I walked in to get my eyebrows waxed, and didn't wait long for my service to be provided. The lady who did my eyebrows was very precise, and gentle. Usually when I get my eyebrows done I would have tears, but I didn't when she did it! I was so shocked, and my eyebrows looked very pretty, and even. I'm very happy for the service and the cost was very reasonable, and I loved it. The ladies are so nice, they called me "sweetie" and I thought that was so very sweet of them. Great service and friendly folks! They are price very well and this is the only place go to get my nails done! They give complimentary wine, soda, or water. I usually go here to get a pedi with shellac and mani! :) relaxing environment with multiple TVs to watch shows while getting pamper. Their massage chair is clean, modern, and is awesome when a gal needs a good massage while getting a pedi. Tip: call and make reservations prior to coming. On weekends they are really busy and if you do a walk in you have a chance of not getting in. read more

I absolutely cannot recommend Ann's Nails. I haven't had a pedicure anywhere since my last one there some months back. A man was assigned my pedicure and he was so rough, he scraped the skin off my little toe causing me to bleed the day before a big event when I needed to wear heels. I was communicating to him that he was being too rough, but it wasn't until afterwards that the presumed manager explained to me that my pedicurist didn't speak English-not something I usually have a problem with, but in this instance it became a huge problem that left me a bloody mess. No apology, no discount, no nothing. I was walking out in shock when they conveniently reminded me that I needed to pay for the nail trim and buffing I had received prior to the pedi-disaster. I needed a manicure for a job interview...not that it mattered, since I don't think I put my hands above the table once...so I stopped here on the way to Costco with my new-to-town eyes wide open. There was a bit of a wait: no biggie, I'm crashing as a walk-in. My nail dude, Danny was UTTERLY METICULOUS about getting my gel manicure perfect. You know those long thumbnails that nail guys always have? He used his so much that it looked like he had a lilac-gray french tip. He offered me soda and water, and then did my pedicure. The amount of pressure he used on the foot-file-thing was perfect: my calluses were shaved off just enough to make them smooth, but not enough to hurt. They are a bit pricier: $25 for a regular spa pedicure, and $35 for a gel manicure. Those are Hawaii prices in San Antonio, but the location and Danny's skill might be worth it in the future. read more

I happened upon this nail salon today, a bit uncertain from the outside but they were not very busy so I decided to get solar nail fills from Jolie, I'm so glad I gave this pace a chance. My nails look fantastic and painted red, polished to perfection. Not only are they nice here, they offer you water or soda and make you feel like your business is appreciated. You know what I mean, the places that just run you in and out like cattle! This place is not like that. Its warm and friendly. It's not fancy, but the service is great. This place is the worst place I've been to in San Antonio. I asked for pedi/mani and they did a terrible job. On top of that and more importantly, I asked for face wax and they literally peeled my skin off. My skin was burnt and I had to avoid the sun and water for a week with topical hydrocortisone twice daily. The only good thing about this place is the owner's hospitality but I guess this doesn't really matter if they will burn your face. read more

The people here are nice but the quality of their work is poor. I have had five different shellac manicures here and two of them peeled off within days. The last time when I went back (yesterday) they wanted to just fix a nail or two and not re-do the whole manicure! And they made me wait and wait until finally I went somewhere else to have it done properly. Sad to say I won't be back. read more

By far my favorite salon! Julie does the best solar. They don't lift or break, and they're the same every time. I get shellac frequently, also. It's always perfect. Plus, the wine doesn't hurt either. Definitely recommend booking with Julie - She's AMAZING! And the clientele is fun. read more

Visited this salon this today because they got such good reviews, and I am beyond disappointed with their job on my nails. I got rounded solar nails with shellac and the first time the shape was horrible. I had them "fix" it but they came out equally as bad the second time due to the new shellac they put on. Every nail is uneven and misshapen, you can see my actual nail on every finger, not to mention the lady went too deep when filing my nails and cut me. I paid $55 dollars for this visit and all I can say was that this place was a waste of my time and money. Getting my nails removed tomorrow and done elsewhere. read more

I've had two shellac manis and one shellac pedi. They were done well, and lasted over the advertised 2 weeks, on average two dollars cheaper than every other place I called ($30 shellac mani). I've been offered a beverage every time and the people are friendly. I have only gone on Mondays and as a walk-in. I'm not super picky when it comes to decor so the environment seemed fine with me, but it isn't exactly luxurious...if that's what you're looking for. They always go the extra mile to make sure the client is satisfied with the service. They always take their time doing my nails, hence always doing a good job. After my experience yesterday at Ann's Nail & Beauty Salon, I think I can safely say I don't think I've ever had a worse pedicure/manicure in my life. I received absolutely horrible customer service and the staff was incompetent to boot. The two technicians who worked on me rushed through the process and did a horrendous job. Oh, and they were rude. The pedicurist couldn't take the time to completely remove the previous polish I had on my toes; it was quite visible through the new polish I had selected. When I asked the manicurist if she could fix it, she just scraped at my nail, which was very painful, to remove the polish and just painted over her "handiwork." The end result looks AWFUL. Additionally, both technicians did a terrible job cutting my cuticles, but the manicurist was by far the worst. She ripped a piece of skin from my left thumb, and I was bleeding throughout the rest of the manicure. She did not take any steps to stop the bleeding, nor did she attempt to apologize. I just continued bleeding for the rest of the manicure, and she continued to use several tools on me, including oil and polish brushes. This is obviously incredibly unsanitary, which makes me hope the infection I'm beginning to see on my thumb does not get worse. I also have hangnails surrounding every single nail on my hands. The polished finger- and toenails ain't too pretty, either. It is just a streaky, bubbly mess all over my hands and feet. The cherry on top was me spending five minutes in my hot car, carefully separating my nails from the skin, upon leaving the "salon." Look, I understand I may have made a couple of annoying requests, what with me wanting to make sure I couldn't see the previous nail polish through the freshly applied polish; however, as the customer, if I am not happy with the results, efforts should be made to correct the mistakes. I am paying for these services, after all. I could maybe be a bit more forgiving if the salon was busy, but it was not. At one point, another technician came over and carried on a conversation with my manicurist. She obviously didn't need the distraction. There is no excuse for this type of shoddy work, and I am sorry I spent my money here. If you are considering this place and reading this, do NOT make the same mistake. Please. read more

I went in a few days before July 4th for a manicure. Maybe they were busier than normal but I still will not give them another chance. Service: polish was applied so fast and coats so close together that I sat with fan for an HOUR and the polish was still not dry when I left (this is with the fast dry spray). Attitude/atmosphere: many unhappy ladies were complaining while I waited for my turn. I thought it was because they were rude. Turns out, their attitude was probably a response to the workers in the salon. When I expressed my concern that my polish was not dry after so long, a male worker told my I was lying about amount of time I was there ( I knew EXACTLY b/c I asked my lady how long I needed to stay. . .she said 10 min so I was keeping track). Then he told me that next time I need to get shellac. Then he very roughly grabbed my hands from fans to spray the dry fast spray about 1/4 inch from my fingers. When I said that it didn't feel good (it actually hurt), he said it was the price to pay for getting them to dry faster. I can't believe all the positive reviews b/c my experience was awful. read more
