We called Pristine Pools to help us upgrade some pool equipment in a newly purchased home. Matt came by the house to look at the pool. He inspected the water quality, and he explained all of the tests. He was very knowledgable about pool chemistry, but also local water conditions affected by drought (e.g., calcium hardness). Matt explained things in a straightforward, non-condescending way that I very much appreciated. Matt gave us a competitive quote for equipment upgrades, but we ultimately used a different contractor only because of the timing (Pristine Pools could not make the repairs for a couple of weeks). There were no hard feelings after our decision to use someone else, and that also speaks highly of this company. Matt and Pristine Pools was great to work with! Our old heater rusted out and we needed a replacement. We also wanted to add automation. Pristine pools was very professional and looked at everything, including fuses, etc. They provided a detailed breakdown of all the components and labor and the quote was competitive with another vendor. The other "5 star" vendor was not as detailed, and he didn't even look at the fuses. The quote was scribbled out on paper and I couldn't even read what units were being proposed. He didn't even check to see that the fuse was original and not GFCI. Glad Pristine Pools caught that. We had them install a JXI Gas 400k btu w/ Versa Flo bypass, which heats our spa in about half the time of our old heater and is much more efficient. The installation looks clean and they were able to push things back a bit, so we have more space in the walkway. They also installed an Easy Touch automation with screen logic. We love it! I just began using Matt and the team at Pristine as my pool guy was not very knowledgable about troubleshooting problems and repairs. Well if you want an intelligent, professional, courteous AND affordable pool guy, Matt Vieira is your man. He diagnosed a problem with the circuit board of our Aqualink control system and replaced it quickly and for a reasonable price. He also noticed that our 20 year old pump was inefficient and suggested replacing it with a new, more-efficient model that will save us about $1,000 a year in energy costs. I can't begin to tell you how helpful Matt has been for us. We have just purchased a new home with a distressed pool, and Matt not only went out to look at it within 24 hours after contacting him, but he was thorough, knowledgable, and most importantly, sensitive to our financial needs. We have been using Pristine Pool Company for over a year now and we cannot say enough about their professionalism, follow up service, and knowledge. Recently we were on a European vacation and as it would happen, the morning we left, our filter wasn't working properly. I moved into a new home in Livermore with a pool that was green. I tried to shock the pool but the green came back. Premium service will cost you WAY more than $160/month. One month we paid an extra $50 just for salt, that's a 30% increase... CRAZY! The folks are very nice and our pool was kept clean but in less than 7 months we paid an extra $100 for filter cleaning, extra $100 to start up our salt cell, plus almost another $100 for tab floaters and salt, averaging over $220/month. My husband and I do not know about pools so its hard for us to challenge what is really needed but all the extra (unexpected) costs are hard to manage. Unfortunately, we will be looking for another service company. read more

We used Pristine Pools to clean and update our outside water feature that had gone dormant. Matt installed a new pump that is variable speed, had our tile cleaned "pristine", and set the system back in motion. Additionally, he recommended some fairly safe chemicals that I could use to clean the sconce. He reinstalled the sconce for me and the system has been working great for nearly 2 years. Not sure with other reviews, we live in Danville area, and we had the Prestine Pool service for two years. Pristine pool service were horrible. Pristine Pool sub-contract to other guys, they came in, spent no more than 5 minutes, and they're gone. When I asked the service man about what he supposed to put on the pool, and spent a bit longer, he flatly answered that he was 'here" enough of time, and he suppose to focus to "rip-off' the owner, not service the pool. Worst, he came back, and damage pool cover. read more

Pristine Pools has been a life saver - my Dad had always maintained his own pool, but when he passed away in January, my brother and I had no idea what needed to be done, and how to do everything. I went on line, and found a pool guy in Danville, but he was going on vacation, and HE recommended Matt and Pristine Pools! I could not be happier with their stellar service. Between Matt, Shawn, Rachel, etc., they are a great team and so easy to work with. Very accommodating, and they know their stuff! They recommended replacing the pool skimmer (creepy crawler) with a more powerful one (the "tank" - MX6). Also added a leaf catcher, and replaced the older/original pool equipment. The pool has never looked so good, and is now worry-free. When you call them with any questions/issues, they respond immediately and take care of it.
