I popped in to this place on a Friday afternoon for a quick mani. I was taken right away with no waiting time, which I liked. Their nail polish selection is a bit disappointing, with most colors being Orly (which I have used in the past and does not long as long for me as OPI and/or Essie). However, I wanted a mani for the shaping and not for the color. My nail tech did a great job of filing my nails. She trimmed the cuticles a bit short, but I didn't mention for her not to do this, so I can't fault her. They also use fresh packs of tools, which is also nice. My nail polish is already chipping a bit (it's Monday afternoon), but other than that, I am pretty satisfied with the service. read more

Normally Pro Q is my favorite nail salon in the city. Today I went in, and asked for the deluxe pedicure and to have the SNS dip nails done. They ran out of material to do the deluxe pedicure (she said they ran out of hot towels) and so they just have me a normal pedicure. They tried to make me pay for the deluxe pedicure though I had not been given the deluxe. When it was time for me to move from a pedicure chair to a table to have my nails done, the nail technician pulled a pair of the disposable flip flops out of the trash and then acted quite rude when I asked "Have those been used?". I ended up just paying for my pedicure and not doing my nails. read more

I've been going here for about a year now and I always go to ally and baba. They are very attentive and good a what they do. Baba is super funny and did a more than a wonderful job on my nails. This place has been great in the past. But the manager is a horrible nightmare! I paid almost $40 & came back for him to fix them & he became irate & yelled in my face in front of all the other customers. He would not let me speak & told me never to come back. He left my nails half done & wouldn't let any other workers fix them. It was unprofessional & the man has some anger issues. I have been a customer and a fan for about a year now. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I manage a retail store and work with my hands, so having nice nails gets me lots of compliments and a base to speak with my customers about. I usually end up giving my customers a business card for this place. John is my nail artist! (Yes I said artist) he creates beautiful themes and colors for my nails every time. I've been with them for over a year now, I always have a pleasant experience. I went in the other day and their shellac dryer burned my hand pretty badly, so I felt I should go in and inform them that perhaps their dryer was too hot. When I told them what happened they told me that the burn was from something else and completely dismissed everything I was saying. I'm very disappointed in how they handled this situation. I've been going to Pro Qnails for about a year now. I've been pampered by a number of the girls (and a couple of men). My favorite is Vicky, she spoils me with her pampering. Even when I don't need a pedicure or Shellac manicure I go see her just because I want to be pampered. I've never been disappointed on any of my visits. They get very busy at times (which proves people like the work they do). I either wait my turn or come back another day ,or time, when they aren't so busy. Updated review - my favorite go to nail salon is now under new mgmt. A lot of my favorite employees are now gone :( I had my nails filled by a new employee & it just wasn't the same. This place is awesome. My sister and I both walked in without appointments and we were treated very well. We were taken care of immediately. The tech I had was amazing (her name was Lena). She spent time making sure every nail was perfect. She made great conversation with me and kept me laughing the whole time. My stiletto acrylic manicure came out perfect! Waited 30 min for a pedicure with my feet in the water and ready to go. Nobody started my pedicure or even checked on me. Needless to say when I started to walk out the door, 3 employees ran up to try and help me. Not a good experience. Pro Q is the only place I go!! I recommend all my friends to go there constantly! My mom always gets her nails done by John and he always picks the colors out for her cause her taste isn't the best... I get my acrylic nails done by Jenny, one of the managers! She really does a good job! One thing I love about Pro Q is they don't do the nails ridiculously thick and they know how to shape and polish them well! They also interact with their costumers and don't just sit there quietly and do your nails. Always giving great service and doing amazing nails! Had an appointment with Jenny. I had to wait a while before she got started on me because she was finishing up another woman's nails. (I didn't mind, it gave me more time to pick my color -- they had a very big selection of dip colors which I loved) Jenny did a great job on my nails & told me multiple times if anything happened to them to come back & she would fix them. She even gave me a discount for the time I had to wait before she could get started with my appointment. Paid $30 for dip which is cheaper than most salons around SA. This is not the place to feel pampered. Went in on the fly to try this place out, There were only two other clients in the entire salon. I was sat right next to another client which I have never seen done when the salon is quiet, heck! somewhat busy even. I received service (if you call it that) of minimum effort on the pedicure (at least they did not pound my legs too hard), half way through I was handed the obligatory pedi menu, since it was not going great I just stayed with the basic. Even less detail was done on the manicure, No apologies for the pulling and tugging at my cuticles with nippers, which is NOT the way to do things properly when did cuticle remover become extinct on a manicure? I was left in pedi chair for manicure my feet sitting on a wet cold towel, at least it was the same temperature of the water only soak for my hands. My nails were filed dry, over my clothes what an utter mess, again no apology. Having to reach over one arm in a fairly non natural way while my feet are still sitting on a cold wet towel is not enjoyable. I am shocked that they did not care enough to ask if I would be comfortable. Tech applied two thick coats of polish on one hand at a time so they are bubbling up now and I will have to go back and have them fix it. My feet and hands feel very tight and dry not at all like they just had their 'facials' yes folks that is what it should be, a facial for your hands and/or feet. I am only going back to have the bubbling mess hopefully fixed. That will be the last time ***update: no concern was shown when I returned today, though I did get a redo on the polish there were many flaws in the job, barely spoken to except for asking me about color. I asked directly if the polish should still be tacky after sitting under the light for over 10 mins she just nodded?, also had her touch up one of the nails where there was more color on my skin than topcoat on the nail. While that dried I took a very close look at the rest to see how the polish settled, well when I got up to show her she seemed upset that I was asking to be 'detailed' I politely explained I was going out of town and did not want to have any issues. She was silent when I voiced my concerns. I saw that there was no end in sight at this level, and left before I would have had to raise my voice. read more

The woman who used to do my nails ( she is very good and I had been doing my nails for 12 years ) had changed salons and I wasn't sure where she had gone. I had noticed pro q nails which I drove by every day because it's only 5 minutes from my home. I read the reviews which mentioned Jenny in almost every review. So I called and made an appointment with her a few months ago. She is awesome and does my nails exactly the way I like them. She is very personable and friendly. Every time I go there its like going to visit a good friend. Also the pedicures are wonderful. For some reason I cannot remember the name of the woman who does mine but I will find out tomorrow and do another review because she is also awesome. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is great. Everyone who works there are so nice and make me feel so comfortable. Loan is also awesome. So even if you don't live close, make the drive. I have to say though the female pedicurist are hands down much better than the male ones. This salon is awesome I have been all around San Antonio, Helotes and the malls and this place to me is the best!! The salon manager does my nails and she is sooooo sweet.. They don't try to up sell you, their prices are reasonable and if you break a nail or mess it up they will fix no questions asked. They are busy but they have plenty of staff to back it up.. Most horrible experience I've EVER had at a nail salon! They messed up my nails beyond belief. The place I usually go to, takes their time and I ALWAYS come out with beautiful nails (VIP NAILS). $45 for acrylic and shellac which is what I usually pay for that at my place. I have NEVER had anyone do my nails so half assed before and half assed is giving them ALOT of credit. I told the girl I wanted my nails short and by the time the idiot was done, she had filed away the original short nail to where they were unfixable or unshapable. I told her squared and my nails look nasty rounded. Then she starts painting them and it gets even worse. I have never had anyone who could mess up polish. It was all over my hands like my 3 year old niece painted them and she can probably do an even better job. They tried to get another girl to fix them but they came out even worse. The shellac is dull looking and gross. I paid because I didn't want the argument but I will never go back here or recommend anyone to go here. I only went here because I was trying to have a girls day with my aunt and this is where she goes. I can't even look at my hands because they are so horrid! This place is full of rude and greedy people. I went in to get a pedi, nails, and a wax. I was talked into getting eyelash extensions because I was going to a wedding. I had them done. I took really good care of my extensions after 5 or 6 days( I was told they would last 2 wks) the glue clumped together and pulled half of my real eyelashes out. It was very painful and uncomfortable. The next day I went in to see if they could remove the eyelashes and refund my $. They told my that I didn't take care of them and that's why they fell off, and they were not going to refund my $ because I had them on long enough. I called the owner of the place and left a message. I never received a call back. Nobody apologized to me. I would not recommend this place to anybody. read more
