My cat isn't the easiest to treat. He's an A-hole. Once feral (wild), he remembers what a bad-ass he is when stressed out, hence he goes in sedated. That said, he can STILL be scary! He's had up to FIVE sets of gentle, but firm hands on him to ensure his check up is as complete as safely possible for all parties. Dr Burns and the team ROCK! Highly recommend them. read more

First time at the hospital. Dr Burns was thoughtful and very thorough on my pets treatment plan. Was very expensive but hey my dog has a lot of skin issues and treating skin allergies is NEVER EASY OR CHEAP. Dr Burns and all her staff are extremely helpful, friendly and very professional! Super welcoming as well. They did all the treatment in the exam room in which my 3 yr old son was extremely curious to see how they helped take care of our family pet. They were patient and sweet to my son as well. I love them! And thank Dr Krause who recommended this hospital to me. We moved from California 3 months ago and Dr Krause told me this hospital was the best to go to in Arizona. It was a bit of a drive from where I live but I have no regrets! Dr's Are Great! Frustrated getting meds without an Office Visit We take our 5 dogs here and trust each Doctor implicitly with their wellbeing. We put down our oldest and was treated with respect and dignity helping us get through the process. We are greeted in a timely manner, every effort is taken to treat each pet with quality care and address each of their needs. Communication is excellent and you are kept informed of costs, care, expectations. The only concern we have had is obtaining medications or prescriptions in a timely manner outside of a scheduled office appointment. For example we have to wait 24-48 hours to process a request for additional Heartgard Plus for two dogs. Previous veterinary offices can process walkin requests, hence the frustration. Priority Pet Hospital has been our veterinary home for several years now and we expect it to be for a long time. read more

The office staff and Dr. Michael are absolutely wonderful. I took my baby girl, Oreo, for an evaluation of a mass that developed on her back and they went above and beyond. They claim to specialize in felines. My cat has asthma and was constipated needing medication for this and meds for her nebulizer. I wasn't asking to reinvent the wheel, however it seems this was too much for Dr. Barnes to handle. So if you have issues such as this you should think of taking your cat somewhere else, like Scottsdale Veternarians, my kitty has gotten excellent care there. If she considers her self to be any kind of Dr. these conditions shouldn't be an issue. I've been taking my kitty to Scottsdale Veterinarians and they have had no problem caring for the cat since I rescued her in 2015. They didn't think the cat was so bad today that I needed an internist. I was never told I needed a specialist at all, except by Dr. Barnes. I think the Dr. is full of it. These are simple issues that don't require a specialist. read more

Our Teddy had to have his teeth deep cleaned which for Him is no easy task. He has to be heavily tranquilized just to get him in the front door. The office staff is aaaaaammmaaazing, Dr. Burns has taken on our challenge with Teddy a German Shepherd and handles him with care. Taylor the vet tech/vet assistant luvs teddy and she's dialed into his and our needs, she's very helpful, patient, she's just plain good, thanks. When teddy had his teeth cleaned, they did an amazing job. I came to ck in on him to see how he was doing, I expected them just to say oh ya he's doing good but Dr Burns came out and said if you'd like to in the back, we're all done he's just trying to wake up. I had know idea she was taking me behind the scenes into the recovery room. I had to take a deep breath because he was hooked up to machines and had tube down his throat. We've had only one short but very meaningful experience with Priority Pet Hospital. On the night of New Years Eve we brought our 3-year-old pup dog in as he seemed very ill. There was practically no wait time and Dr. Burns was very prompt. After mentioning the symptoms I've witnessed over the past 8-12 hours and taking my pup's (Titan) temperature, Dr. Burns knew immediately she could not provide the necessary care Titan would need due to the holidays and possible severity of his condition. She referred me to the nearest emergency animal hospital and waived her office visit fee as she knew it was in the best interest of Titan. Dr. Burns and staff's sympathy, compassion and professionalism was admirable. Unfortunately, we had to euthanize Titan as his condition was too critical for recovery. Surprisingly, the following week we received a hand-written card from Dr. Burns and her staff expressing their condolences. I found this to be very touching as we were never a patient at her office. The professionalism, kindness, and true love for animals are reasons enough for us to return to Priority Pet Hospital once we adopt our new pup. read more

I have been in Gilbert for 9 years and used a variety of vet clinics and hospitals and am SO happy I found Priority Pet Hospital with Dr. Burns. I sought a new veterinarian as I was never happy with anyone I have used so far for my pets. Other vets always, always worked the up-sell, and charged outrageous prices. Not here! My dog was treated with only the medication needed, and not one second of an up-sell moment happened. THANK YOU FOR THAT! I was able to get an appointment same day and treated so well! What a horrific experience!!! I will admit my dog is very anxious when she goes to the vet if it's not someone she knows and she will bark if you don't give her treats until she's realizes you are ok. And since I have given this office 3 separate appts times to get to know my dog-nope different dr every time! She's still anxious!!! Being that they boast about providing a STRESS FREE environment, I would think more than 1 dr & asst. would try to win the dog/patient over by giving treats to reduce their stress. Show them this is going to be ok. While my dog is barking and Dr Nichols is standing 8 feet across the room telling me to speak up she can't her me when I was explaining why I was there & what was going on with my dog. I finish speaking she says "ok, I'll go get the antibiotics, it's probably a bladder infection, we are checking urine now. Exam is $59 Urinalysis $89 plus the cost of meds for today." And she went to walk out the door! I said "are you going to give her an exam????" She said if you want that I have to go get help-why am I paying $59 for an exam-you never touched my dog!!!!!! WTH?!?! Finally came back with a tech and still no treats, asked me if I have trazadone for exams-NO I WONT DRUG MY DOG FOR EXAMS JUST CAUSE YOU CANT TAKE 2 minutes to get to know her!!! She listened to her heart and said her stomach was fine-ok that's it!!!! Tech will be back in with your meds!! An extra $63 but we don't have them all, so pay for all today and come pick the rest up next week. Hmmm, no thank you. I'll find them somewhere else, or pay at pick up. I will say the 1st time I went, I saw Dr Karin was great at getting to know my dog!! No problems at all. After today my confidence in Priority help has been completely LOST! Don't get me started on the paperwork that got messed up for my other dog. read more
