This is a wonderful cafe, my second most-visited cafe in Lancaster City. I absolutely love the fact that they're open late at night, allowing me to write well into the evening. The food & coffee is also great, though I wish they kept certain items on their menus more than a few months at a time. Overall I'd give them 4 stars. It's crowded as hell all the time around lunch and it takes them *forever* to get you your food. Some might say "it's part of the charm of a local business," but I have seen many other local joints serve up food and drink fast and maintain their charm. I had two meetings in Lancaster one weekend and one of them suggested this place to meet up in. I was here for a long time that day and I was glad to be. The first thing that I noticed as I walked in the door was the smell of coffee - GOOD coffee. I home-roast my own so I'm pretty particular on what constitutes "good" coffee and I could honestly tell just from one whiff that it was going to be good. (It was.) If I wanted some fluffy coffee drink I wouldn't come here, it probably does take a while, but for a very good cup of auto-drip coffee it's perfect. The carafes didn't impart any old-funk coffee flavor just fresh good coffee. The second thing that I noticed was that (as another reviewer said) it was bigger than I expected it to be when I pulled the door back. Yes, it was crowded. I was able to get a table pretty easily though. And it was just noisy enough that we could talk at full volume (not yell) and not feel like we were disturbing some cranky nursing student or something. Now, the two things that make this a 4-star rather than a 5: * They're pretty crabby about the clean-up after yourself thing. I watched the cashier/barista talk down to a customer who was leaving without putting her dishes away. Now, she had been perfectly friendly to everyone else who she had interacted with and the customer was being a bit ignorant, but condescension from someone at a restaurant like this is always a turn off. * I'd love to see them add the option of getting coffee using the Clever Coffee Drippers that they sell there (a great sign of good coffee as well). Until I tasted it I was disappointed that auto-drip seemed to be the only option. Ultimately, good, I'd definitely go back. read more

This is a pretty good spot, snack in the middle of everything going on in downtown Lancaster! The coffee is pretty darn good- if you drink in-house, there are free refills for regular coffee- and staff are friendly! Though there's lots of seating, it's often very crowded (probably because of its location), and when it's busy, the area leading up to the line gets really cramped. But they also do have almond milk if people want non-dairy options, which is good to note! read more

Breakfast fit for a prince. But actually, the breakfast burritos from Prince St Cafe were surprising: very tasty, filling, and a nice balance of hearty, savory, greasy, and light. The wait time was a bit longer than I would've liked as I needed to run everything back to my coworkers, but the place was packed and understandably busy. For drinks, I grabbed the London Fog specialty. I should've let the tea steep a bit longer because it could've been more fragrant, although I did decide to ice it after a few sips, which diluted it a bit more. We stopped in before Central Market for a latte which was great, and then came back for lunch after. The latte was great and they had a good variety of syrups. For lunch, we had two soups and a sandwich for two of us. They accommodated my special bread request for my sandwich (I subbed a pretzel roll for the croissant on my Autumn Turkey), and it was delicious. We also enjoyed the Chicken Corn Chowder. I saw some breakfast sandwiches go by, and I wished I had ordered one. They looked awesome. The prices were very reasonable, and we would definitely go back if we were in the area again. A great coffee shop. There's a lot of space, it feels friendly and social, and there are big couches, ergonomic chairs, dark colors, bright lights, and high ceilings. Much more welcoming and less creepy than Square One, its primary competitor. There are some cool people here... just sometimes it is filled with weird suburban people who embrace this block of town as their little trendy urban hangout. And it is consequently hard to get a seat some times. Service for anything other than a cup of coffee or a pot of tea is abominably slow for a coffee shop, but I never stay for less than half an hour or so, so this doesn't really matter. The food offerings are not wonderful, but they're not bad, either, just a little pricey for us cheap folks. Drink offerings, both tea, coffee, and other, are wonderful. Cakes are pretty expensive but generally good. Best deals are irrefutably the endless mug of coffee ($1.78), the endless cup of iced coffee (something around $1.78), or, if you like cereal a whole lot, the endless bowl of cereal ($3.50). read more

This is a coffee lovers coffee shop. Well roasted, fresh beans offered by chemex, aeropress or pour over. Just tell the worker at the register what you would like. You can see what beans they have at the moment, and their unique qualities listed on the kerafs to the right of the till. The atmosphere is casual and the restaraunt draws a real hipster crowd. I have traveled to Lancaster twice now and each time I have come to this cafe. Overall, it is a friendly place with a relaxing atmosphere. The people that work here are friendly and nice. The service is great. On each of my visits I have had the Southwest breakfast burrito and a vanilla latte. Each time these have been delicious. I usually bring work here and connect to the WiFi. I noticed a lot of these reviews were based on things that the cafe itself has no control over, like clientel and lines. Ok, maybe they have A LITTLE control over lines, but 15 people in line for one cash register in a place where people often order whole meals is going to get messy. My suggestion is, don't come here if you don't like crowds. If the crowds bother you, then go to chestnut hill, the coffee is better there anyway. But, This place is def a good place too. Eh. It really depends on when you come here. If it is, say, a weekday afternoon, you get good service, good coffee and fast wifi. If it's in the evening, you get all of that..except for the wifi. This may be more important to me than it is to others, but I go to coffeehouses with my number one reason being that I need good internet so I can do work. Love the atmosphere here, but I'm probably going to be branching out and trying other spots in town. I LOVE this place. I really like the chicken quesadilla and the London Fog (earl grey with steamed milk flavored with vanilla syrup). I haven't had many of the pastries offered here because I'm always so full from the other food/drink, but it all looks wildly tasty. The cinnamon bun is good. I want to try some of their scones or pie eventually. There is a really nice atmosphere at this cafe. The lighting and furniture is really well thought out. There are always many students and friends hanging out, and also families. It is a good place to get some work done or to just chill out. The staff is always friendly. My husband lost his wallet and retraced his steps back to Prince Street Cafe to check and see if it was there, no such luck at first. I've visited this cafe only once. I liked it except for the extremely slow service (we only ordered 2 drinks). The coffee smoothie was really good. The looseleaf Phoenix tea, although good tasting, was brewed far too hot for an oolong blend. This is often the case with many coffee shops brewing tea. The cafe has a nice vibe. read more
