So you can imagine my surprise when I saw a huge building with their branding. The interior is spacious, with multiple tables for tastings, each with its own bartender. There are far more options to taste than you can try in one sitting, but your server will help you narrow it down to 4. I liked to loved everything I had. They even had some weird options that I was tempted to try but I went for a more traditional flight (although I definitely want to return for the coffee whisky). The only option I wasn't in love with was the smokehouse, but that's just a personal preference. After my tasting I learned they were doing some kind of slushys as well, so I got one of those. I thought it was a very fun, informative experience. I'll also have to try the "Proof" kitchen as well.

I think he is one of the best home brewers I've tried yet. There is no funny after taste to his beers. He started making his own alcohol and is just waiting for the all ducks to get in a row so he can sell it. He did make his own white and red wines and I have to say his White wine rates up there as one of the BEST Chardonnays I have EVER had- he somehow got the best of oak and steel barrels in this formula. Otherwise they sell some Rapidan Winery wines; good product, but, if its' not his, I'll stick with my Commissar and Toasted Marshmallow syrup. That's the other thing... who ever would have thought to add flavored syrups to brews!!!?? Genius. His ciders are also really great too. the Aloha is the best one. As for the food, its light fare, but man is it awesome. Amanda, Brad's wife and her mom kick out the best Pimento Cheese dip around! They also started doing charcuterie boards and have crafted some very creative ones at that. The ambiance is one a Vet can appreciate. It is a small building, but there is lots of land and outside seating as well. There is a fire pit and they have lawn games people can play while there. Dogs are welcome! And often they will do a Pup of the week and post it on their FB page. We love supporting Brad and Amanda and recommend it as the go to craft brewery when you come to the area. They work their butts off and often get help from Amanda's parents and their kids.

You really get to enjoy an immersive, interactive experience on the farm. There is something for everyone, from interactive gardens and live animals. The best for a cute little DIY wine tasting. You can bring your own charcuterie platters, which is what we did to go along with our tastings. They have tasting room called the Purple Wolf Vineyard where you can purchase your portable tastings, wine, beer and slushy flights . With so many positive reviews, how could we go wrong? They set us up in the cutest little private cottage and we're so sweet. Unfortunately that's where the charm begins and ends. We got five different wines to try. The bubbly was good but the rest were awful. No one in our group of ten found them even remotely drinkable. The one red was so acidic, my friend was up until 4:00am with an upset stomach from the acid burn. It's incredibly disappointing how bad the wines are given how cute the space is and how friendly the staff is. We went back to our Airbnb and opened our own bottles afterwards to cleanse our palattes.

Trust me. The "Community" Vidal Blanc is easily one of the best bottles of white that has ever blessed my palate. Crisp, refreshing, full of bright, summery flavors but not too sweet... it's practically begging to be paired with a delicious plate of seafood (preferably one cooked with butter and lots of garlic). This is a great sipping wine, and an even better one to pair with dinner. The "Free Spirit" rose is another great sipping wine. If a plain glass of wine is not your thing, no worries. They also offer a number of wine-based cocktails, as well. In partnership with nearby businesses, the winery offers a limited variety of snacks including charcuterie boards, flatbreads, cake flights, as well as trail mix and popcorn available at the bar. I got the Smith Island Cake flight. While it's definitely not authentic Smith Island Cake, it's good to curb a raging sweet tooth. Speaking of partnerships, the winery also offers products from other local small businesses for sale: spices, body care products, jewelry and other items... So you can sip and shop. A few small areas of improvement I would recommend. -More, bigger and better signage...especially on the street. I was driving all around the area, then roaming all over Savage Mill Shopping Center before I finally found my way. -Provide more parking details, landmarks and directions on the website. (I ended up parking in a nearby neighborhood, only to find that there was a free parking lot available). -Expand snack offerings... perhaps sell individually packaged snacks from local businesses for purchase within the winery. -Consider adding a flight that will allow patrons to try all of the wines available. The interior of the main building was very simple and "bare bones" but had a homely charm to it and the lovely woman who served our flights was such a gentle, warm person who complemented the peacefulness of the place! My friend and I ended up buying our own bottles of wine and my fiance absolutely loved the Barren Ridge's Touriga wine that I got for him! Will definitely be back to bring him the next time around! Just a great place to take a step back and enjoy some wine!
