On Sunday, 9/22/24 at 1:30p I booked an appointment with Jainie Diaz who works at PRIV. She also is a makeup artist to the stars such as Priyanka Chopra, Paris Hilton, and Natalie Portman, just to name some of her clients. Of course, I was excited, honored and intrigued to have my makeup experience and blowout done by Jainie. Jainie Diaz who is an experienced makeup artist working at PRIV, did an outstanding hair and blowout for my Red Carpet event as well as my beautiful airbrushed makeup and lashes. Jainie arrived on time, and was very professional and friendly. She demonstrated the utmost customer service as well. She coached me on breathing while getting my airbrushed makeup since it was my first time getting that done. I loved my airbrushed makeup. My face was flawlessly done. I loved how the makeup was applied. My eyebrows needed sculpting and she asked me if I would like it done as well. Naturally, I trusted her opinion and had it done. My eye makeup was the best I've ever had it applied. The blue shadow, eyeliner, and lashes and mascara accentuated my look. Jainie knew how to match my look with my blue gown for the red carpet. I highly recommend Jainie Diaz who works for PRIV in LA, Beverly Hills, if you are interested in looking like a million dollars when you step onto the Red Carpet or any Black Tie affair. read more

Then I received another cancellation notice 30 minutes before my daughters hair appointment for Prom. DO NOT USE THEM, VERY UNRELIABLE! Better off with GLAM SQUAD. I had used GLAM SQUAD in the past, but priv was cheaper. I can see why now. read more

We booked an October 31 appointment on October 7, giving them several weeks of lead time. On October 29, we received a text telling us their artist can't make it. They made no attempt to find someone else. They're just unprofessional. They also make it difficult to delete your account. Avoid these flakes. read more

I am a professional makeup artist contracted by this company, and I can tell you these folks genuinely have been abysmal to deal with from an employee standpoint and I'm not sure what that says about them as a company, but I would NOT trust your credit card number with them. They pay us via their own online payroll system and we have to login to to transfer our funds to a bank account or Paypal. After working a few jobs with them, my account was hacked and someone was able to login, add a new transfer method and transfer my wages to their account within 4 minutes of my being notified of a "new login". I saw it immediately as I was on my computer when it happened, and changed the password, but it was too late. They had transferred funds to a Paypal account that was named with my last name, so it's obvious that there was some kind of data breach in their system that allowed for someone to strategize this and did this either to track their transfers or simply to fly under the radar and not be noticed. I didn't share my password or login with anyone, nor did I have any other login attempts or hacks on any other account so it's obviously stemmed from wherever this data is being stored. This also obviously was someone that knew their system well enough to be able to do this so quickly in spite of their website backend being a little strange to navigate. After completely ignoring multiple emails, their controller finally responded. I was shocked at the lack of seriousness in the company's response. I could not imagine why any company would not take seriously that their data is so not secure, that their employees wages are straight up getting stolen. Who runs their company that way? When I finally did get a response, the controller was not only NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT apologetic or empathetic for ACTUAL WAGES from hours of SKILLED WORK getting stolen from THEIR lack of security in THEIR unfortunate excuse for a payroll system, but when asked what the company was willing to do to rectify or assure me that I was safe to continue working and this would not happen again, she simply responded by denying that this has ever happened before and saying there was nothing she could do. I was floored. Any company that handles their employees and their online security this way has no ethics (at best) and can absolutely not be trusted, especially with your data and credit card info. read more

App and website have not been functioning for weeks. Tried to book 2 makeup applications and 2 blow outs. The customer service had to help me book because the website/app. Day of ended up with 4 makeups and 1 blowout. Then they charged me for everything! Customer service is rude and unprofessional. Makeup lady was good, but our hair turned out awful. She literally didnt dry my hair all the way, backratted it like the 80s, curls fell 20 minutes later, and our makeup gal tried to fix it once she left. I never write bad reviews, but this experience was a zero out of 10. Save your money girls. read more

Painful, painful process and procedure. Representative showed up without the earring requested, so of course, the only option was to spend $55 more on the next tier up earring. It wasn't my fault they didn't bring it with them, why do I need to pay for it. The actual piercing was really painful and I only wanted one ear pierced(my other ear is still open), but they insisted on piercing it as well. So I said no. Pierce a piece a paper if you need to, but not my other ear. Will never use them again for anything. read more

If you're a beauty professional don't bother applying to work for them. Super unprofessional, they NEVER get back to emails, calls or texts. No matter how seasoned and experienced you are they make you go through a super lengthy interview process, no one to talk to (all automated emails) so you can ask questions, not clear about rates, super shady, they make you find your own model to demonstrate your skills which is unrealistic because not everyone has access to a model. I flew in from London and had no idea where to find me a good salon. My boyfriend actually found this place through yelp and I'm so glad he did! I had an up-do and makeup + lashes done for the Oscars, and I've never looked more gorgeous in my life. My stylists were Syuzanna (hair) IG: monman_beauty and Harley (makeup) IG: harleyraquel_mua. I had such a pleasant time with the both of them, it was a really nice experience. My hair was intact the whole time and I counted the pins at the end of the night, 35 pins!! Haha. My lipstick did not come off the whole night too, I was worried because I did not have the same shade of colour but it was there and even a straw couldn't get rid of it. I liked that they were very friendly and actually entertained all my lame jokes. I am a very happy customer! And would definitely recommend anyone who's looking to beGlammed to contact these girls. Can I give zero stars? I made this appointment months in advance, and even emailed them three times to confirm my appt which included hair and makeup. I confirmed one last time on Wednesday before my appointment the following Saturday - when they again confirmed my appt, I canceled an updo appt at a salon as it would be much easier for Priv to come to me to do both hair and makeup. My Priv hair stylist canceled ONE HOUR BEFORE MY APPT, and they couldn't find another stylist to cover for her. The makeup artist still came, and was very nice, but even though I asked for a natural look, she caked on the makeup. When my husband saw me, the look on his face said, "Oh no, you definitely aren't going to like it." Wow, he was right. I ended up washing it off before my event and did my makeup myself. :( $85 down the drain. I should also mention that I had initially asked for eyelashes, but all the makeup artist had were these huge, cheap looking eyelashes. Are you kidding me?? I told her I did not want them. Okay so fast forward to the bill. I was charged for airbrush makeup that I did not receive, and eyelashes. This was such an awful experience, not to mention stressful as I had to scramble to get ready for the event I was attending that night. beGlammed and my makeup artist Shauna were lifesavers today! I had a corporate photo shoot for my department's new website, and had to take some headshots. Since I never take professional photos (my current Linkedin photo and company site photo are selfies!), I figured I might as well make the most of it and get my makeup done. I assumed I would be able to find a local salon in the area with last-minute openings, and when I couldn't, I panicked and came across beGlammed in my searches. Shauna picked up the last-minute appointment that was happening in less than 2 hours, called to let me know when she was on her way, and constantly communicated. I was honestly shocked that I could find such a last-minute appointment anywhere at all. She was flexible in where we had to set up her makeup (since I was at work!) and so friendly and positive during the whole session! She was very detailed in asking about the look that I wanted, showed me my reflection at every stage to make sure I liked it, and even gave me little samples so that I could touch up later throughout the day. No makeup artist I'd worked with has ever been so thorough and attentive! I desperately needed bridal hair and make up for my destination wedding to SF. I had no idea what to expect for the day before Bridal trial and for my big day the next morning. All my anxieties fell away when Elite stylist Pauline came through the door of my hotel room. What an amazing MUA and hairstylist! I get that emergencies happen, but to "reschedule" 30 mins prior to a 7:30 pm appt with not even a personal message? I am now doing my own pedicure for my trip tomorrow and I am cranky as hell. Customer service is a joke. I don't know if "Max" is an actual person but if so, they do not have a soul. Have dealt with them twice and not an ounce of effort to make me want to do anything but write a scathing Yelp review. So here we are. The bride's makeup stayed in place the entire 10+ hours she was made up and looked flawless and pronounced in all the wedding photos. All of hour hair stayed in place through dancing and looked just as good at the end as it did at the beginning. So obviously their skills are great, but also these girls are so personable which was awesome! Especially if you're booking for them to be involved on a big day. Stephanie did our hair and she was beyond wonderful. She chatted the entire time and I truly felt as though she was just another bridesmaid doing our hair! I made an appointment to get my hair styled for my engagement pictures 2 weeks in advance. My shoot was at 5:15 so I wanted my hair curled right before so my appointment was set for 3. I messaged my stylist through the app at 2:00 the day of to confirm. At 2:30 I get a notification saying my stylist has cancelled. WHAT??!! I immediately sent a message to Priv and they got back to me telling me they would try and find a pro stylist to come out ASAP but on a Saturday with not even 2 hours until I had to leave, I wasn't feeling hopeful. All they could do was apologize and offer me a credit. This isn't the first time someone didn't show up either. We used beglammed before it became Priv for a bachelorette party in Vegas. One of the stylists "couldn't find" us so she just didn't show up, leaving 2 girls to have to do their hair and make up themselves. The idea of this company is great. I love how they come to your home and everyone has been super nice but if you're trusting them to get you ready for a big event, have a back up in case your stylist decided to cancel last minute! read more

I used this service for a high school reunion, and specifically stated in my request that I have "ethnic" hair. In my case, this basically means wavy and prone to frizz if not handled properly. So my first indication that there might be a problem was when they sent over someone freshly immigrated from an Eastern European country with straw straight hair, who had been in the business approximately 6 months. BUT...there are many people who can work with all hair types, so I tried to remain open despite my sinking feeling. I was thinking though.."I said I had ethnic hair, do you not employ any ethnic technicians?" At least I would feel like they could innately handle my hair. She was very very sweet, hence why this is a two star review, instead of one star. I requested an updo, which I also thought should be do-able for almost anyone. Wrong. Sweet-ums had no idea how to smooth my edges, which are relatively light weight as far as edges go. My hair ended up looking like a rat's nest and I had to completely redo it before my event. I tried a couple helpful suggestions, but saw that it was a lost cause, because she hadn't one infinitesimal clue how to work with my hair. And really, I shouldnt be having to coach someone through a service that I'm paying for. I can't imagine what happen if they sent her out for a client with really textured hair. I actually felt bad for her, but I should have felt bad for myself about spending that much money and then having to take it down and start over after she left. Complete waste of time and $$$. BeGlammed, I hope this was an anomaly and that you actually employ people of color. At the very least you should be making an effort to match your stylists to a client's very explicitly stated needs. I treated myself for my birthday with a makeup look and blowout from beGlammed. Best birthday present to myself! Pauline C. was my makeup artist and she is funny, quirky and a true makeup artist. That winged eyeliner was amazing! Liz C. was my hair stylist and gel manicurist. She was GREAT! The volume and waves she created with the blowout lasted a couple of days. The products she used were also amazing. The hairspray smelled great and did not flake when you combed through it the next day. The most special thing about Liz is that, she felt rushed when doing my nails (had birthday dinner reservations across town), so she offered to come back and re-do them for me. Beglammed is one of the worst experiences I have had. I had made appointments weeks in advance for the event. Basically, I looked like a character from Star Trek after my make up job. The hair stylist did a very basic job with blow dry. If I had done both these tasks myself I would have done a much better job On the day of the event, I pretty much had to address several calls from beglammed as the make up artist was going to be a no show. All in all, I would say that I would not recommend beglammed specially if you don't know the artist or stylist on a personal level. And if you do then why use beglammed I called in and explained the horrible makeup/ hair to the call center and they made no effort to offer a discount or provide any compensation.
