He told us the approximate time the car would be finished and we picked it up and went on our way. The cost is reasonable for the test and the certificate. I got the Dreaded Car Registration Notice that states Test Only Smog Test Required. Damn!!! So I give Dan at Pro Smog a call luckily he has an appointment open at 2 Pm. At 1:30 I rolled my Weekend Whip to Pro Smog and at 2 PM. Dan plugs my vehicle into the Machine and onto the Dyno. 3 PM My Vehicle is done with testing. If your "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" is ON do not go to this guy, he will not advice you to get the problem fixed prior to get tested, instead he'll go ahead and test it, tell you it failed because the "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" is ON, charge you $66.00 tell you to get the problem taken care of and come back and he'll re-test it for an additional $30.00. When I asked him why he didn't advice me to get the problem fixed prior to test it, he claimed the State Regulations puts a lot of pressure on him, to test every car that comes into his establishment...Huh? I guess I'm bothered about the extra expense, but most of all I feel my naiveness cost me, and I hope my review will save some of you in the future...Don't forget honesty is scarce now days...! read more

I have an old ass car. Every two years I say a prayer and hope it passes smog. Pro smog is always super fast and I've never had to make an appointment although i probably should. Terrible! $80 for a smog check on my truck, waited for 55 minutes after my truck was finally in the smog bay. Had one plastic clamp under the truck that had cracked but was still on the truck and the hose was firmly on the fuel air re-circulation container. The jerk reported it to the state and now I have to use a STAR station which will probably cost more. These guys are the worst,and for a long time San Leandro resident I hope they go out of business, I hate driving by that place on my way to work. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!! RIP-OFF!!! read more
