They charged me $400 dollars to replace the belt and pulley. The next day, my A/C completely stopped blowing cold air, and there were rubber shavings all around the pulley and belt. I explained this to the shop, and brought it in for them to look at. A couple hours later they texted me with a quote for $1200 dollars to replace the thermostat housing unit with $800 in labor alone. When I asked about the belt, and how that could have affected the A/C, they denied ever seeing the shavings and that they must have been from the last belt. Could just be terrible luck on my part, but it certainly didn't sit well with me. Would not recommend to anyone. I saw the shavings with my own two eyes ONLY after they replaced the belt. Pep Boys Review --…read more got a call 3 days ago...my rental was apparently begging for an oil change...mind you i'm in the army & my schedule is tighter than the jeans i wore in high school. so the next day i call back to set it up & guess what...no one answers. cool. love that. so i call the rental company & they're like "yeah girl take it to pep boys they'll help you" (lie number one) so i call pep boys & schedule for 11am. the next day i pull up 15 minutes early like the responsible adult i pretend to be. i hand over my keys & the guy hits me with "it'll be an hour & a half to two hours" ...for an oil change...i've never had an oil change take longer than a tiktok recipe but okay fine. i tell him i'm gonna run to the store for groceries & he's like yeah go ahead so i take my time. i stroll. i browse. i compare cereal brands like i'm solving a mystery. i take a whole hour & 45 mins thinking surely my truck is done by now i pull back up to pep boys & my truck is still sitting in the exact same parking spot...untouched...collecting dust...probably wondering if i abandoned it. i walk inside & the guy looks at me all casual like "okay i just got it approved so i wasn't able to start working on it yet" ...approved for WHAT...why did it take 2 hours...did the president need to sign off on this oil change i just stare at him then stare at my friend then stare back at him like i'm in the office waiting for the camera zoom. then he goes "it'll be about another hour" ...another hour...so now we're at a 3 hour oil change. 3. hours. and then while i'm standing there contemplating my life choices i hear another customer complaining about how slow they are. so at that point i knew it wasn't personal...it was just pep boys being pep boys 1 star. if i could give it 0 i would.
