I don't know how much stricter I can be with my honor roll child who is in academic programs and has structured schedules because of his father who is also adhd and needs set schedules to remember activities I asked what do they want me to do?? Honestly my son has been coming to this office for a couple of years and has NEVER actually seen Dr Priti. If you put her in a line up, I could not point her out to save my life. This is a shame. Every time we have been to her office, my son has seen the NP's. It hasn't been an issue until today when I went to the office to pick up a copy of my sons latest lab results; since I never got a call on his results. I went a few minutes before the office opened. The office door sign stated it opened from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Today being a Thursday. I waited until 9:15am, no one ever showed up. I called the office and there was NO ANSWER; not even an answering service. I left and kept trying to call all the way home. No answer. I tried again around 9:45 am and finally the answering service picked up my call and stated the office would be closed until next week Tuesday. The woman on the phone stated it was probably because of the Labor Day on Monday. BUT TODAY IS THURSDAY! There was NO SIGN on the door...nothing! As an RN, this is unacceptable! What if this was another type of call? Not specifically needing an ER visit but I couldn't even get ahold of the doctor. The worst! Called this office for an appointment bc my toddler was coughing for 3 days and had a fever but was told they are not seeing patients with symptoms bc of Covid. The receptionist or whoever answered the phone diagnosed and recommended OTC meds. I am almost speechless about our introductory visit with this office! We had a 9:00am appointment and when we arrived, they didn't even open the office yet. Not to mention, the nurses were outside waiting to get in too! The nurses were even complaining about wanting to work elsewhere but they had no choice after graduation. Doors finally opened until 9:15am, how unprofessional! I'm changing my pediatrician ASAP! I do not recommend this place at all. It takes forever to get anything and the staff keeps telling me they will provide it and will call you back if they are not able to do something and they don't even call. If I could give this office zero stars I would. The receptionist is a total disgusting pig. Her attitude is horrific and she clearly doesn't like to be bothered. From making appointments, to checking insurance... total disappointment. I arrive for my sons appointment this morning at 9am right on time. My first impression of this office was that it was dirty, run down and very impersonal. The horrible reception sits behind a glass that she keeps closed she won't be bothered. Waiting 10 minutes before she even acknowledged me and that was only because I went up to the window and had to get stern with her. Finally went back to see the dr and in comes this young girl that looks like she just competed high school. I think she said she was the a nurse practitioner. As I explain to her how severe my sons asthma is and I need for the dr to see him because my sons asthmas was poorly managed at the previous pediatrician office.. she says I will go explain that to her and see if she can come in and see him. Wow! I was shocked! Finally, the Dr came in, loud and really aggressive. She did order blood work for my son but again that's only after I was stern with her. The main reason I was there was to get my sons prescriptions sent to the pharmacy and for him to be sent to the specialist. She did refer my son to get blood work and said she would send his RX over to the pharmacy, we were at the dr.s office for about 45 minutes so we ended up leaving just before 10am she stated to give her an hour because she was very busy... well I have her a couple hours called the pharmacy at 12:30 and his prescription had not been sent in. So of course I quickly called back and they were out to lunch and we're not returning back to the office until 130 so I called the office at 2 PM and let the disgusting receptionist know what was going on. Told her it was very important that my son had his prescriptions filled today and I let the doctor know this as well because he is running out and my son is severely asthmatic. She proceeded to tell me that the doctor was gone for the day and she would send her a message and she wanted me to give her a call back in the morning to see if the doctor had responded. In a calm but stern tone I let her know how important it was for my son to get his medication today she said she would call me back by five I never heard back from her. I have been to some bad pediatricians and I have been to some really good ones this office is definitely one that you should stay away from they should be shut down they are horrible. I guess I'll try my luck tomorrow morning and see if I can get my sons prescription filled and then I'll have to switch them over to another doctor again. read more

Dr. Desai is an amazing doctor, very concerned with her patients. Always has a smile on her face and very caring with it comes to the child. I like that every time a patient needs a physical she tells the parents that they are due for one. Not alot of doctors offices do that, and sometimes as working parents you get distracted and forget. Initially she was a good Dr. we quickly left her practice because all we ever saw was her P.A. she seemed to have gotten "to good" for her patients. Very dismissive and looks for flaws instead of addressing the parents concerns. Do yourself a favor and find another Pediatrician. SHE ACCEPTS MEDI-CAL!! I was reaLLLLLY conserned about where to take my daughter, shes been going to Dr. Desai since she was born. VERY happy with her. The girl up front is also very helpful. When the doctor isnt there your child will still be seen by an asian Dr. who of course is very knowlegable and gentle! They will answer annnnnny question you have for them. If you have questions or concerns, you can just call the office and they will answer your questions. The doctor was assigned to me at the hospital when my son was born. I had no issues with her so made his 2 week appointment with her office. When I got there the waiting room was so full people were standing. The receptionist hides behind a closed, non see through window. People have to wait by the window for her to open it if they need to talk to her. It took 40 minutes for her to ask for my insurance card and get the new patient paperwork done. I waited in the waiting room for over an hour while they called three patients in before me who arrived at the office after me. There were also no toys in the rooms or waiting room to entertain kids and no movie was playing on the TV. The doctor seemed friendly enough but I will not return. The office staff and environment should really be a little more inviting. read more

My daughter is 6 years old and she has been coming here since she was 2 months old. She has never had any health issues and we never had an issue with the office or doctor. My son is now 3 years old and he has been seen by Dr. Desai since birth. When my son was 8 weeks old i have still having a lot of issues with pain when breastfeeding. After doing some research and speaking with a friend (who is a dentist) we figured out that my son had a tongue tie and lip tie. I took him in to see Dr. Desai and she looked in his mouth for about 3 seconds and said "no he doesn't have a tongue tie. You just need to get used to breast feeding". I knew this wasn't normal to have this much pain because i breastfed my older daughter. So i took her word and we left it alone. When my son was about 18 months i was noticing that he had some unusual OCD like things he would do, he did not speak any words, and he was behind on hitting some of his milestones. I brought this up to Dr. Desai and she told me the i "can't compare him to my daughter. He is fine.". Again, i took her word on it. At his 2 year old check up he was still behind and only had a vocabulary of about 5 words. I was told again by her that "it's nothing to worry about". I ended up calling San Gabriel Pomona Regional Center. They evaluated him and they told me he had a speech delay and a sensory processing delay. He received speech therapy and occupational therapy until he turned 3. My sons occupational noticed his very loud breathing. She also told us that his loud snoring and night terrors weren't normal and we should consult his pediatrician. After consulting with Dr. Desai i was told he has allergies. The Regional Center referred my son to the school district in March 2018 for a hearing and vision test and to be evaluated by their speech therapist. At that visit he failed his hearing test. We made an appointment at Dr. Desai's office to follow up on the failed hearing test. When i called to make the appointment the lady at the front desk said "well we usually don't do hearing tests because they don't cooperate at that age". After going back and forth she finally gave him an appointment. When we went in for the appointment they wanted him to put headphones on and drop a chip in a bucket where he heard a sound in the headphones. Let me remind you, this is a child with sensory issues so putting in headphones was not going to work. After they were unable to do the hearing test they tell me "well we have another test where we can put a small device in his hear and we can test it that way" my thought was, if you knew we were coming and you knew he wasn't going to cooperate, why not just get the other test to begin with?! So we had to come back for a different appointment to have that test done. After the test was done they said "yup, he can't hear." They weren't able to give me any answers as to why. They referred us to Children's Hospital Audiology. I took him there and they were awesome! They were able to tell us that he had fluid behind his eardrums and he would need to have tubes placed. Dr. Desai's office then referred us to Dr. Williams (ENT). After consulting with the ENT he was able to tell us that my son needed ear tubes, his adenoids needed to be removed because they were blocking his breathing causing the snoring and night terrors, and he has a tongue tie that needed to be cut. ALL OF THESE ISSUES I HAD BROUGHT TO DR. DESAI'S ATTENTION AND NO ONE LISTENED TO ME. On top of all of this...in July i took him in for his 3 year physical. We had our appointment scheduled with CHLA at the end of July. The office said they wanted to be a routine hearing test. I didn't mention anything about us already having a test done because i wanted to see what they would do. The assistant came in to do the test. Of course, Aaron failed. The assistant said "oh well it's ok he's just not cooperative" i was confused because he sat perfectly still and cooperated for the test. I then told her that he failed the test because he couldn't hear. She looked baffled. I CAN ONLY WONDER HOW MANY OTHER CHILDREN THEY OVERLOOK. No one in this office listens to the parent. I would not recommend this office to anyone. They do not provide the standard of care. read more

I have had some good, some bad experiences. First issue is getting an appointment, seems she is closed more than open (during the week). I have had to use urgent care because of that. Secondly, getting refills on prescriptions. My son has asthma, has had for years. He is on a preventative inhaler daily and then the "emergency" steroid one. She never allows for more than the one refill at a time so each time they need to get her authorization. The authorization generally takes three or so requests from the pharmacy. Even if I call the office to check on it, I'm told "it's on her desk". I generally start the refill process about 3 weeks before we need it. There is no reason for that. I've even called and said it needs to be authorized today, we are OUT, doesn't matter, doesn't get done. I pretty much agree with the comments about the front desk personnel. read more

This is probably the first ever review I am writing, because Dr. Desai has been an amazing Doctor to our kids. Found her through my OB/GYN when I had my first kid. Being a Helicopter mom, I wanted to make sure I get the expert for my kids... Nothing less than that and I'm so thankful I met Dr. Desai. Not only does she provide excellent care but is very patient and listens to all your concerns and answers them one by one. She would even follow-up on them till you are totally satisfied. And I can say that as I know I have a LOT of questions and concerns. When I had my second one, my OB/GYN did not have an assistant to assist him as it was an emergency C-section. Since the hospital required Pediatrician to be present, she was there and she willingly opted to assist him and took care of my new little one. This shows pure professionalism. Her office staff has been excellent and professional as well in their dealing. They always make a reminder call for may appointment and it is very handy for me as often times I'm juggling with multiple tasks. The staff is very caring and would go out of the way to help you if you need anything. They are especially good with the kids and have excellent bed side manners. I would definitely recommend Dr Desai and her staff to anyone looking for true, reliable, and expert care. read more

I really liked Dr. Desai at first. I first took my daughter to the Chino Hills office when she turned 2. It was a great intro to her since there weren't any shots involved. She was patient, inquired about what our daughter was really like. She seemed to really want to know us. She even gave my daughter a "birthday present", a toothbrush that she absolutely loved. Fast forward 4 months. We now have a newborn. I made an appointment for his 2 week check up. My daughter had also been complaining of some pain in her back and tummy troubles so I made her an appointment at the same time. The girl at the front desk had issues with our insurance (which wasn't her fault) and didn't know how to deal with it so that delayed our appointment. The same girl did weight, height, temps on both kids then asked if we has any concerns. I gave her a long list. Dr. Desai brushed off all of my concerns. **His belly button doesn't look like it's healing correctly. *It fell off at 7 days. It's ok. (Didn't even look at it) **His jaundice doesn't seem to be clearing up. He's still yellow. * Set him by a window. He'll clear up by 2 months. (Didn't request blood work to check his billi levels) **He's very congested and has a hard time breathing sometimes. *There's nothing in his nose. Just use the aspirator. (Didn't even check breath sounds) **She complains about her back hurting all the time. I want to make sure it's not her kidneys. *Her pain isn't high enough. It's not her kidneys. Just normal pains. (Didn't request urine or blood. What 2 year old has "normal pain"?!) All these things seemed pretty pressing and she made them seem like nothing. Then the girl at the front couldn't understand that my son's 2 month check up shouldn't be scheduled for 2 months into the future, it should be scheduled at 2 months of age. At that point my husband and I just said screw it. We'll find a new doctor. I left feeling very very unsatisfied. When it comes to my children's health, I will not settle. read more

I was very excited four years ago to find this doctor after having to switch (bad experience with Dr Yovana Bruno in Duarte) and felt like Dr Desai was very warm and understanding. The last recent years I've got to say it has changed a lot.. From wrestling on the phone with the receptionist to schedule an appointment, to wait times even when having an appointment, unclean environment, to condescending attitudes about my concerns with my child from the Dr, and worst of all going in as a walk in first thing before 9am (yet reception didn't open the office until 920) with a sick crying child just to be told doctor won't be in. I believe Every parent should have an opportunity to have a great experience/relationship with the doctor and staff of their children. What didn't work out for me may not be the same for you and I am only expressing My feelings, thoughts, and experience here with Dr. Priti Desai and her staff. I would never recommend for anyone to come here. I think "Arias D." is onto something here because I do agree with her when it comes to the complete change in behavior and attitude the staff and doctor take with you after a certain amount of time your child has been seen (for me it was sooner), the difficulty in making an appointment or trying to get a hold of the doctor, and how rude and unprofessional the staff become with you by back talking/being passive aggressive/dismissing your concerns or calls/giving you the runaround/etc. Pros: Place is picked up and clean, Dr. Desai is Board Certified and from what I read online seems to have a good background, Doctor speaks good English, seems to be nice, and in the beginning of my relationship with her it seemed to go ok but changed and not sure if that typically happens after a little while for people or just a select few like myself. Cons: ~Waiting room not set up for children (no books/toys/etc.) and is very small. ~Staff can be very unprofessional and rude (at some point will have an attitude with you) on the phone. That only gives impression that they don't care and it comes off as the client/patient is a nuisance. A girl by the name of Sonja or Sonya (not sure how she spells it) was not willing to help at all, gave some back talk and even told me to call her the next day to remind her of what she said she was going to do in the first place. I also thought/felt that the staff did not do a thorough/accurate job when it came to weighing my child because they do it with all of the child's clothes on, maybe from time to time take off one item of clothing. They didn't make an effort to have a relationship with my child or I, just straight to business and if asked for anything additional like something with my child's development or weight/height info on it they behaved like it was to much trouble to do that so I would end up feeling like I had to jump hoops just to get it, ridiculous! ~As for my experience with Doctor Priti Desai: At first it seemed ok but that quickly changed after a few visits. Dr. Desai never called me back after leaving a few messages nor will she call you back from what I heard. She was very laid back/dismissive when it came to my concerns and questions. She was not thorough and did the very minimal when looking at my child. I soon felt like I couldn't share concerns or questions with her due to her attitude of nothing ever being that serious. There were a couple of occasions that I can recall that I lost confidence in her, one in which I found out my child had an ear infection from another doctor after Dr. Desai had seen my child. The Doctor asked me and was surprised that she didn't even take a look at his ears. Another occasion was when she prescribed some medicine that, in my opinion, should have never been prescribed for my child since it was not good for the age my child was, surely there has to be another option from all the medicines out there these days. So when I gave it to him he got very sick from it. Even the pharmacist seemed surprised but I trusted that Dr. Desai knew what she was doing. There were other things that happened but I will just keep it at that. I hope this info helped you and you will have a better experience than I did if you choose to go with this Doctor. About 3 years ago my son had a horrible rash all over his body and its like lice on his skin this bitch didn't even look at him she glanced at his rash and she said "ew he has scabies"this bitch should lose her fucking licence because I keep my kids clean they get a bath every day I'm a huge clean freak so I know that it wasn't scabies! This woman is not a Dr by any means.its a shame how she imposed herself on us for my delivery of my baby boy. Very materialistic she stood 1 hour after my surgery infront of me to ask for her 500 dollars when I told her I need my husband to come she rudely said OK I will be back in 10 mins and when we asked her to sign the claim form for our insurance company she said I won't do it if u don't pay me 25 dollars etc. Not to mention she didn't even check on the baby or on his health. I have been taking my children to Dr Desai's office now for about 2 years. The Dr is so nice, kind, thorough, but at times can be a little aggressive. She is the ONLY reason we are still coming here. The front staff on the other hand is really rude, condescending, unhelpful, argumentative, has an excuse for everything, and genuinely doesn't want to be bothered. Both my kids have asthma and take preventative medication, plus inhalers. Getting a refill in a timely manner is like pulling teeth. I don't have the time or patience to keep calling back and forth between the Pharmacy and the Doctor's office to get the refill approved. This happens regularly. They only give one refill, so basically every other month I have to go through this. With both children. As if being a single parent isn't already a huge job in itself. So frustrating. The front office's chief complaint is that their office fax machine does not receive faxes after hours. If it's been unused for awhile, the fax turns off. Which make ME have to call back and forth the the pharmacy to resend it. I finally got tired of it and told them maybe it's time to either get the machine repaired, or replaced. This is ridiculous. No one should have to go through this to get medication for their child. Time to start looking for a new pediatrician. read more

I took my son to her since he was born due to a friends recommendation she has a child 5 months older than my son, she is a good doctor I would say but as far as appointment goes and time it has become horrible! my son is now 22 months old and in the almost 2 years I've been taking him there the 1st year was the best, very attentive any time I would call they would respond or ask me to come in with out appointment but as soon as he turn 1 year old every time I call they either tell me they don't know what I'm asking or that they will give Priti Desai my number for her to call me back, not once in the past 3 times has she or anyone from this office called back, recently I called in bc of it had been a while for my app. and wanted to verify what day it was, they said it had been 2 months ago and I had missed it, ((I'm sure I would have written it down)) however they were not even courteous enough to give us a call or send something over the mail remanding of the app. My child had diarrhea for 4 days straight with no other symptoms I called to ask what should I do besides the water and pedialyte and once again she took down my number, I called again later on in the day and they took my number again never to call back, now my son has a weird rash in his skin that seems to be spreading I called early in the morning and she ask me to come in at 11:30am I arrived a few minutes late and the front desk said she couldn't see my son now bc they were going to lunch I asked if I could please just have her look at my son before going to lunch and the girl responded that "the doctor Priti Desai was already pist at her for even asking me to come in", that they had too many appointments for today, as if my sons condition was an inconvenience to her!!! should I just ask her when she is available for him to become ill??? that way we do not disturb her? I been going to dr.desai for years ,shes great when shes actually the one seeing the children. it takes long to get an appt. or make sure kids can be seen because they have to be sick 2 weeks or more ,because the med. assistant says everyone goes,flu everyone gets. I been very patient and try to see the good. anywho I switched the doctors few months ago because ,I needed a closer one and someone to actually see my daughter because it wasn't just flu, allergies. what made me write this review is I suck with paperwork. I call them an hour after they open to tell them I need them to fax my sons paperwork to his new doc. because of shots.hours past never received it. the docs office called nothin. Since is fri they close early, so now im out of son shots until 3 weeks from now,due to there lagging ,he cnt start school. had get new lead work ,they really do need more efficient med. assistant in the front,friendly and caring ,im not the first one to get upset or the last one , im sure of it . read more
