We discussed with the receptionist how to groom our 9-year old Cairn Terrier and even showed photos of her after a quality grooming. The oral contract was accepted by both parties. When we arrived to pick up our Cairn we were appalled and angered by the poor grooming she received. 1) Non Cairn look around her head and too short 2) Choppy overall trimming 3) Muzzle fur cut in the wrong manner for a Cairn 4) Toe nails were not shortened only smoothed over with a Dremel 5) Dull finish to her coat which usually reveals a poor, rush job of shampooing The groomer (Irene) was a new hire and we were told she had over 20-years experience. When we were pointing out all these discrepancies another groomer (Kelly) came out to the lobby and attempted to fix the overall look of our Cairn's face but the damage was done. The receptionist refused to not charge our $47 charge only reduce it to $45. $45 was the original quote anyway but was pumped up to $47 somehow. We called the owner (Donna) of Grand Grooming the next day, informed her of the events and asked for a full refund. She said no and refused to budge. She wasn't even sympathetic only looked at the bottom line... "I've already paid my groomer and I will be losing money if I refund you, besides people who complain and ask for a refund only want a free grooming in the first place." Hmmm She also said that all the requirements were met (shampoo-cut-dry) and her staff did their job, we responded that the oral contract was for a Cairn Terrier styled cut and that was not accomplished. My dog ended up with a scratched cornea from the clippers used to groom him with. If the owner had reacted different, not so freakin defensive about it, or followed up to see if he was ok i might feel differently. She is no professional, she is rude when things don't go well. I have been using Grand Grooming since 2003. I have always had an excellent experience. My dogs go every month. The cut is always great. I change the type of cut according to the seasons. They always keep up with my change requests. I had older dogs that were fear based. They always took extra care with him. They are booked during the winter months. It may take a few days to get in. After April, it's easy to get an appointment. The wash Goddess Angie is the BEST. Our dogs spend a good amount of time in Angie's care. She is so good with the dogs and is excellent at her job. I can speak first hand that the owner Donna, is honest, ethical and professional. My new rescue dog is groomed here. I would never take him anywhere else. read more

I dropped my little girl off today for her regular grooming. When her groomer came out to greet her, she was all over her, a happy dog. I realized that at Grand Grooming the groomers and their pet clients have a very special bond. The staff is friendly and professional. You never have to wait more than a few days for an appointment. Went there the first time and found no posted prices. I asked how much to groom my dog and was told $65 to $75. So I made an appointment with Taylor. When I showed up for the appointment taylor told me her "Base doodle price is $80 and up". So it seems the price depends upon their perception of the customer's affluence. And taylor just wanted to do a partial groom; the stuff we could do at home for free. So I pressed for a full grooming. Taylor got testy and asked how much I wanted cut off. I told her as a professional I would like her to "tidy him up". She again demanded to know how much to cutoff. So I took my dog and left. read more

I would never leave my beautiful dog to Grand Grooming in Sun City West again. None of my simple requests were even close to what I asked, far from it. The fur around my dog's head was supposed to be full and rounded, it was not. Her ears had absolutely no fur, it was all shaved off. I don't know what went through the groomer's mind. Of course you don't have to have a license to be a groomer. I believe that I was lied to by this shop when the lady at the desk told me that Irene has over 20 years of grooming experience. I learned the hard way not to trust Grand Grooming. The entire grooming was unbalanced through out my dog's body. Her toenails were not clipped, only slightly sanded to make it look like they were cut, taking a short cut! My dog's feet were not cleaned and the pad tufts of fur were not removed. There was not a transition of clipping her fur from her neck, only an abrupt short to long clipping was done. It's as if the groomer took the clipper and worked around the collar. It's so noticeable, I've never have seen such a thing like it before I usually groom my own dog, which I have for 9 years, but was unable this time due to a back injury, I made it explicitly clear about what I wanted to be done. I even showed a picture of my dog and was very specific how I wanted it to be done, they understood my instructions, it was very clear and they acknowledged it. However, the grooming was just the opposite, they definitely didn't listen Before I made the appointment I was told the grooming would be $45.00 however, for no reason, they charged me $47.00. They make you feel put on the spot and required to pay before seeing your pet. They won't refund you or to correct the problem. I let the owner, Donna, know of some of the disappointments but she told me personally that everyone who complains is trying to get a free grooming. She has very poor customer service. I had taken my Miniature poodle there once and never again. They gave my dog razor burn, so bad that she was rubbing her face in the ground for a week! After that I looked in what takes to become a groomer. Its funny we leave are best friends with these people that have no skills (The state does not require groomers to go to school or any formal training. The state only wants its tax). I happened upon Grand Grooming and when I went in to inquire about services, Jody, was very helpful. She was positive and outgoing and made me feel comfortable about leaving my fur baby (who has terrible separation anxiety) in their care. I made the appointment for when I needed it and was quoted a very fair and reasonable price. Brittany was the groomer and she did a great job, exactly as I asked. Brittany brought her to me and introduced herself and made sure I was happy with the cut. My fur baby is a Bichon but I don't give her the traditional Bichon cut and I was so pleased with how great she looked. Jody and Brittany are outstanding in customer service and so caring with the fur babies. I'm sad to see the negative reviews but feel they must have been resolved with the hiring of these two exceptional ladies. I highly recommend Grand Grooming for taking the best care of your fur babies and giving them a quality experience and great new look. read more

My dog got razor burn twice on his penis area! Had to go to the vet because of it!

We own a boxer. We had a bad experience at Petsmart, so we tried Grand Grooming about a year ago. We keep going back because they do a great job on our dog's nails, they are reasonably priced, and the staff is very friendly. They treat our dog with respect. read more

Took my American Water Spaniel to them and instructed them (reminded them) on how to cut his tail. This was no more than 45 minutes before he got scalped. They shaved his tail to where it looks like a rat tail!!! Had been going to them for 4 years. NO MORE! I don't know if it's turned over or if they just don't care, but they will NEVER get my pup again. Avoid if you want them to look like they are supposed to look. read more

I am new here and saw a great cut on a cute little dog and ask where she got him groomed. I took my Pom there and am very satisfied. They did a great job and it did not take all day. I am taking my 2nd Pom there asap. I am so happy to find a place that does such a good job on my first try. read more
