Top-notch food, welcoming vibe, great vibrant ambiance! Restaurant was brimming with activity and we were fortunate to get seats. Fellow diners, who were all locals, were friendly and even made recommendations on what to order! The pizzas were memorable and the drinks were free! Thanks to the wonderful staff who made this meal a Rome Trip highlight.

Forgot the name but it's a white pizza with potato and a Smokey meat.

Great pizza and service. The crust was amazing. Definitely seems like a place locals eat, stayed a bit during the closing hours between lunch and dinner and every table had a reservation card. The menu changes daily and does not come in English, but our waitress translated and explained every single item. I definitely recommend!

Thanks to the Yelp's Rome Community Manager, Salvatore C, I had the great pleasure of dining at Pro Loco! Pro loco was out of this world delicious! The minute I saw the restaurant I fell in love! Its decor is super cute and rustic. The pizza oven and pizza masters (yes masters) are right there tossing and creating pizza masterpieces! The service was excellent! Everyone was eager to help and answered all of our questions and more! The food was amazing. The cacio e pepe was simply perfect. The pepper was just right. Not over powering at all. We tried multiple pizzas which were all uniquely delicious. The wine selection was excellent as well. Definitely miss Rome and this place. We went back before we left Rome. A must try!

My new, absolute favorite place in Rome! I was starving at about 6 walking around, went back to my BnB to use the wifi to check yelp for some nice eateries when I stumble across a few. Being a 23 y/o foreign girl it's so awkward to roam around rome looking for a place to eat by yourself. I had seen this place as an option but another restaurant had a better rating with more reviews... When it came time to venture out, I checked out the #1 recommendation and it was already packed so I swiftly walked on by. I got to the patio of Pro Loco Pinciano and I couldn't help but think, "How absolutely charming!" And of course, like the tourist in me, I snapped a few photos of the outdoor patio and bodega-like entrance. Waltzed in and voila! a table for one. The second the hostess and my waitress realized I was American they spoke in English to assist me further. Such smiling, knowledgable staff. I felt the most comfortable there on my own than any other place I'd been over the course of my two week stay in the city. My waitress was so helpful, as I tend to be indecisive, and I enjoyed every single taste. The food was dreamy. I started with a light and salty fried fish appetizer, carried on with a spinach and ricotta ravioli lightly covered in butter and sage and finished with a sweet sfoglia -a cookie, pastry-like, dessert- all the while enjoying my buttery white wine that she also recommended! If you're visiting or just looking for someplace new, I highly suggest this little gem. From the service, the atmosphere and presentation, to each and every divine bite: A+, Five stars!

The best creme brûlée I have ever had with a glass of Mirto

My wife and I stumbled on this place and couldn't have been happier. Admittedly we only had dessert but the staff was great and the menu looked interesting and even had some vegan option. This was the best creme brûlée I have ever had so definitely save room! Finally, try a glass of Mirto. It is a Sardinian myrtle liqueur and while my wife didn't like it I thought it was fantastic!

Didn't have a reservation, but they were able to seat us. Food was AMAZING! Was surprised at how cheap our bill was for 2 pizzas, and 2 bottles of water. The staff was very courteous and friendly and the environment and decor really made the experience!

Extremely good and authentic Roman food. Our dinner was exquisite and we loved the wine selection so much we ordered 6 to go.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and if you're sitting outside on a sunny day, the staff is very attentive about adjusting the shades so you're comfortable. They will adjust even without you having to ask. I ordered the artichoke as an appetizer which was very good, I recommend getting this if they are in season. I also ordered the carbonara, and it was by far the best I had while in Rome perfectly creamy, rich, and full of flavor without being too heavy. You can really tell they focus on doing the classics right. What stood out beyond the food was how efficiently the staff operated. Despite how busy the restaurant gets, they move quickly and keep everything running smoothly, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, this is a must-visit spot if you're in Rome. Expect a wait, but it's 100% worth it for the quality of the food and service.

By the time we were seated, dozens of people were waiting behind us. We sipped an Aperol spritz and lemonade while we waited, chatting with fellow diners who raved about the restaurant. On a sweltering day, our kids were starting to struggle in the heat when the owner came outside and gave them mini pizzas breads. It was a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. Once seated, we ordered burrata, cacio e pepe, amatriciana pasta, pork chops, and fried artichokes. Everything was excellent, but the amatriciana was the standout--rich, savory, and unforgettable. The cacio e pepe was silky, the burrata fresh and creamy, the pork chops juicy, and the fried artichokes perfectly crisp. There's a reason people line up for Da Enzo. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere lively, and the hospitality remarkable. Without question, this was our best meal in Rome and one of our most memorable restaurant experiences.

Super pizza place with a lot of other great stuff on the menu…read more I looked with envy at the other tables who were enjoying spectacular plates of spaghetti with mussels. * * * That said, my pizza was a grand slam home run. Many of their pizzas are quite elaborate With all sorts of exotic ingredients. I went super simple. Gorgonzola. Mozzarella. That's it. Just enough Mozzarella to cut the Gorgonzola and make for a good melt. * * * If you have never had a gorgonzola pizza, you have never lived. Just sayin'. * * * P.S. My lovely wife got a Norwegian salmon pizza. The Norwegian salmon was stacked up high on her pizza As if she was in the World Series of Poker and she was a big winner. I have never seen so much salmon on one plate. After our meal, I made a discreet phone call to the Norwegian embassy in Rome asking them if they still had any salmon left. The woman at the embassy assured me the Norwegian salmon supply was fine. That surprises me given all the salmon that was on my wife's pizza.

Being new to Rome, and having walked 20k steps on our first day, there are an abundance of options a for dining. We wanted something classically Rome nearby to our hotel. The Yelp review of this restaurant was sufficiently positive to entice us. Being American, we appreciate the earlier-than-customary dining options. We arrived at 6pm without a reservation. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is intimate and very well staffed. The wood fire oven is front-and-center and the fresh mozzarella is prominent in display. We ordered a bottle of wine ... all options are very fairly priced. This is nice. We started with a Greek salad to share. It was unlike any American Greek salad ... and a really delight. It is early June but the tomatoes and peppers were ripe and crisp and really fresh. My wife ordered the Marguerite pizza; I opted for the Gorgonzola pizza (the effusive review on Yelp was compelling). Both were solid. We appreciate the thin crust and the crisp edged. The center of both, however, was doughy and somewhat undercooked. Looking around ... the restaurant was over 50% full even at this early hour. Most were Americans. We saw a good number of diners with pasta dishes ... and none were left unfinished. Sadly, we don't have any comparisons to weigh (yet). So, I cannot affirm any "best of" citations, it this is certainly a solid trattoria/pizzeria. The staff are attentive and the food served hot and fresh.
