Felt like shoplifters or something. When my daughter called to say this made her wonder if they want our business, the owner yelled at her. I could hear it from across the room. My mom moved here in July and I have been taking her there every month since. She went today and wanted to treat me to a manicure. She paid and gave a tip for both of us but a worker there chased us in the parking lot because she thought we didn't tip my manicurist. First, we had. Second, a tip is not obligatory. Neither is chasing a customer. I felt like a thief being chased through the parking lot. Not going back. PS. I called them to tell them I was unhappy and the first person claimed to be the owner but then said the owner would call me. When the owner called me, he was rude and yelled at me. He also said no one had chased me but she did. These people are rude. AVOID. I went to the salon to decrease my stress level and left feeling worse than when I shoplifted a toy mouse when I was five. read more

Updating my review because for what I come here for they do a fantastic job. So to start things off and explain why I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is because they are a good salon for the basic things. If you are looking to get an acrylic set or a manicure design I would look elsewhere. They don't have any nail gems or show any acrylic designs they can do. What I come here for is basic mani + pedis and they do a phenomenal job in my opinion. You always get a great complimentary back massage while you are either getting your nails done or while you are drying. The salon is always super clean also and even though they might seem packed they always have about 10 people on hand so there never has been a wait for me. read more

2 of my nails chipped after 5 days of getting a powder fill. I called at 10:00 am to see if I could get in on my lunch break just for a quick touch up. Explained to man on the phone my lunch break was at 12:00. He said no, he was booked I could come at 1:00. Never mind thank you anyway. Shame because I was making this my to go place to get my nails and pedicure every two weeks. It was close to my work in Setauket. Now I'll find another nail salon. Their loss. The nail tech tells me $28 bucks for a mens pedi and the same pedi for women is $18 bucks? Isn't that a bunch of fooey? More $$ for guys and we don't even use polish? Then, my wife decides that she wants a manicure. Oh no, you said only mani, there is no time for manicure. No time? WTF lady, do you have time to cure cancer or fix the broken pipe in the gulf of Mexico?? Then, somehow the magical "Time" appears and now she can get a pedicure. Pro Nails, I'm breaking up with you. They did a good job, glad I went at the time I did which was on Saturday around 330, we were the only ones in there and then it got very crowded so the place is obviously a good one. Great place! Only been here for manicures so far, but I love them. Their powder manicures are amazing and last way longer than any other place I've ever been to. I love Maya for my powder dip and my mom loves Ellie for her standard manicure. Prices are good, they never seem like they're rushing, and they will always try to accommodate you even if you're a walk in. Clean and friendly, highly recommend. read more

The worst nail salon! I went to get a gel manicure. Every nail was cut and filed to a different length. I decided to get matte and it was a disaster. To be honest I am not good at doing my own nails but if I did they would look a lot better. I would not recommend going there at all. Stay away. read more

Why is it so hard to find a decent nail salon? I recently moved, so I've been trying to find some new regular spots. I was going grocery shopping in the same parking lot when I saw this place. There were a fair amount of people inside, so I thought I'd give it a try. I got a below average mani/pedi and it cost me $40:( I feel ripped off. There seemed to be a lot of regulars inside. Honestly, I don't get it. The environment is very lax and I found that to be a turnoff. There was a little girl (one of the worker's children) running around and at one point she came out of the back with a half eaten ear of corn and made a woman who I assume was her mother take it. The woman proceeded to take several bites while in the middle of doing someone's nails. DISGUSTING!!! There was also a woman getting a pedicure who sent her son/boyfriend? idk lol to get her food which she proceeded to eat while getting her pedicure. He was allowed to sit in the pedi chair next to her (not getting a pedicure) putting his dirty sneakers all over the pedicure chair. Getting a mani/pedi is supposed to be a calm, quiet, and stress free experience. This was anything but. I can only surmise that the people who are going here are going here out of convenience, which is what lured me in today. I should have driven the extra 10 minutes to Grace Nails in Stony Brook. I was being lazy. Or, I could have run in to the drug store next door for some nail polish and done my nails myself. I'd be better off. I won't go back. read more

Bill S. is full of BS. My girlfriend just had her nails did and she cant stop talking about how well the nail tech took care of her cuticles. Plus it was only $13 and she got a free paraffin wax. I'm sure Bill S had disgusting feet and they had to charge him extra. I wouldn't trust a word he says. I would even go so far as to imagine he's just making his review up to cover for his daddy issues. I've seen some of his other reviews, which always seem negative. so i went here because i usually go to the pro nails in elmont and thought they would be similar since i was in the area and needed a nail fixed. when i called to ask how much it was and when to come the guy said to come in an hour bc they were very busy. i dont know if everyone left but when i arrived 45 mins later... not one person was in there and he actually was out to lunch. the lady fixing my nail did a fine job, however, she was trying to tell me that they charge more there bc they use better quality products...weird because that exact nail broke 4 days later.... read more

I received a gift card for Christmas and went to get SNS. I have had SNS for months normally last 3-4 weeks. I got these done 2 weeks ago in the first week my pointer finger chipped. Then my thumb polish completely cracked. I will never go back to this place people told me to go back and have them fix it I just don't want them to do another horrible job. Listen ladies (and Bill the "Elite" yelp business basher) this salon has since been under new management and is now by far one of my favorite salons. My manicurist (James) took such great care of my cuticles, which are short and hard to work with, that I would come back for that alone. Not to mention the prices are incredibly affordable and the polish lasted for a week, kind of extraordinary for french tips. I was even given a free paraffin treatment on my $12 french tip mani. The best place! It's the only place I will go to get my nails done. Suzy is phenomenal. She shapes my nails beautifully. They look perfect every time. I have my own nails, but I do the gel over them with the gel polish. They use LED lights which are the safest. And she doesn't make the gel too thick, which keep them looking natural. Worst pedicure ever. Polish starting peeling and chipping less than 24 hours after the pedicure, and it seemed like the soles of my feet were worse off afterwards than when I came in. Manicure was a bit better. Polish is still going strong 1 week later but my cuticles looked like I had chewed them after he was done. read more

Pro Nails has New owners. They are a young married couple who have made many upgrades to the salon. It looks beautiful,bright and very CLEAN. They have added a medical grade sterilizer, disposable liners for the pedicure chairs and disposable files and nail buffers. Many of the staff members are still there. Let me clarify my 1-star rating. I give them 1 star to get their attention and hope that they will improve upon what I'm about to say. I've been going to this salon for many years now and recently they've been handing out free massages while a customer is getting their nails done. I looked forward to this extra perk every time I went. The past 4 times I've gone they never came. Can one say this is a first world problem and I should shut up..absolutely. I'm with you on that. I just happened to have a bad day and hoped that the recent trend wouldn't continue. I've wracked my brain over why they've skipped over me. I tip them $5 every time, so that's not it. I don't fidget or come across uncomfortable. I damn well welcome it with a smile of relief. I haven't been a regular lately due to finances, but today called for it. I have to assume that they will only give out these massages to the women that look like they have money and will tip. My nails came out great. They might be a little rough with the cuticles and I might have teared up a little during the skin tearing, but overall they look nice. THIS is probably an obnoxious review for all that read it. You're probably thinking I'm a jerk. I only wanted to express to the business that if it's suppose to be a free massage to keep the customers coming back, then make time for all instead of just the ones that look like they'll pay you. reviews had me nervous and unsure of what to expect but had a friend recently go and said she had no problems ... i walked in as the first customer of the day only needing my gel manicure soaked off none of the tools were clean, all dusty and when asked for clean ones - they were ONLY wiped off. while soaking off: a girl came over asking if i wanted a wax, another girl came over asking if i wanted a massage. LEAVE ME BE and don't be pushy. asked the girl to fix my nails and file them over twice as they were crooked !!! i was charged $15 for soaking off my gel and getting my nails CUT-NO POLISH when told the price i asked why so much and she was annoyed and scuffed at me. Inconsistent. Sometimes they're good and sometimes they're awful. Lately, they are mostly awful. Sloppy work and chipped toe nails in a week leads me to believe that they're cutting the polish which is not okay especially now that they've raised the price to $25 for a basic pedicure. And where's my back massage? One of the big draws is the little freebie back massage. I got a big fat nothing today from the new man that just started. That's just not saying okay. Besides the time my nail tech (at another salon) cut me and I bled for 15 minutes, this was the worst manicure I've ever gotten! I asked Michael, who removed my gel manicure and polished me with gel again, to not cut my cuticles because they are extremely sensitive and are very easily nicked. Michael managed to FILE my cuticles until they bled on multiple fingers. They then burned as he continuously used acetone to clean my nails, they burned when he polished them, and they burned when they went under the UV light. He was so bad at polishing my nails that he consistently dipped his thumb nail into acetone and DRAGGED it across my already sore and bleeding cuticles to remove the polish from my skin. He even decided that the polish was so messed up on two fingers that he wrapped them up with acetone cotton balls and tin foil all over again to re-do them. Let me tell you, it was lovely having an acetone-covered cotton ball sitting on my raw cuticles. I was so worked up after the whole thing I couldn't wait to get out of there. This salon is the closest one to my house and I will surely never go back there. read more

I switched to Pro nails when my nail tech. moved there. The salon is nice and clean, certainly not "high end" but what I would expect for the prices. I get French gel tips and they are amazing and last 2 weeks looking perfect and I only need to go to fill in the grow out. The employees are always friendly and I always get at least a 10 min. massage gratis. I would certainly recommend this salon read more

I chose this place on a whim and was delighted by how many gel colors were available, as many salons don't have a big selection. When I walked in the woman at the desk greeted me and actually walked me over to the colors and picked one out for me - and proceeded to tell me my first color choice was awful for my skin tone. Maybe she was just being honest. After that I asked if she accepted credit cards and she said yes. I got a gel manicure by Sera, and she took her time and was very nice. I went to pay with my card and noticed there was no room for a tip. I asked if it was possible to leave a tip on the card and the same woman said no. Since it was my first time she allowed me to leave the tip on the card, but next time she warned I wouldn't be able to. Also about 5 days later my manicure started chipping. Guess I'll have to keep looking for a new salon. read more
