Great dives today with Lizzie and Paul. Nothing fancy but great service. Our gear was ready for us, they helped us into the water and really watched out for everyone's safety. We dove the back wall first. It was really cool. Oh, forgot to mention.... Saw a Whale!! After we did the 5 caves which was super as well. Lots of turtles and a few sharks. Lizzie did a great job showing us around and pointing things out we never would have seen in our own. When we five again in Maui we will definitely go back out with Prodiver!! read more

Had a blast with Scott and Jen, on our Maui dive. They were very fun and full of life. I really enjoyed diving with them. They were very noligable of the dive locations, and very informative of the abundant sea life in Maui. Jen was great and tryed very hard to make it a great experience, and it was. I saw so much coral and fish, and bunch of sea turtles. They had great snacks that were homemade. Very delicious! They also had sodas water and coffee for us. My wife was a little scared to dive becuase it had been 2 years since he last time, but afted speaking with Jen, and her motivating her she was good to go, and she loved it. I had read so many yelp reviews on maui diving, I just didn't want some one who didn't care, and was going to treat us like crap. I am so glad I chose them becuase they were so down to earth. We ever rescued a woman that was out in the ocean snorkeling amd drifted to far out. They acted so fast, and was very professional. We looked for her sister and dropped her off on the beach (crazy!) My brother (an AOW diver, 100 dives) and I (instructor) went out with Maui Prodiver this morning hoping to do the backwall of Molokini but conditions didn't allow for it. Instead, we did a dive inside the crater itself (~130 ft max depth, 100+ foot viz) and a second dive off the coast near Turtle Town (45 ft max depth, 50 foot viz). Both the dives and the overall experience were excellent. Dave, Dave, and Joe were absolutely fantastic. They took great care of us and our gear, pointed out really cool stuff underwater and brought a full stand up comedy routine to boot. This operation is super well run, the guys were lots of fun and we had an outstanding time. This won't be my last time diving with ProDiver Maui! read more

We are a couple, one to snorkel and one to scuba. The snorkeler had very limited experience. She was let off the boat by herself with limited instructions and was quite uncomfortable being in the water by herself with no other snorkels around. Took a lot of effort to return to the boat and the staff did not even know she was there until she threw her fins on the boat. The scuba dive was great with Birch as the guide on the backside of the crater. Crystal clear water. Equipment was good, functioned properly, and fit well. Second dive at Red Rock was interesting, less vis, but formations were neat. Chocolate chips cookies were good. read more

Jay and his crew at Pro diver Maui are awesome. I needed a refresher class because I had not been diving in the last 20+ years so Jay had one of his instructors Brandon give the class the same day. Thank you Brandon for making me feel comfortable in the water again. After the refresher I went on a boat dive to Molokini and then Wailea Point with them the next morning. Jen was the guide for our small group and she is very good at what she does. She was very attentive to all our needs, great pre-dive and what to expect see, pointed out different things through out the dive and made me feel very comfortable in the water. My brother-in-law got his certification in the mid-west in an old quarry and had not done any other ocean or recreational diving since then (about a year prior). I called Prodiver and spoke to Jen explaining this. She recommended a refresher dive at Makena landing which was the perfect intro for him before doing the two dives the following day. Fantastic experience both days. They are a fun group to dive with. On point with safety while also ensuring the most enjoyable experience, with a wide mix of ability among the divers that day. They do let you use your whole tank so those that need to come up sooner are not forcing others to end their dives early. Really just feels like your diving with your friends - they bring snacks which seem to be whatever one of them saw at the store that day and I thought that was plenty. read more

Beautiful location dove the back wall of Molokini Crater. And then Turtle town. Crystal clear water seen white tip reef sharks, three mora eels lots of giant turtles. They also took my mother and wife snorkeling very professional guide stayed with them the entire time got them an awesome experience. In my opinion one of the best dive operators on the island you can go with the big guys that get all the reviews but be prepared to dive with 30 to 60 other divers super super overcrowded I do not like that. Pro is in the name because professional is they way they run their operation. I took three precious ones to Pro Diver for a Discover Scuba experience. It was a last minute decision and Jay Schiesser, Owner, totally hooked us up. Kerry was our instructor and he was so calm and smooth - he made it so easy for us to understand exactly what we needed to know for the experience. By the way, Pro Diver is the only shop on Maui with a training pool onsite. Managing all the new equipment and skills can be challenging under any circumstances but being in the pool made it simpler - we didn't have to worry about low visibility, surf, or any other distractions. We had a fantastic introduction to breathing underwater and would highly recommend this shop. We most definitely will look them up when we return. read more

We've known the owner of Prodiver for almost 16 years now and he certified my daughter at the age of 12. My husband and daughter have been diving with Prodiver a ton of times on our ventures out to Maui each year (or more often). I had a great morning of diving with Pro Diver Maui! It was an all around well balanced & perfected experience. Jen was my dive guide and she was AMAZING! Extremely knowledgeable of the dive sites & marine life. She took the effort to point out unique finds, and continually yet un-intrusively monitored her divers. I needed extra weight and she had extra on her (in the water) of which she loaned to me without a hesitation. She was incredibly genuine and super nice with all of us. One of the other awesome parts of the dive was the back wall drift dive of Molokini. These guys knew what they were doing taking us to the back wall. The wall was amazing, the coral amazing, the water a deep blue, marine life everywhere, saw two white tip reef sharks cruising the ledge, the drop off was eerily wonderful, and the visibility perfect. Need I say more!!! The turtles on the second dive (McKenna Bay) were also truly amazing. There was a beautiful purple linckia starfish that was beautiful. The Captain was extremely courteous and also really funny. Experts on the water in every way!!! read more

I am a 30+ year scuba instructor with over 100 logged dives off Maui, but this was my first experience with this operation... it won't be my last. They are very organized and safety conscious and their boats are very easy to dive from. They are very knowledgeable about the dive sites as well as the marine life and went out of their way to fulfill my every request. I dove with them daily for almost 2 weeks and if I didn't have to come home, I would be diving with them again today. I not only found my new Maui dive operation... I found my new Maui friends. We took a refresher class which was led by Brandon and it was great. He was very knowledgeable and helped us get back up to speed. Thank you Brandon as I would highly recommend him and give him 5 stars. My three stars is because what happened the next day. After driving an hour to get to the boat launch they said they cancelled because of the weather which is always appreciated, but other boats were going out so it was a little odd, but always good to be safe. It was windy that day so about halfway into the hour drive down I checked my email and voicemail to see if things were going to be cancelled. I received neither and was only told once we arrived. They should be more proactive in getting a hold of folks and letting them know and make more attempts to reschedule. We didn't end up diving with them so I can't comment on that experience read more

I decided to get a couple of dives in while staying in Wailea and wanted to try diving Molokini. Found Prodiver on Yelp and saw the had good reviews and leave from Kihei which is a short trip to Molokini. Booked the trip for a Thursday dive. Showed up at the dock bright and early (6:15) and was greeted by Dave. We had 9 divers, 2 DMs (Dave and Dave), Captain was Joe and a deck person (forgot her name). The ride out to Molokini was about 15 minutes so a nice short trip for anyone that can get seasick. We were maybe the 4th boat out there. After a short dive briefing, we geared up and entered the water. Our Dave had four of us and we went in first. Visibility was good. For me the best part of the dive was hearing the humpback whales singing off in the distance. It was very cool to hear and my first time. We saw a lot of the usual suspects of fish, octopus, white tip reef shark. Dave found under the sand a long 'spire' mollusk, it was a good 8-10" in length. The deck lady was always there to grab my fins and very friendly. Once topside, the captain cut up a pineapple which was super sweet. They had muffins, cookies and juices for everyone. The second dive was Tank and landing craft, I believe. The visibility had gone down here but still was okay. This site had 2 octopus and various fish. To be honest it was nothing special to see with a lot of sand and grass in between the structures. Again the crew was friendly and made the trip fun. We were back at the dock around 10:45-11:00, so this gave me plenty of the day left to spend with the wife. I would dive with Prodiver next time I stay in Wailea. read more

This dive shop is fantastic. I chose this place based upon prior reviews and I was completely satisfied with this choice. I came here for my open water certification as an out of state traveler. They were accommodating on the phone when scheduling my trip. Kayla was our instructor and she was amazing. It was clear she knew what she her scuba skills inside and out. She made learning the skills easy and had patience with us when it took us a couple tries to accomplish our skills. She was encouraging and funny and made the experience great. We had two shore dives at Makenna landing followed by two boat dives: Molokini crater and Wailea Point. Each spot was phenomenal. We saw multiple fish, eel, two black tipped reef sharks, a spotted eagle ray, and encountered a playful turtle. Throughout all the fun parts of scuba, we practiced out skills in open water and succeeded with the patience of Kayla. Additionally, the boat staff and captains (Keone and Jen) were knowledgeable about the area and diving. They were entertaining and made sure we were all safe on the trip. Since we are not certified, they had us snorkel on the first dive and then taught us the scuba basics for the second dive. I had a fantastic time diving with Prodiver Maui this month. I guess because it was the holiday season, there were more of us in the boat but the ratio of 1 divemaster per 5 divers was maintained. There were hot drinks, cinnamon rolls and pineapple slices on the boat. We left early for the Molokini Crater and saw several humpback whales very near the edge of the crater! Due to the surf we didn't go all the way to the back wall but we were very close to it and were able to peek into the abyss. Saw a reef shark, and lots and lots of fish, crustaceans and coral. The visibility was impressive, despite the cloudy day that we went. However, the major highlight was hearing the whales sing. At first, I thought there was something wrong with my equipment, or my ears are doing something crazy while equalizing. But then I paused to listen and heard long grunts, chirps ... definitely some exchange going on ... and they were so very loud! The second dive site (St Anthony's wreck) was much less impressive, but some coral were already starting to establish themselves in the wreck (except the rubber tires). The captain jokingly said their last boat - which sank last year - may become a dive site, too. Wow, it's got to be the most awesome/awkward dive joke ever! Compared to other places I've dived, Molokini gets 4-stars and St Anthony's wreck gets 2-stars. The 5-star rating goes for the crew. They were very helpful and lots of fun; it is very clear that they are excellent at what they do and it came through with their professionalism and enthusiasm. The operation had a seamless quality to it and they really pamper their divers. I highly recommend going with them for your scuba adventure in Maui! read more

I've been out with Prodiver a couple times now and i've loved every experience! My first time out was just to snorkel while my friends were diving (I wasn't dive certified yet), and the crew pointed me in all the right directions for the best views and sea life sightings. While in route between dive locations they were watchful for whales and dolphins and gave us opportunities for great views of ocean life. I recently went through their open water dive certification too (PADI) and it's been fantastic! Our instructor - Jen - obviously loves what she does and it's wonderful to learn from someone so confident and happy in their job. As a student I really felt safe and supported through the whole program - she took great care in familiarizing us with all our equipment and it's proper use/care, and how to be safe/conscientious divers. Not only that, but whenever possible they use the ocean at Makena Landing for calm 'pool-like conditions' - you'll be swimming with beautiful fish and sea creatures while learning the underwater ropes! If you're looking for somewhere to get dive certified, and/or people to go diving with, I highly recommend these guys! read more

Completed our open water dives with Prodiver Maui. Our instructor, Morgan, was thorough and patient, helping me push through parts that I was a bit anxious about, at my own pace. Captains Jen and Keoni were great!! They made sure that we all had a good time, and that I was able to complete the dive, even after I panicked and needed a moment to get back in. There were snorkelers on the boat with us as well, and I appreciate how knowledgeable and attentive the crew was, ensuring that they stayed in appropriate areas. There were about 10 of us onboard, not including the crew, which was nice, as we saw larger tours out that day. There was another tour company out on the same day that reportedly lost a snorkeler. The water was a little choppy that morning, and not sure of all the details, but it did make me appreciate how seemingly attentive they were to those in the water at all times.
