the green tea mille crepe was a solid 9/10. it had a perfect, subtle sweetness and matcha flavor and also felt very light. the only problem with it was that there was slightly too much cream. it needed about 20% less cream but that's it. would eat again and again. the fried cod was good but i would suggest more options for dips, like spicy mayo. the tartar sauce was a little bland. the takoyaki was also tasty but not the best i've had. the interior of the place is really beautiful and spacious, it's a nice vibe for chilling and catching up with a friend. the service was good and quick too. would come again, mostly for that crepe cake. read more

We came here on a Saturday afternoon. It was fairly crowded when we arrived. We waited about 10 minutes before we were seated, but afterwards, there was a long line out the door. We ordered the rose green milk tea and their potted lavender green milk tea. They served us quickly (~10 minutes), considering how packed the place was when we came. I love the presentation of both drinks, especially the potted lavender green milk tea. It was so cute! The drink was sitting underneath mint leaves, a layer of crumbled Oreo cookies, and another layer of white foam. The team itself is very refreshing. I tend to go for drinks that are not overly sweet, and this one was right in between. The rose green milk tea was quite good as well. The smell of the rose was quite strong. I didn't like this one as much as the potted lavender drink, but it was still a solid drink. Great place. Would come back to try their desserts someday. read more

This is an updated review for when indoor was allowed for very brief time. Due to a previous experience I had stayed away from this location for a very long time even though I eat around Flushing area quite often. The most recent experiences were during the pandemic. The seating capacity at time of my visit was 25% indoor for restaurants in NYC. Previously the options for most places was outdoor only with take out and / or delivery. I arrived on a somewhat busy weeknight and was told the wait would be at least 20 mins to a half hour. Since the seating capacity for the establishment was 25% and the table spacing requirements for at least 6 feet only certain tables were available. They were following protocol and the wait was not too bad. I submitted my contact info on the wait list and was told I would get a call at when a table opened up. In a little over 20 mins I was called and told a table would be opening up very soon. When I returned to the tea house my temperature was taken and I had to fill out contact tracing information (the protocol set in place when indoor dining was allowed again). For my first visit back, I went with a California Club Sandwich with extra Turkey (main ingredient is lobster), potted plant milk tea and the boba Crêpe cake. The sandwich was all right. The drink was made very well and has quite a unique presentation. Since it is in a glass you can see the layers and it looks like a potted plant since they use Oreo crumbs. The Crêpe cake was quite good and was the main reason for the visit. The actual crêpe cake is more like a créme brûlée and you get a side of tapioca balls (same that is used for the Taiwanese milk tea drinks) and condensed milk topping. You pour the milk over the cake and the pour the boba (tapioca over everything. On another visit I got the fruit waffle, toast and green tea crêpe cake. The menu items seem at a higher price point but are very good quality in both taste and presentation. Alex, who was also the host, was very on point whenever he is working. He always greets and checks in on all the customers to make sure everything's all right. If the wait is excessive he is very good about letting people know and calling back if your name is on the list. Whenever I have to go orders, they are always brought out in a timely manner. Some other employees gave a different experience.... I had gone back a couple of times after the initial visit and it was busier. One occasion there was a young lady who was prepping orders and told me that there was no eta on an open table and did not even offer to have me submit any contact information. Mind you, it was a little after 8p and last call was 930p. I asked if I could put my name on the waiting list and that is when she brought it out. I stayed nearby and saw a few people leave a short time after but received no call. I had to go back in and ask if there was a table. Another employee made a table ready for me. I felt as if they just wanted to not have anyone eat in during that visit. Indoor dining was banned again after my visits and this location still offers take out options. read more

They have appetizers, tea, dessert, and an option for food! I usually go their for dessert but I have ordered their buffalo wings (which were okay, nothing spectacular), their fries (love me some fries!!) and their fried squid tails. All pretty yummy! They have so many tea options but the one tea I always get is hot rose milk tea. I cannot tell you how much I love this drink. It makes me so sad when I pour the remaining tea out from the teapot :( I have also ordered the potted milk foam rose and potted milk foam matcha, both of which are really yummy. I usually don't get other foods but I recently tried their salad and it was DELISH. I got the crabmeat salad with the ginger dressing and it was perfect - not too heavy. Saving the best for last, DESSERT! Most of the desserts are really good. My go to will always be the Green Tea Mille Crepe cake! Absolutely LOVE! I really regret not going to SPOT dessert down the block. I've had great experiences here but it def went down hill. The green tea crepe cake had huge globs of I blended bitter matcha syrup in it. It was so sour and inedible we had to throw the slices away after 2 bites because it cannot be stomached. The ice cream was 3$ and was legit the size of a single tablespoon. I can only imagine how packed Prince Tea House must have been prior to Covid-19. The beautiful interior with its crazy tall ceiling is a perfect backdrop for anyone looking to take the best food photos. We came by after a hearty lunch and were in search of their boba mille crepe cake we heard so much about. While there, we also tried their purple yam mille crepe cake as well as some of their tea offerings. Both cakes looked amazing, but the actual creme filling between each layer did not carry too much flavor. That being said, the caramelized top, slightly salty foam, and soft boba pearls did elevate the boba mille crepe cake's flavor a bit. Prince's was such a pleasant escape from all the hustle and bustle of Flushing. It was also one of the very few places we went to in that area that actually focused on your overall experience. The decor was really nice and it felt very cozy inside without it being too stuffy. Their durian crepe cake was delicious and packed plenty of durian flavor without going over the top. If you can handle durian I highly recommend it! The crepe cake was texturally better than lady M IMO. Flavor wise I can't really compare since I didn't try the matcha nor the regular creme flavors. They use more of a whipped cream than pastry creme which I think worked better. It was luscious, light, and had just enough sweetness. The crepes also cut through more easily than a Lady M cake whose crepes can sometimes be somewhat dry at the outter edges of their cakes. At $9/ slice (which is comparable to Lady M's price)-- for what your getting, I thought it is a much better experience for the price. I'll have to come back and report on the other flavors! We also tried their purple yam soufflé which was good as well and was served with ice cream. The flavor was pretty subtle and the combination of the hot soufflé with the ice cream together was nice. Their tea was very reasonably priced at ~$8 per pot. I've been to places what charge more per person to share one pot which were extremely disappointing. They served the tea in a cute pot and tea warmer. I also got a matcha smoothie to-go and it tasted pretty good but unfortunately was very icy. Service was polite and nice, but a tad slow. It didn't seem like they had much staff there at the time we came and they got a bit busy which probably put them behind. It was a huge improvement from the service we received at many of the other establishments around Flushing though, where the little Asian ladies make you feel like you have rush and stuff our faces. I think I've already been here 3x in the past 5 months, and needless to say there's a reason why. Tea and desserts are always delicious, service is always friendly and on top of things, music is great, vibe is welcoming, cozy, elegant/beautiful - easily my favorite tea/dessert spot in Flushing. This time I tried the Rose milk tea and absolutely loved it. It had a very faint rose flavor, which at first I was skeptical about, but later immediately loved. I also tried the English Toffee Milk Tea and was ecstatic as it really tasted like toffee! When my friend suggested this place, I didn't realize this place has several locations until another friend ask which location. They can be found also in Astoria, Queens; Sunset Park and Bensonhurst, Brooklyn; and Upper East Side in Manhattan. This is literally located on Prince St (and 37 Ave). Very cute place. Depending on who is your server, he/she might have an abrupt attitude or let you decide while you figure it out. Either way, best to decide or have your questions ready before calling a server. Once the server appears and puts in the order, the teas come pretty quickly with a tea light dish to keep the tea warm while the food dishes took a bit longer. The tea arrives in flowery teapots that reminds me of a traditional English afternoon tea. We ordered 2 teas (fruity paradise - a bit sweet and forgot the name of this tea - a bit bitter). After mixing the two, it was perfect. One should note: once you finished the tea in the teapot, there was no free refills as there was no tea leaves/bag in the teapot. Food-wise we got the trio combo with fruit tart (mini -- bite-size - was expecting something a little bigger), cranberry creme brulee (the top is not caramelized by sugar so there is no crunch and more of cranberry jelly on top of cream -- wasn't up to our expectations) and pâte à choux (with green tea - pretty good - eat quick ice cream melting) and an order of sweet potatoes (which disappear quickly - always good when hot). I liked the overall presentation and being able to pour on the toppings myself. The cake and the boba both had great texture. I got a potted tea drink. Very gimmicky and not that good in my opinion. Showed up at Prince Tea House on a Wednesday night after dining at two of the local restaurants. Although slightly full, upon entering we knew that we were in the right place. Very cool vibe and decor. There's an extensive tea menu but we settled on a cappuccino and a fruit beverage. For dessert we chose to share the caramel crepe cake, durian crepe cake, and pate au choux with three ice cream flavors. The drinks were excellent, huge fruit flavor from the very fresh fruit. The durian crepe cake was a foodie adventure, savory flavor in a creamy dessert form certainly worth trying. The caramel crepe cake was the expected dessert, on the sweeter side than the durian with some depth of flavor. The pate au choux was texturally sublime, full of contrast between crisp pastry and smooth ice cream. Prince Tea House provides a perfect ending to a Flushing food outing. read more

My husband and I always stop by here for afternoon tea and snacks (i.e. cakes/desserts) whenever we're in Flushing! It's has a nice interior with velvety purple plush seating. A lot of people do their baby/bridal showers here, so sometimes it gets VERY rowdy (depending on the crowd). All the desserts we've tried: Matcha Green Tea Mille Crepe Cake: significantly better than the Lady M ones (those are WAY too sweet). You can actually taste the matcha here. However, my favorite green tea mille crepe cake still lies with Chika. Coffee Mille Crepe Cake: very coffee-esque in case you don't like tea and prefer coffee. Mango Mille Crepe Cake: this was just okay - I felt that the cake I had was not that fresh, or maybe mango wasn't in season. I prefer the mango cakes at Red Ribbon better. Coconut Panna Cotta: very light, creamy and coconut-y. There are coconut chunks within the panna cotta, which is made to the perfect stiff texture. Served with some mango on the plate. Tiramisu: I would not order this again - it's way too dry (especially when tiramisu should be lady fingers soaked in espresso - it shouldn't be this dry). Avoid ordering. Strawberry Shortcake Parfait: not blow your mind, but it's nice and creamy and not too sweet. I've ordered this 2-3 times! Last time I went, I really wanted to try one of their newer desserts, but they were ALL OUT :(. I forgot the name but can update when I'm back again. [I believe it was either the purple yam souffle or raspberry mousse chocolate cup]. Tea: I usually stick with an iced Jasmine Green tea - tend to dislike having milk in it. If you order a hot tea, they come in super cute matching tea set :). Savory Snacks: Salty Crispy Chicken: deliciously crispy and hot! I like having the sweet/spicy dipping sauce and it's a good break from all the sweet. Fried Squid Tails: I always like tails more than the actual body when it comes to calamari, but I think the Chicken tops the squid this time. P.S. I personally hate durian (it's an acquired taste kind of thing), so fair warning - if someone next to you orders the durian mille crepe, you'll be in for an unpleasant smell experience. Came on a weekday afternoon with a friend and the hostess told us she would seat us at a booth, but we'd have to move if a bigger party came in. We ended up not having to move but I didn't think her tone was as welcoming as it could have been. I loved the fruit toast and my friend enjoyed her matcha ice cream and lavender tea. Service was decent and we spent a pleasant couple of hours chatting. Here's where the experience got unpleasant. Their credit card minimum is $25. That's pretty obscene, I think, and since our order didn't reach that, we had to use cash. Cue the hostess stopping us as we walked out, telling us we didn't tip enough and demanding a bigger amount. (I don't think I need to tell you that tips in NYC are customary but not required.) Embarrassed, I pulled the last dollar I had in my wallet and handed it to her. I wasn't aware of the minimum when we walked in, which I will accept is my fault. For the record, I'm not in the business of purposely cheating waiters out of tips, and I probably would have tipped 20% if I'd been able to use my card. I was pretty shaken up about being reprimanded in the middle of the restaurant, so if that hostess was trying to teach me a lesson, it worked. I paid the price in more ways than one. 3.5 stars because the food and drinks were great and the prices were more reasonable than in Manhattan. You can customize the sweetness level of your tea. Many desserts to choose from - mini fruit tarts, crepe cakes, ice cream, etc. Tea and bites came out pretty quickly. I have been wanting to try this place for ages and finally had the chance to go recently on a Saturday afternoon with a friend. The windows were decorated with tinsel, bows and lights for the holiday season. Upon entering, the tea house was pleasant and warm with a little Christmas tree; beautiful displays along the walls of stars, paintings, potted plants; elegant chandeliers, lovely lighting. There was also a little area with fireplace and mantle. I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the purple plush booth seating I sat on was so comfortable. I decided to try of their special potted teas (which are only available cold... The place was nice and toasty so I didn't mind getting a cold drink). I asked the waitress whether she preferred rose or caramel and the answer was rose, so I ordered the Rose Green Tea. The tea was an absolutely delightful shade of pale pink and came with crumbled oreo cookies and a mint leaf on top. It was made to look like a potted plant and was so charming and adorable. The taste of the tea really showcased the rose flavor and was light, delicate, not too sweet. It was difficult to pick a dessert, even though the menu so gloriously displayed photos of each one. I was tempted by the Molten Lava Cake, but my friend chose that one so I went for the Mille Feuille. While the presentation was lovely, the image made it look better than it tasted. Mille Feuille is a dessert of French origin, consisting of puff pastry, cream custard, along with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries & blackberries and topped with whipped cream. To me, the dessert was kind of bland. The pastry was quite airy without much taste and same with the cream in between. It seemed that most of the flavor came from the fruit syrup on the plate. The Molten Lava Cake was absolutely delectable and I wish I had gotten that. The presentation of this was gorgeous, with the cake sprinkled with powdered sugar, the vanilla ice cream atop a bed of crispy bites, chocolate sauce with a raspberry on top and 4 dots of red berry syrup. The chocolate cake was extremely chocolate-y, rich with warm, creamy molten filing and just melted in my mouth. The service was decent, but the waitress didn't have good insight about what dessert to order. At least she was spot on about the tea. This is the place to take friends or a date to show them, that you're a classy person. The entire restaurant is so beautiful. I'll post pictures. There was a beautifully lit tree for Christmas. There's chandeliers, lights throughout the restaurant. It has such a cozy warm vibe. So I'm not a tea drinker. I'll drink tea at home once in a blue moon, but that's about it. This place has A LOT of tea drinks. I didn't know what to get and was just flipping through the menu. I asked the waitress to help me decide and she was a complete delight. She told me what drinks were very popular, her personal favorites and even broke down what was specifically in each drink. You know what that was? A employee that really enjoys her job and happy to serve customers. I ended up trying a cold tea drink. It's caramel tea with oreo bits topped with mint. The presentation was beautiful. This cafe is extremely well decorated, perfect for photos and a perfect date spot! I've come twice and each time left very full and happy. Both the sweet desserts and savory food was delicious. What a lovely experience! Prince Tea House is such a cute place to hang with your girlfriends for lunch. The ambiance is very relaxing and classy. We ordered the Afternoon Tea for 2 and the chicken roll which was good for all 4 of us. The scones were my absolute favorite and the chicken roll had good flavor. For tea, we ordered the Du Hammam tea (refreshing), Jasmine Green Milk tea (a little perfumy in my opinion), Rose Lover Milk tea (silky smooth), and Tropical Oolong (my favorite). The teapots are adorable and come with their own little candle warmer to keep them hot. Overall, we had a great time! read more

This is definitely one of those "do it for the gram" types of places, but NO REGRETS lol. We were in Chinatown and decided to walk over to this place, which we had seen in a post somewhere. Did the afternoon tea for 2. Expensive for what you get, but it was worth it for the experience. Unlimited refills on tea (for 2 hours), and some tiny little snackies to munch on while you catch up with your friends. We loved the fruit tea (I forgot if it was the prince passion or the prince paradise one), but that one was definitely the best one! We ended up getting only refills on that particular tea and abandoned the other one we got LOL. We also wanted to try the durian mille crepe cake, but it wasn't meant to be since they didn't have any :( It was fine though - we ended up literally drinking like 6 pots of tea so we were plenty full. Although...probably wasn't a good idea considering that there aren't any public restrooms readily available in NY LOL read more

Prince tea house is really best of both worlds: fancy AND delicious :) I'm so glad we were introduced to this establishment by our friends upon moving to NYC because their drinks and desserts are truly outstanding. They offer a large variety of French influenced teas on their menu with herbal and fruity elements. My personal favorite is the "Des sables" which sounds ostensibly French and is a tasty cocktail of citrus fruits, rose, mango and peach. We also love their dessert menu which features a large variety of Exotic and delectable choices: green tea crepe cake, mango crepe cake, matcha creme brulee , tiramisu, molten lava cake , and NY style cheesecake among many others. I feel incredibly elegant sipping on tea with a slice of matcha Mille crepe cake and I enjoy imagining I am enjoying high tea somewhere in the rustic countryside. The interior decor is cute and instagram worthy and interestingly makes the ambiance feel very relaxing, classy and sophisticated. It's a must try if you have a sweet tooth. read more

The tea was really good we had ordered black tea and it was yummy! The decor on the table was very cute as well as on the wall. It wasnt a noisy establishment and there was no music so it was good to be able to talk to my friend without having to yell like you have to do and a lot of other restaurants The prices for the food was a bit pricey to me the little cakes and the entrees were more than I would've paid for. There wasn't really a lot of selection to choose from to be honest I did not have a problem with the staff and the food came out with an a good time frame Overall it was decent I probably would not go back due to the prices of the food and the fact that there's no parking in that particular location.
