I forgot to leave this updated review. Nearly a year later, John was spot on about the Prius battery for our 2012 Prius C dying (which it did). Now I'm not talking about the Hybrid battery, just the regular 12v car battery. TLDR: I was at work, lady's Prius didn't start, had the car towed to John at Pro-A-Line. New AGM battery from Toyota, oil changed, tires rotated. ONE DAY TURN AROUND, virtually less than 24hrs to be exact. I don't mention price to keep things competitive. Just over 100k miles, perhaps in about 2-3 years we will invest in John to do the Hybrid battery for us. Thanks again John. read more

As a shop owner and Master Technician for 25 years its hard for someone else to meet my expectations. I lack the equipment to do alignments. I was referred to John by a customer and ended up taking a 98 Toyota Land Cruiser for alignment. I am very picky when it comes to centering the steering wheel. first went here because the vavoline oil changers could not perform the oil change on a 2017 hyundai elantra (they could not get the oil filter). just went there for brakes on 2013 hyundai sonata hybrid car was squeezed into the schedule and brakes now working better than when the car was new. read more

I have taken all my cars to John at Pro-A-Line Brakes once they are about 3-4 years old for the past 30 years. Today I took my Toyota Rav 4 to John for an oil change , but all other service had been done at Toyota Lemon Grove. When John tried to remove oil filter housing with Toyota approved tool it was too tight and something cracked. I called Toyota and explained that all previous work had been done by them, and the car had no oil and could not be driven. Toyota eventually agreed to take care of the problem if I had my car towed to them. Surprisingly they validated John's assessment that the housing was on too tight and they didn't know how that happened. Toyota treated me very well, Lyft rides home and back to them, and even gave me a gift bag when I left, filled with several very nice items. Although they wanted to blame John at first, they agreed with his assessment. Maybe they read all his positive reviews and realized that he was an experienced and trusted mechanic who saw the truth. read more

John was highly recommended to me by my boss over ten years ago and he has taken care of my cars ever since. He also now services my sister's car and the cars of several friends. My favorite part about having John work on my car is that he will take care of the whole car. Every time I take the car in for an oil change, he checks out the car thoroughly and reviews his notes on it, then he tells me about any upcoming service and any future repairs it may need. He breaks the repairs down into affordable chunks of work, never pressuring me to do something before it is needed. He gives me a heads up in advance of when the car will need brakes, a radiator flush, belts, etc. When he can, he gives me the option of how to handle a repair, like when my CD player broke and he helped me find the least expensive model that would still have pretty good reliability. It has been a few years since he fixed it and it is still working perfectly. Sometimes I have to set an appointment a week out, but his work is worth waiting for if you can.
