Or dive instructor, Michael, was great at explaining and demonstrating the skills that we would be executing in the water for the PADI advanced open water diver course. The locations for each dive were excellent and the specifics were thoroughly explained beforehand. I've gone diving with Extended Horizons in the past and I'm happy that survived the fires and have resulted their amazing work, providing excellent experiences for visitors and giving back to the local community as well.

Michael was an amazing PADI instructor. We did our four PADI certification open water dives and it was an amazing experience. Thank you for your wonderful guidance. We are 66 and 67 and got certified!!! Woot woot !!!

Our family recently did our open water course to get certified with Extended Horizons. They were so accommodating and understanding since we all couldn't do it at the same time. Our dive master, Phil was so patient with me and got me through the first day when I wanted to quit (long story). Our kids dive master was Bruce and he was great with our kids! They were both we very knowledgeable, patient, and thorough. We highly, highly recommend this business and am extremely satisfied.

Refresher... I'm a Certified diver but I didn't dived in 10 years!! Because of all their reviews on here I decided that Extended Horizon is an excellent company to refresh my memory, because honestly I was nervous!!! From the start The lady in their office was super friendly and very professional! I scheduled 3 days after to go with an instructor. I met with Gustavo and he was so chill and so patient that I knew it going to be fun! Everything he said was very clear and I could tell he really loves what he do and loves to teach! Anyway Gustavo was amazing and my diving experience was just wowwww! I couldn't stop smelling and he promised sea turtles and he delivered!! Seeing those creatures swimming just made my vacation! Thank you Gustavo! Ask for him as your instructor!!

Captain Aarika, Ashley and Victoria were one word...FANTASTIC!!! These gals know how to make everyone feel welcome, run a well-oiled machine. Ask all the right questions and answer any questions their guests may have. The day we went out Maui and Mother Nature blesses us with whales, dolphins, a shark, oodles of fish and calm, clear water. This will be my go-to dive company now as long as these ladies are there! Keep up the fantastic work, I appreciate what you are doing! Box Fish Trish

On our vacation to Maui last week, we took trips out to the sea with Sea Maui twice. Our first trip…read moreout was an adults-only family excursion while the kids hung out with their grandma and auntie. The catamaran was pretty sweet, with some really comfy bean bags overlooking the edge out to the ocean. While we did occasionally get splashed in this area, it was worth the unobstructed view of the sunset and the breeze in my hair. The crew was especially sweet and treated all of us like absolute royalty. A note to those who are prone to motion sickness: do not try to be brave and only wear sea bands thinking you'll be okay. Take your Dramamine an hour before you board the catamaran. While the first half of our dinner cruise was fine with my motion sickness, the second half of the trip left me feeling really queasy around dinner service time. This made me very sad. This was no fault of the crew, and 100% my fault for thinking I could tough it out. If you are ill-prepared, the crew has ginger ale, club soda and ginger chews to help. Speaking of dinner, the few bites I was able to eat on our first trip were fantastic: a full dinner buffet prepared by Cafe Jai. The salmon was perfectly tender, as was the short rib. The caesar salad was just the right amount of tangy (and the extra dressing was really great on the salmon as well.) I'm not sure what kind of sauce was on the crispy seasoned potatoes but they were absolutely delightful. And of course, the crown on top of a delicious meal was the mini brownie cup we were served for dessert before we wrapped up the trip. Our second trip (where I was prepared with some Dramamine) was a memorial for our grandparents, where we released their cremains at sea with eco-urns. I must say that the crew handled everything wonderfully. We had the full bar, another beautiful buffet spread including some delicious crispy chicken, a pesto pasta salad, pulled beef sliders, and rolls. After we said our emotional goodbyes, we were given rose petals to release into the ocean. We even received certificates after the trip that gave us the coordinates of where my grandparents cremains were released. I seriously cannot thank Sea Maui enough for giving my family a truly memorable experience on our trip to Maui. They made our trip so special. A million thanks for the kindness!

The Irish gentleman who pre-briefed us before leaving for the tour had a great sense of humor and set the tone for our excursion. Once aboard, the Captain and his crew were polite, cordial, fun loving and efficient. The food was great and the crew busied theirselves insuring everyone was comfortable, had drinks and the proper snorkeling gear. We saw many, many whales and at least 12 displays of whales big and small leaping out of the water. The hour long snorkeling provided the passengers with a myriad of tropical fish and sea turtles. We even had one try to climb the ladder into the boat. The fees for the excursion were fair and we definitely got our moneys worth for all we saw and participated in. I highly recommend The Sea Maui if you are looking for a great experience for you and your family or tour group.

We would absolutely do it again. They even have a photographer, so we ended up buying a picture from them (although $40 seems a little overpriced for one photo). We met them on the beach as directed, and then we're ferried to the main boat from the dinghy in several groups, which took a few minutes. We spent a good chunk of time boating over to the first location, which was a ways away. I'm not sure if this was typical or not, but it was super rocky, and I watched an entire family get seasick and throw up several times. Is that our fault for choosing this location? If it *IS* typical conditions, is it the fault of the captain for not picking a less rocky site? We didn't throw up, but we were definitely nauseated and didn't even snorkel at the second site. Same went for that whole family that got seasick, lol. The snorkeling was fine, equipment was in good condition, and the fish were... ample enough. I'll give it up to the two crew members on the boat, they were helpful, friendly, and got us well-situated and kept us safe. The captain on the other hand, I'll agree with another reviewer, is that he seemed unnecessarily short/sarcastic with some nauseated passengers (and then overtly flirty with a few others, but I'm not going to broach that here...). I witnessed him get really short with an Asian woman trying to figure out how to lock the bathroom door and flush the toilet, which on a boat is not typical common knowledge. The food and drinks they provided were pretty good, very basic snacks and drinks that help us over until lunchtime. With more time and planning, I'd probably book with a snorkeling tour that's a bit more popular, and that goes to a more popular and less rocky site.
