant.

One of the best Mexican Restaurant/Tequila Bars in the Central Valley. Have NEVER been disappointed with their food or service. Great place to eat. If you like Tequila, order the Tequila flight board so you can sample some smooth to smoky & smooth Tequila. Not into a straight shot, NO PROBLEM! Try one of their signature margaritas! They are DELISH! They also have a full bar so pick your poison! Oh, wait? You just wanted food! They've got you covered! Chefs kiss delish! Oh! And orders to go if you want to dine at home. Service is great, atmosphere is wonderful! They also have banquet rooms you can book for large parties! So what are you waiting for! Bring your bestie and share a pitcher of good speciality margarita spirits and a good authentic meal.

Went here yesterday for my Sisters bday. Upon walking in I noticed there was a lot of seating. They have an outside area too. There's also a bar area and multiple tvs. They start you off with chips and salsa. They give you a bean too. The salsa was pretty good. It was a green salsa and wasn't spicy at all. The been dip was good. Eventually Tomas came over and took our order. He was a really good server. He was on top of everything. I ended up getting the Pastor Con Pina. It was three tacos with pastor, grilled pineapple and onions and cilantro. Came with rice and black beans. Very delicious. Pastor was nice and seasoned. The onions and pineapple gave it that extra touch. The rice was good but I didn't really care for the beans. It came with a red salsa but I preferred the green one. Very good meal. If ever out this way again I'd go back.

An oasis when journeying through the Central Valley! Ripon should be so lucky to have such a great dining establishment. 1. Chips and salsa with the refried black beans is off the hook. Delicious, crispy and those beans...wow! 2. I had two delicious cocktails, both crafted for me off-menu by the bartender/server. She's very talented and super nice! 3. My lunch comprised three al pastor tacos on handmade tortillas with all the fixins'. Juicy, mouthwatering and delicious and I had leftovers! I was extremely pleased with my experience at Primos and I'd go out of my way off CA-99 to return to this gem in Ripon.

We stopped in on a Monday night and it was half full. There aren't many nice restaurants open on a Monday, so this was a great option. This was my first time in and it was pretty spacious inside with a bar offering. I had a mixed cocktail, I don't recall the name... something laundry- and it was delicious. We then ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp, and it was so delicious as was everything else that followed. We ordered fish tacos and a wet burrito and everything hit the spot. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some good Mexican food. It is not the most "authentic", but Still very tasty! Will be back

First time trying this restaurant since moving to Ripon. Pretty good and clean food. We ordered pick up. Cilantro rice was good. I'm used to refried beans and Spanish rice so this was a twist. I enjoyed the fish tacos but expected them to be a little bigger and more fish. Mango salsa on top with sauce is good. I would try this place again. read more

We had a small retirement dinner with about 20 people in the separate room last Friday Night. We were very pleased with the care and attention provided by Carlos (who worked with me on the specifics of the buffet meal) and Tomas (who was in charge of serving us on the specific night). The food was outstanding and all requests went according to plan. We had a Fajita Bar with three different meats, tortillas, vegetables, rice, black beans, sour cream, pico de gallo, and scrumptious guacamole. This was in addition to the chips, salsa and bean dip at each table. The meal also included soft drinks and/or coffee. The price was reasonable and everyone was well satisfied. The service was terrific. They let us decorate early . All in all, a memorable and fun evening. I would highly recommend them for group gatherings of up to 30 people. read more

Terrible. Walked in, 7 people standng around and we are the first to say hi. Decorations are ok. The bar looked cool. Chips and salsa were bland. Green salsa reminds me of Pace. Both our dishes were flavorless. I had the bacon wrapped burrito, smells good but no flavor. Ordered a top shelf margarita which was about as basic as it can get. No refried beans, come on. And this is a tequila bar, where is the tequila menu?? I left a big tip because the family and server was nice. I never write negative reviews, you need to hear it. Please take this review too heart. Ill give you another try in 30 days. read more

This place was delicious and so nice inside! Staff is friendly and helpful! I had the tacos! Had all three meats! Its delicious traditional Mexican food but with a healthy refreshing taste. If you're looking for authentic home cooked Mexican food then you should probably go somewhere else. I was super excited to go to this place then was equally disappointed when I got there. The salsa was blah. The chips are store bought. The drinks are over priced. There isn't even a tequila menu! I seriously thought this was supposed be a tequila bar. The food has zero flavor. The carne asada literally tasted like it was boiled. My daughter ordered 2 plain tacos as she does at every other restaurant we go to and she gagged. read more

Go here, the service is amazing the FOOD IS INCREDIBLE. Such a fresh and flavorful spin on mexican food, it was delicious. Everything is super affordable so try everything. We had the Ceviche and pork and pineapple tacos. SUPER fresh and flavorful. I just went on Saturday and have been thinking about it everyday since. Its awesome!!!!!! read more

The husband and I came in 3/15/20 as a last minute lunch. It was amazing and our server, Diego, was so nice. We asked him recommendations and he was absolutely right about the choice we made. Food was amazing. Stopped by this place for the first time. Service was great nice environment clean. I had michelada it was really good. Salsa chips and beans were good. I didn't like the salsa because temperature of the salsa was hot. I prefer cold salsa. I had carne asada plate well done. It was really good. Nice and juice with a lot of flavor. This is my second yelp review as I only feel obligated after a bad experience. I'll start off with the bad. Service needs attention - place was dead an hour before closing on a Saturday night and it still took 20 minutes to get a drink and they forgot one drink order. While waiting we looked over at the bar and the bartenders were drinking. Drinks were soft. Green salsa was sour and I recommend using red salsa with chips. Ordered an appetizer and after 15 min we got the bill instead. I understand it was 30 min before closing but we weren't even finished with our drinks when the bill came and we planned to order more. For that, I can't comment on the food. The good. Place has potential. Aesthetically pleasing and the bar is done well. I approached the waiter with the premature bill and informed him I wanted one more drink to be added since the first one was light. The drink came quickly and it was better than expected. He was apologetic and courteous. Much appreciated. read more

My wife and I add a fantastic dinner at the new restaurant in Ripon called Primos. It was so busy we had to wait 45 minutes to get in but it was well worth it. Being a new restaurant it took a little while to get our food but again well worth it. While you're waiting make sure you have their great margaritas, especially the blackberry margarita. All of the food and drinks are made from scratch ( not like most Mexican food restaurants) so it will take a little longer to get your food because of that alone. But again well worth it. My wife and I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

My husband and I really enjoyed the molcajete and shrimp cocktail here. We also had the skinny and Cadillac margaritas. The service was quick and efficient. The ambiance was enjoyable. What a refreshing twist on your typical Mexican cuisine. My tostada salad was delicious, fresh, and loaded with roasted vegetables. Don't plan on eating here if you prefer the more traditional, heavy filling food. That doesn't mean they don't have plates you'd enjoy... my son loved his carnitas tacos... However, if you want to try a delicious change and a refreshing blackberry margarita, head on over. The servers were quite attentive and the owner was outside making his customers as comfy as possible. Hustle and goodness all at the same time. Can't wait to go back! read more

This place was great! The fried burrito was really good and I had to asked for a more spicier salsa because the one that was given was not that great. It's a nice area and there are great seatings. I had to take off 1 star because if you are not from the area or look apart, you can tell there are some judgements. read more

To me the food tasted a little bland. I gave a two star because I really liked the enchiladas but my husband had the tacos and he hated them. He couldn't even finish his meal because it wasn't all that great. I really wish we could have sat down and eaten in the restaurant but due to COVID we couldn't. I am willing to give this place another shot when I am able to sit down and eat in the restaurant. read more

I have been wanting to try this place for along time now and finally decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed in the slightest! Service and atmosphere were great. When seated, we were greeted instantly with waters and chips. The guacamole was very good. I got the tacos de cameron and they were delicious. My partner got the el pastor Taco-dillas which were delicious as well. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Today was my first time here and the service was great and so was the food. I had the shrimp with garlic and boy it was great!!!! I can taste the garlic and butter. My hubby had the chicken fajita plate and he didn't even need to add salt or pepper because it was seasoned to perfection. We will be coming back for sure. Soon!!!! read more

We just went to Primo's for dinner in between games at Mistlin Sports Park. We mentioned we were in between games and on a little bit of a time crunch. We were shocked how quickly they had our food out to the table! Everything was so fresh and delicious! We all are returning to the fields happy and full and ready to watch/play some more baseball. We're sad we don't live in the area but any time we're here for games...this will be our go-to-spot! P.S. Our server, Reanna, was perfection! read more

I've been here a few times now and am very impressed. The service has been great and I like that it is different than the other Mexican restaurants in ripon. All of the food I've tried has been really good! The nachos with pastor was delicious! My husband got the carne asada and really enjoyed it as well. My husband and I stopped by on Sunday for dinner. The hostess and servers were amazing. Great customer service. Weekdays are definitely not a problem, but Friday and Saturday nights can be fairly busy. Here is what I found disgusting: if you find yourself to be the designated driver or a non-drinker, the soda gun or bar gun that dispenses the different sodas & water needs to be thoroughly cleaned or changed out. The soda and water taste like it was not just unfiltered, but as if the filter hasn't been changed out in ten years. To me, the water was not consumable at all. This not only tastes bad, but can get people sick also. Aside from that, if you're just looking to get a drink or two at a bar, The Inn will get it done.

So so glad we came here. We were at a sporting event at the soccer complex and really didn't know any places except for the fast food joints by the highway. Thank GOD Yelp got us to Primos. Location wise it's really close to Mistlin Sports Park. It looks like a higher end small plaza that just appears in the middle of nowhere. It was a Sunday so there were lots of people there from church, coming to watch football and from the sports park. The greeter was super friendly and had us wait just about 10 mins to get our party of 5 seated. Our table was big with two huge chip baskets and both a bean dip and a salsa for each basket. Our waitress Celeste was AWESOME. Friendly, fast, attentive and made some great suggestions. Water glass and soda was always filled. Every plate we ordered was super tasty. Very well plated too. And BIG servings. The highlite was the chile rellano w green sauce that Celeste suggested. Never had anything so tasty as it was filled with ground beef and rice with this creamy sauce. The place was very lively with at least 10 TV's playing a Sunday football game. There's a cool bar too. And it looked like they have a big party room. Primo's was the first recommendation we received when we first moved to Ripon 3 years ago. And it took us nearly 2.5 years to go and try it. Turns out that was 2.5 years too long. This place is well worth it for not just the food, which is fantastic, but also the amazing friendly service. They make you feel really welcomed when you're eating there. In regards to the food, my fam and I can't get enough of the bean dip that comes with the chips. Also the elite corn bowl appetizer is addictive. The portions for pretty much every dish I've seen I will satisfy all but the biggest competitive eaters. I especially enjoyed their tacos, wet burritos and mixed grill platters. I'd like to expand to their fish and seafood options next visit, which I hope will be soon. read more
