Shave and a haircut walk-in. The gentleman there was extremely courteous and kind. The shave was less than ideal and it seemed to me that particular service was seldom requested or delivered. Went to get a haircut this morning and the person that opened showed up 20 minutes late. Their sign says they open at 9:00 am. He claimed heavy traffic from Clairemont to Rancho Bernardo was the reason for his extreme lateness. I immediately checked Google Maps and there was no sign of any northbound traffic congestion from Clairemont to Rancho Barnardo. It was an outright lie. This was the 3rd time this has happened to me at Pro Barber. I show up at the opening time and have waited at least 20-30 minutes for someone to actually show up and open. When I asked for the Owners name and phone number he told me "Danny" owned the establishment but refused to give me Danny's phone number. When I asked him for his name, he also refused to give that to me. I plan on lodging a complaint with the "Board of Barbering & Cosmetology" - which was a plaque Pro Barber had on their wall stating to contact them with any complaints. I have been a customer of Pro Barber for many years but I am now done with them. The way I was treated this morning and lied to was simply inexcusible. I would highly recommend folks find a different haircut place. read more

Prices still good for this economy, and they give quality haircuts. I've been coming here for over 2 years now and have no complaints at all, even take my son here. I'll add that you're paying for a good haircut for a good deal. If you're expecting a $50+ haircut, go pay for a 50+ dollar haircut. read more

This is the first time coming here and after I saw the reviews I was a little concerned but it was really the only place open on Sunday. When I came in there was already two customers ahead of me, a child and adult male. I watched pretty closely as she cut both of their hair since the reviews seem to complain about the mirror and a few other things. I've never really faced a mirror myself during a haircut and didn't really care all that much to watch but in watching her cut the other two people's hair I felt OK with cutting mine. I thought she did a pretty good job and was nice and respectful I'm not from around this area but if I were I would come back. read more

TL;DR: NOPE out of this place Pros: - they do haircuts. Kinda. - there was no wait. Hmm... Cons: - cash only! God forbid you might want to use a modern form of payment. - overpriced! Two men's haircuts with shampoo were $43! - bro do you even scissor? The woman that cut my hair used clippers on everything until the very end when she used scissors for about .54 microseconds to make sure the front was kinda even. - oh you want to watch? The two ladies always had you facing the windows, not the mirrors. I've never had a haircut where I wasn't mostly facing the mirror. When I asked to face the mirror she didn't understand at first and then finally grokked what I was demonstrating. Even at the end she handed me a hand mirror to inspect myself instead of having me face the wall mirror. - you want what? They completely ignored what my son asked for. Since you're not facing the mirror you're left guessing at how it's going to turn out. - chiropractor required! The single shampoo station's angle invokes horrors of being in the dentist's chair, and causes some neck strain. - modern times? The posted prices included a Flat Top. I've been trying out a new barbershop in the area every time I need a haircut, which is every two weeks. FINALLY! This place can give you a clean fade. I've asked for numerous places in the area to give me a #2 on the top and #1 on the sides (hence the fade to blend the two different clipper sizes). I walked in on a Saturday morning and there were three ladies there cutting hair. I waited no more than 5 minutes. I told her what I wanted and was on my way. They do take their time when cutting their hair. I'd rather have this then have random hairs sticking up. My only complaint was that they do fades, but didn't quite know how to give me a nice edge up to clean up my sideburns and shave off my widows peak. I said that's fine and I could do it myself with a razor at home. It would have been cool if they were able to do that. It's in the plaza where RB Sushi is, but on the opposite side of the sushi place. It's a corner place closer to the Little Caesars. Good place for a nice haircut. Will definitely come back here. And it was 11 bucks, so you can't beat a clean haircut at that price. read more

This place ruined my hair. It's been 3 weeks and it still looks awful. You'd be better off cutting your own hair with a steak knife. The lady wouldn't even let me watch my hair being cut in the mirror?? She kept turning me around and it was obvious she had no clue what she was doing. My hair is easy and takes 15 minutes to be cut. She took 50 MINUTES. I know this because I was on lunch break. There were zero signs saying that they didn't take cards and when I was done I handed her my card and she says cash only. My son and I went there to get a military cut for him, before returning to base, after the holidays. Very clean, and only 10 bucks! He said it was the best cut he's ever had! Looked great. They have a little vacuum thing that attaches to the shaver so you dont get hair on the floor, or down your collar! read more

If you want a good haircut in Rancho Bernardo this is the place to go. Every time I have went there was usually three Asian girls working and very little wait if any. I get a medium fade every time and its 10 bucks they do not take credit cards so bring cash. what set this place on a higher scale from the rest was the time and attention they put in to your haircut its far from the sit down hurry up and chop and get you out type of establishment. Only went here because I was in the area and needed a haircut. That was a mistake. I asked for a medium fade and it was uneven. I was only given the chance for a quick peek at the haircut at the end of it and couldn't see the back. The place looks nice, but there are no mirrors in front of you so you can watch what they are doing and never turned me towards the mirror behind at the end. Pro Barber is fantastic! I judge a hair cut by price & speed with speed being more important than price. The way I figure the hair cutting expert has been cutting hair a long time so they got it down with no need for taking their time ... start cutting an I want to be done in 10 minutes. Been coming to Pro Barber for a couple of years. The barbers are actually lady barbers. I haven't asked their names yet other than to discover in conversation they are originally from Vietnam. I can tell you they are very nice and caring ... doing a good job is important. I think they enjoy my visits as when ever they hand the mirror to me to look, I refuse to look and tell them "I'm sure it's fantastic ... I don't need to look." They laugh every time. This is a simple place, nothing fancy, a barber shop offering a low price, however these are some amazing caring people trying to make a living so I say get your hair cut here. read more

Overall a good place for a haircut. They take their time and really pay attention to your haircut. After going to a chain down the street that tries to churn through as many customers as possible and charges 50% more, this place is now my go to in the area. The ladies are very nice, cheaper than most places in town and they usually do a decent job. Also, there is usually little to no wait so a good place when you need to get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. I found my place! I have been trying to find a barber for forever. They do not only do an awesome job, but they are very inexpensive. One downside is they take only cash, but not the first barber that does that. I guess it helps to keep the price down. I got a cut for $12 bucks, and it was better than $25 cuts I've had. read more
