Definitely the best barber in the area, I've been coming here for the past year and will choose this place every time I can. The shop is an old school barbershop that's cash only, but there's an ATM inside and a gas station next door. The prices are comparable to the chain barbershops but the service is a thousand times better. It's walk in only but all the barbers are great at getting everyone in and out with a quality cut. I am very fussy about who cuts my hair, and I have a beard which also needs attention with each haircut. I care so much about this that, when we first started living full time in San Diego, I would drive 100 miles to the desert to see my previous barber. Oh, and I prefer a real barber shop, as opposed to a salon. Quite by luck, I discovered the Penasquitos shop, then owned by its founder. When he retired, I feared that I would have to start looking around again until I met Pony, the new owner. He is a great guy, friendly as can be, with more than competitive prices, a barber who remembers all of his customers, knowledgeable about their individual preferences. I have seen the occasional woman in the shop for a cut, but it is mostly men, with all kinds of styles and cuts. Over the years, I have never seen anyone leave unhappy. read more

The prices here are pretty affordable compared to some other places nearby. My problem with the location is more or less the barbers themselves. They do an "okay" job, but the profanity is a little much for when I take my little one's there. I get that some times it slips out, its just not very professional. I would return in a pinch, but would rather pay a few bucks more and not expose my kids to profanity like this. read more

I frequently pass by this barber shop, but without any type of custom signage I couldn't tell if this was the spot for me. I have a go to spot for full haircuts, but also need a spot for a quick fade or touch up without having to pay a premium. After looking at reviews, I saw they were in line what I was looking for. They cater to all ages and are up to most trends. I came in on a slow day, granted the Covid situation and I got on a chair without waiting. Asked for a crop fade and it didn't come out bad at all. Definitely will be back for fades. At $14 it's a good price when you need a quick touch up. Getting there is kind of weird, but you can take the Penasquitos Dr exit and circle around behind the Chevron. Overall happy with the experience. I'll be back. read more

By far the worst haircut my son has ever had. It's been well over a month and I still look at him and think, "wow, his hair looks stupid". He looked like he was from the movie Dumb and Dumber, except it was additionally bad because it was crooked. He sits very still for his cuts too, so it wasn't from him moving around. We brought him back so they could at least make it not crooked and they did honor that request, which was nice. However, it still is awful.
