We did a 2 tank dive with ProDiver and had a great experience all the way around. I have made many boat dives in many places, so I notice the details. These guys were on time, very friendly, very knowledgeable, and handled everything for us on the boat. Great sense of humor while remaining professional, Keone and Jen really bring a passion and great attitude with them. They were very patient both with the slow people and those hotshots who wanted to tear off on their own. I highly recommend these guys, I don't say that lightly, and I won't hesitate to dive with them again when I come back to Maui. I live on Maui and am a big diver. Prodiver is my favorite dive boat off South Maui. They leave from Kihei boat ramp making the trip to Molokini (backside if you're lucky) so much faster. Dive is finished and you still have a full day ahead rather than having a dive excursion take up over half your day. They only take up to 6 divers out and they tend to have more experienced clients, so you can do more adventurous dives. The captains and dive guides are some of the best on the island! read more

We had two great dives this morning thanks to Prodiver. Our boat captain was Wayne and the dive leaders were Dan and Gary. They also had a deck hand/extra diver assistant aboard (Hayden) in case we dove the back wall of Molokini Crater. Sadly, it was smashing rough back there, so we dove the interior reef instead. I appreciated the crew's attention to safety. The crew made it easy to get geared up and into the water. The ratio was 4:1. Visibility was great; the dive leaders were patient and showed us lots of cool marine life. Our second dive was at the Red Hill, a wonderful drift dive full of turtles. Prodivers made everything easy, pleasant, and safe. read more

This is the BEST diving trip that I've had in my 20 years of diving experience. The crew was fun, safe, genuine, experienced and most of all, very cool. The dive was absolutely spectacular. The setting was beautiful and several encounters of exotic marine animals such as frog fish, puffer fish, blue dragons, sharks (harmless ones) and several others. The boat Captain, Keone, was the best Captain that I've ever had in a diving trip. He even helped my girlfriend and I get a awesome discount at these suites in a hotel. It was so generous and that gesture saved our vacation. He even invited us for a drink later. The hospitality of the crew and Captain was unparalleled. This was an unforgettable experience and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this trip. It's a must see! read more

Excellent EXCELLENT dive experience this morning with Brian and Matt of Prodivers Maui! I agree with the positives from all other reviewers said PLUS: They managed me deciding to bail on the first dive perfectly. I've got about 85 dives behind me, but I dive infrequently now and I always hate bobbing on the surface and feeling how resistant the regulator flow is before I get down to 20 feet or below. This time I started to hyperventilate, which is not on the Safe Diving checklist anywhere, for sure. I went back to the boat, chilled on the ladder, tried again, hyperventilated again and decided to be safe and bail. Matt was monitoring me the whole time in the water, Brian took care of me when I got out. Brian encouraged me to snorkle above the divers (seriously cool against the wall behind Molokini) and that gave me the chance to adjust to that nasty I-can't-quite-get-enough-air-through-this-damn-tube feeling. He also pointed out that a horizontal position is more important than a depth level in increasing air flow into the lungs, and another diver said she always snorkles the day before diving to increase her comfort level. Anyway - next dive, I plopped in, rolled horizontal, submerged, totally fine! Matt and Brian were safe, courteous and encouraging with me while never shortchanging, endangering or inconveniencing the other divers. Fabulous! read more

Props to Paul and Liz of Prodiver for taking us out on a pair of stellar dives. First we hit Molokini, and then they took us to Red Hill where we saw dolphins, turtles, eels, and so much more. They explained the choice of dive sites (which they based on conditions to give us the best visibility) and Liz really went out of her way to educate us on the marine life and formations which we'd be seeing. Captain Paul was great getting us to the sites and getting us in and out of the boat. They were super professional, friendly and accommodating. My wife came out and snorkeled along above us (she's not certified yet) and they took really great care of her as well. Small diving group (5 divers, 1 snorkeler, dive master and captain). Pro Diver Maui - Scuba Diving Near Me - Kihei, Hawaii

This was an superb dive boat!! Well worth getting up at 4:30 AM (I was cursing when I woke up, wondering what I was doing). We were lucky to have 2 divers cancel, so only 4 of us went out! Gary was our captain and he was extremely friendly, personable, and helpful! Not only was all my gear set up, broken down, and then set up again, but Gary brought me coffee and yummy muffins. They have sodas, hot tea, water, hot coffee and snacks. Matt was our divemaster and he pointed out all the critters, as well as gave us flexibility in the dive. He wasn't "follow the flag" style but made sure to show us the way around. As a new diver, I felt safe and had a great time! We made it back before 10AM, just as many other boats were arriving in Molokini (we were the first and only boat the Backwall for the first dive). Going out of Kihei is easy and close to Molokini. My husband and I may switch to staying in Wailea just to be closer to dive with Prodiver on our next trip! PS: The owners on the telephone are very nice too. read more

Great boat and crew! Fun day in the water! Surprise Manta Rays!

The dive locations were fantastic, the overall experience was just so, so. My husband and I dove the back wall of Molokini first and this was amazing. However, I had just received my certification and was a little uncertain. I don't think our guide Scott was aware that I was afraid (despite the fact that he knew I was a new diver). I hung out at the surface trying to collect myself for a minute or so. He attempted to pull me down at first and then once he realized I was having problems he surfaced and tried to calm me down. I felt rushed to go under and felt like I was holding up the group. Our second dive site was at 5 caves. We were informed that we would only be able to dive as long as the discovery diver (she did not have her certification), who was along for the ride, had air. We were much slower than the other group and did not get to see as much. What made it even more disappointing, is that while Scott was instructing the discovery diver, we sat on the boat and listened to Jen's description of where she was going to take her group and all of the cool stuff they would see. Once we got in the water, Scott didn't seem to have any plans as to where we were going and didn't seem to care quite as much as the other guide Jen. What made this dive experience good was the spectacular water clarity of Molokini. The crew on board the boat were great as well. The Captain and Jen were very friendly and informative. Wish we could have gone with Jen. If it is possible to choose your guide, my recommendation would be to do so. read more

Great outfit. Used them because of the "blue book" review and it was exactly as they said. Laid back and very professional. Did 1 trip where we did the inside of the crater and they knew I wanted to do the outside so we arranged to come back 3 days later with an "advanced boat" and we did the back wall and had a Manta hang out for 15 minutes and multiple sharks with incredible visibility. These guys are good and *very* easy to work with. Just show up at 6am and off you go. read more

I went out with Brian (Captain) and Lizzie (Dive master). These guys are a class act with great service. We did the Molokini Back wall and it was phenomenal! Lizzie was patient and very knowledgeable and pointed out a White tip reef shark, lobsters, ghost shrimp among other marine animals. They were also very flexible about the second dive location and polled all the divers. The small number of divers really helps them offer 5-star quality service! My 13 year old son did his open water referral dives with ProDiver and they were awesome. His instructor, Kerry, was knowledgeable, fun and great with my son. He not only learned a ton about diving but also about the fish and underwater life in Maui. Equipment was in great shape and plenty of sizes to fit a smaller teen. We then did 2 days of boat dives which were great. All the staff were wonderful and approachable. Keone was a great captain and found us the best spots to dive. Would definitely recommend ProDiver for certification and for boat dives. read more

Jay and JB (or is it JD..sorry I can't remember :), both were fantastic from start to finish! The pool session was awesome and hugely beneficial for our daughter (14) who was feeling a little anxious about the dive. Jay was encouraging and calm and understood the reason for the anxiety. If not for him, I am not sure she would have gone through with it. The shore dive was amazing! All 4 of us dove and we saw some great things, turtles, snowflake eels, a manta ray and so much more! Our two kids, 14 and 16 had a great first time dive experience! They loved it so much we booked a second dive! Prodiver is just as good as described in "Maui Revealed". Truly the best dive shop on Maui. I've dove with seven different dive shops on the various Hawaiian islands, and Prodiver ranks right at the top with Big Island Divers and Fathom Five on Kauai. The crew was fun, the dives didn't feel rushed and boat wasn't crowded. They seem focused on their customers having the best time possible and don't treat you like a number, like some other large dive groups. If you only dive with one company on Maui, make that company Prodiver. read more

my family and i really enjoyed our time with prodiver maui! from my initial phone calls with robin to get info and schedule our dive, to our captain jen, and our dive master jordan, we felt so comfortable and taken care of! it was also our first time diving with an all girl group and it was awesome :-) my only area of question was that the reservation was for a 2 tank dive including molokini backwall but we ended up doing reef's end instead and there wasn't any explanation or notice that we wouldn't be doing the backwall. it ended up being fine since we were a little nervous for the backwall, but it would have been nice to get an explanation or heads up beforehand. otherwise an amazing crew and great price! thank you prodiver! read more

I have to echo all of the other fantastic comments here about Prodiver. While Lahahina Divers is a really good shop, they can't compete with the personal touch and small groups Prodiver offers. The captain and divemasters are fantastic. The only downside is that they leave from Kihei, which is a bit of a drive from where I typically stay in Ka'anapali. read more

Lizzie has incredible knowledge of the local species we saw and Brian was great on the boat. The small boat and group was great. They were very aware of everyone's experience level and tailored the dives accordingly. My only regret was not booking more dives with them during my trip. Had a great time doing two dives at Molokini and the St. Anthony ship wreck. Our group instructor Missy did a great job. The gear was all pretty new and worked really well and the crew was helpful and took good care of all the divers. Also the briefing was very thorough and helped with the dive quite a bit. I would definitely recommend this company for diving. My wife came along for the snorkeling, which was not a good idea as the snorkelers were not a big concern for anybody and for the price of almost 100$ not worth it. It would be nice when you book the trip that they would mention that it is not a recommended trip for snorkelers. But overall, a really enjoyable experience and a definitely recommendable company. read more

I just finished 3 days of private dives with Prodiver. The front side of Molokini was a bit boring and they never let me know this would be the case in advance of the diving. The inside was far better as was the McKenna Beach dive. The staff was great and helped with all the equipment and did all the changes of the gear to new tanks between dives. My Wife and I went out with Prodiver recently and had such a great time, I had to post online about it. The first impression was what a great time the Captain and crew were having at work. Check-in was quick, easy and coffee was provided, then off we went. The ride to Molokini was smooth, and we were treated to some buns and croissants. Try the Honey butter, YUM! We had Missy as our DM, her briefing was thorough and detailed. These guys love to drift Molokini if they can, luckily we were able to do so that day. The first dive was great, 100'++ visibility, beautiful yellow frogfish that Missy found for us, and white tip reef sharks were the highlight. Fresh cut pineapple and beverages available in-between the dives, and then a great shallow dive with turtles for dive two. The things that stood out most for me; we never felt rushed, the crew were so much fun, but obviously experienced, well trained and safety conscious. We cant thank you enough for the amazing morning of diving we had. Mahalo Capt Keone, Missy, Scott, and Jen. We'll be back, and will highly recommend your charter to all our peeps. read more
