Now after having my full set of gel nails for one and a half weeks, I have four out of 10 of the nails left still attached. This is incredibly unusual, because in the past when I have gotten a gel set, it has been able to keep for at least two weeks, sometimes three, before I get a fill-in. Then after the fill, the nails would last another two or three weeks. I went in to ask for a refund and the male who works there offered to fix it, but refused to refund. Said he needed to "see the nails to determine the cause." Well most of the nails that came off, I never even realized until after the fact that they were gone! Worst experience! Took well over 2 hours for a mani/pedi, and am going to have to go get them redone. A woman who came in at least 20 minutes after me got the same services and was done 20 minutes sooner. So disappointed. Complained and was told that the they can't do a refund because the credit card companies "don't work on the weekend". Miraculously when I stated I'd dispute the whole charge, she was able to refund the manicure. Was told to contact the owner, Henry, but had already been told he left and went to Vietnam, and may not come back -ever. They sent me out of the shop with my nails looking like a 10 year old did them. Have never been more disappointed in a nail salon. Today I got a no chip manicure and a regular pedicure. The pedicure was nice. The lady went a little fast but, wasn't terrible, it just wasn't as relaxing as I hoped. I, then got a no chip and was told the color I wanted (OPI Mod About You) was old and that it wasn't good to use for a no chip anymore so they picked me a color "similar" which wasn't close at all, it was way too dark. So I told them I wanted a lighter color, so it would be bright, and the owner heard them discussing what color to give me and just brought over the original opi color I wanted. The guy who did my manicure filed my nails down very short.... I had took my time to grow out my nails so I was kinda disappointed when he did this. I told him to just shape them , not cut, when he asked how I wanted him to trim my nails and he filed them down to virtually nubs. And got no chip polish on the skin around my nail which set under the uv lamp so i can't peel it or it will ruin my manicure totally... Paid $60 and overall not impressed. Probably won't be going back and will just try another nail place in DeKalb / sycamore. I heard lots of good about this place so I'm kind of upset the service wasn't up to my standards read more

I thought I would try this Salon today because a neighbor gets her nails done there and they always look nice. When I entered I was greeted by a friendly woman. I was able to choose a color easily because they had a very extensive supply and all of their bottles were in good condition nothing looked too dried-out out and clumpy. Peter was the gentleman who did my pedicure I would say he seemed to rush through it and didn't engage me in conversation at all. The Polish was put on a little thin and not as neatly as I've had done in the past. Overall not the worst pedicure but far from the best. Next was my manicure and it was done by Kenny a very nice man who was easy to have conversation with. My manicure was done in a timely fashion but not rushed. Kenny did a fantastic job he shaped each one of my nails evenly and they ended up looking great. I had chosen a CatEye polish which I had never even seen applied before but was happy to have it done when it was all over it was a great finish and looked very nice. The shop was very clean and the prices were comparable to other shops in the area. I came as a walk-in a little before 6. My pedicurist, Ann, was talkative and funny! She did an amazing job on my feet/toes and was a delight to talk to. My manicurist (didn't catch his name) was rather reserved but did a fantastic job as well. I have been places close to closing and had them practically push you out the door, but he took it his to make sure my nails looked great. I went in to get Gel Nails put on, and the experience was awful. It has been a while since I've had fake nails, so I had a lot of questions about the difference between acrylic and gel, which the guy did not respond to very well. They didn't really answer my questions very well, and the process of putting on the nails was really painful! The guy seemed to be doing everything really rough and at one point my finger started bleeding down by my cuticle! I also was really picky on the shape of my nails (because I wanted them to look as natural as possible) and he seemed frustrated that I kept asking him to do specific things. I have gone here a few times in the past 2 or 3 years. I have been generally pleased until recently. My daughter and I came in for pedicures for my birthday. Mine felt good and looked great... my daughter (she is in her 20s) said the young girl was pretty rough on her nails and cuticles. This place is awful. Made an apt becuz I was from out of town and at the local hospital due to a very ill family member. Had a 3PM pedicure appt....they finally got to me at 3:30. This place doesn't cater to appts...only walk ins...so the walk ins came first and the appts they just fit in!!! The spa water was COLD and I sat with the jets on for 20 minutes b 4 they even began. They spent a total of 20 minutes on my feet start to finish. $25 for something I could have done better at home. And they are Oriental and cant be understood in English plus they chatter to each other (all 6 of them in a foreign language) which is rude and unprofessional. A production line at best. I was in town visiting family and needed a manicure and pedicure before my vacation and a family member recommended this place based on friends who have gone here. Boy oh boy, were they completely wrong. This was the worst experience I have ever had with nail salon. Went in and put in a chair for pedicure right away. The water was scorching hot and when I complained I was told to stop being baby. I got up to leave and she put me in another chair with cooler water so I would not walk out. She grabbed utensils that were previously used. I again complained and she went to the back and grabbed a new pack, shoved them in my face and said "sterile enough for you?" Again went to leave but got an apology. This chick was horrible. She stabbed me a few times with the clippers and was pissed that I had brought my own new unopened nail polish in with me. She wanted me to use one of theirs. I said no, the color I brought was what I wanted. Then she became more hostile when I would not "up" my services to a more expensive pedicure. I wanted something simple and a new color only. When she started to "massage" my legs she started slapping on them and I asked her to stop because it hurt. She rolled her eyes at me and called me something under her breath. She had another tech finish the job. My manicure was no better. I simply wanted a clear coat on because I was going on vacation. The young man who provided the service was nice at first but when I refused to get fake nails on he got cold and distant. Again, previously used tools were pulled out and I again questioned their cleanliness. He looked at me and said there is alcohol in the cup. There wasn't because you could hear the tools hit he bottom of the cup when he put them back in to it. He spoke PERFECT English when I sat down. But after I said no to fake nails he got pissy and turned on show tunes. Every time I tried to ask a question he would turn up the music and sign louder. At one point he got called away from his station. He had put two coats on my left hand but only one on the right. When he returned he told me he was done. I said no, you need to put the last coat on my right hand. He looked at me and said he didn't understand. Then tried to fake that he didn't speak English at all. "Me no understand, me no speak English." This after he told me he was born in America and talked at length about his sister in college. Needless to say my polish was chipping before I boarded my plane the next day, and I got an infection on my nail. This place is unhealthy, unsafe and a joke. This is the worst place around here to get your nails done. I went in today to get my acrylics removed. After being told that I was having a "panic attack" when the man tried popping them off with a nail tip (that hurts), he let me soak them off. In burning hot acetone that came from the microwave. The acetone was SO hot, it burnt my finger tips. I told him that I was in a time crunch and had to be to work. He left me sitting for 20 minutes to go to the back and eat and sit on his phone. When he finally came back and finished removing my nails, he buffed them so hard he left cuts on my fingers and cuticles. I was completely uncomfortable the whole time being in there. My hands and feet are so happy! Two weeks ago, I made my first visit to Christy. I recently made the decision to remove my fake nails after 20 years. Christy took the time to carefully soaked and filed and soaked and filed until the fake nails were gone, but my own nails were in good shape. A great manicure and no chip polish left me believing I would go on without my fake nails. I returned today for a new color. The polish and nails were just fine, probably could have gone another week, but I like to change color. Again, my nails and hands look wonderful. Pedicures here are just as good as the manicures. My feet are smooth, buffed, neatly polished and looking good. Callouses and corns are smooth. Nails are all one length and nicely shaped. Cuticles are trimmed wonderfully. If you haven't been here, try it out - it's the best nail place in the area. And I've tried them all. If you have been here, but it was before April 2015, give it another try. well, ill start off by saying that at my first visit to this nail salon i felt that i had finally found a place that met all my expectations: clean, sanitary, comfortable, nice tv's and very polite and professional staff. the pedicure was perfect and for the money($32) you get the works. upon my second visit to this salon i came on a thursday afternoon(very busy) and i tell them im looking to get a pedicure and they say sure and quickly bring me back to a pedicure chair and ask me to sit a bit for the next available nail tech. i waited a good 25 min, and the water in the tub was ice cold. then when the tech finally shows she gets up every 3 minutes to do credit card transactions because apparently she is the only person in the whole salon that knows how to swipe a cc. besides that, i had 3 different women do my pedicure. one to scrub them, another to do the mask and lotion and one to paint them.Also, i work in the service industry myself, and i was always taught to not smoke during my shift becuase it really sinks into your clothes, hair, ect...and everyone there reaked of smoke. very unappealing. upon leaving i found that 2 of my nails were smeared and i think they dilute thier nail polishes becuase my nails looked matte and thin. anyhow, if you like a bunch of people working on you and sitting for a long time, you'll like this place. if you do check it out, go in the mid-morning...probably less busy. read more

Less than one star!! There were two other people waiting when the three of us walked in on aSunday for pedicures. Then three others came in and were told to come back in a half hour. Two others came in during our 1/2 hr rwait. They brought us back and then said oh these aren't working go sit down again. We waited another 15 minutes and they took the two who came in after us! The first and original two asked why they took them first and they said because there were two of them. We waited 15 min more minutes. The original two got up and left. Then we got up to leave. We had a gift certificate and asked for the money back as they're poor costumer service and we would never back. We were declined.
