Pep Boys Review --…read more got a call 3 days ago...my rental was apparently begging for an oil change...mind you i'm in the army & my schedule is tighter than the jeans i wore in high school. so the next day i call back to set it up & guess what...no one answers. cool. love that. so i call the rental company & they're like "yeah girl take it to pep boys they'll help you" (lie number one) so i call pep boys & schedule for 11am. the next day i pull up 15 minutes early like the responsible adult i pretend to be. i hand over my keys & the guy hits me with "it'll be an hour & a half to two hours" ...for an oil change...i've never had an oil change take longer than a tiktok recipe but okay fine. i tell him i'm gonna run to the store for groceries & he's like yeah go ahead so i take my time. i stroll. i browse. i compare cereal brands like i'm solving a mystery. i take a whole hour & 45 mins thinking surely my truck is done by now i pull back up to pep boys & my truck is still sitting in the exact same parking spot...untouched...collecting dust...probably wondering if i abandoned it. i walk inside & the guy looks at me all casual like "okay i just got it approved so i wasn't able to start working on it yet" ...approved for WHAT...why did it take 2 hours...did the president need to sign off on this oil change i just stare at him then stare at my friend then stare back at him like i'm in the office waiting for the camera zoom. then he goes "it'll be about another hour" ...another hour...so now we're at a 3 hour oil change. 3. hours. and then while i'm standing there contemplating my life choices i hear another customer complaining about how slow they are. so at that point i knew it wasn't personal...it was just pep boys being pep boys 1 star. if i could give it 0 i would.

When I pulled in around 11:20, I was immediately directed to wait behind one of the bays (all were currently occupied) so it was nice to know which one to go to. Before I knew it my oil change was complete and I was driving off 25 minutes after I arrived (my oil change took probably 15 minutes). The line to the car wash made it difficult to get into. You have to wait in line for the car wash to get around the building. Was we finally made the turn we had five guys giving us the oil change and ten minutes later it was done. Quick service and we got a free car wash. The car wash meant we had to circle around again to get back in line. Oh well, it was free. The wash was good for what we needed and a couple of guys at the end wiped the water off the windows. We had no complaint about the service even though the lines were a little awkward.
