I called Pro-Tech last week (plenty of good reviews to make the call). Got a next-day appointment thank goodness. I always feel like an idiot trying to explain abnormal issues/strange noises with my car and based on past experiences along with my lack of car knowledge the inevitable responsibility of car repairs has become unnerving as I wait-out a repair order my brain doesn't compute and a bill that I don't want to face. The experience at Pro-Tech on June 12th was a pleasant and refreshing one from the jump (and well worth the trip across town)! Going in, I was greeted promptly with a friendly face and easy-going but professional atmosphere. They let me know they needed 1 1/2 hrs to diagnose and do whatever it is they do. Fine. I walked down the street to do some shopping and an hour later I received a call informing me that car was fixed and ready to go. The best part of taking my car here.....the bill was ONLY an astonishing $120 !! It didn't compute in my mind at first but as I pretended to listen they gave me the explanation run-down and it sounded qualified and mechanical- like. I'm just relieved and happy that my car is fixed as it's now been over a week and she's purring like a kitten. I have to share with everyone the fair and forthright business practice and pleasant experience I had bringing my car here for repair. Unfortunately, I have gotten the "run around" many times with auto mechanics. That was not the the story this time here at Pro Tech. Brian has employed a very experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. I came into the shop with only a few hours notice. I spoke with Tommy on the phone about my transmission, (that I was sure was going to give out) and a few other things; such as oil leaks, and weird sounds. Within 30 minutes or less of them diagnosing my car I had a detailed invoice, and more than reasonable prices on parts and labor. Brian and Tommy helped me with the decision to just service the transmission first, and to wait so we could see what will come of the transmission before dumping more money into my vehicle. Obviously a shop could have manipulated this in many ways to get into my pocketbook. However I'm convinced that Pro Tech is more interested in long term business relationships. Helping the customer in making a confident, and cost effective decision is the best way to business. This is very uncommon for me to find in the auto mechanic industry. My family and I have finally found a shop we trust. I won't take my car anywhere else! read more

A community focused auto repair shop. I had to quickly purchase a truck from a local car dealer and could not personally check out the truck. I was so fortunate to find Finian and all his staff at Pro Tech. Finian checked out the truck and gave me a quote for some necessary repairs. We discussed what repairs were necessary and which could wait. All the repairs were completed at a lower cost than the estimate. Finian also assisted me with some logistical issues in a very satisfactory manner. Finian treated me as a friend as you would expect from a community based auto repair shop. I would recommend Finian to anyone who needs an honest auto/truck repair friend. And in the auto repair world we all need friends we can trust. Finian treats you as a friend. read more

This place is awesome!!! My transmission went out (ugh) but Freddy was SO friendly every step of the way. He called me frequently with updates and always answered all of my questions and gave accurate wait times and quotes. It's not usually a fun experience getting your transmission replaced on an old Mercedes, but I'm so glad I was recommended to go to Pro-Tech! I was recommended to go from Jeremy at AutoZone when he originally read the codes and told me it was a transmission issue. Now I'm all set to sell my car (Freddy even had advice for that process which helped a lot) and the transmission has a full warranty so whoever I sell it to can take it back if an issue comes up again. I contacted several shops to see if they could work on my Audi and since I am very short on funds right now, I needed someone who would accept my Synchrony Car Credit card. Many places take it, but not all those places can work on Audi's. Pro Tech responded to my request immediately and let me know that they didn't accept Synchrony but that they would contact them to see what they could do. They were a Synchrony client the NEXT day! Talk about going above and beyond! I was so stressed out about this and they saved me! We had the very unfortunate experience of someone choosing our car to drill into the gas tank. Our trip to Portland was only a few days long and the dealerships were quoting us $2k and a month to two months out on fixes. Joseph (Joe) from Pro-tech got us in same day and ordered the part we needed overnight. The fix was quick, the communication was spectacular. We knew exactly what was happening and when and they even let us see the drilled-into gas tank at the end. Leaving Portland on time with a perfect fix. The empathy and spectacular workmanship by the whole crew at Pro-Tech should not go unnoticed. read more

My go to shop. I have always been terrified of the day I would have to find a mehcanic that wasn't my parents life long mechanic but pro tech made that easy. As a 21 year old girl who doesnt know a thing about cars, I would safely recommend pro tech to you. They will be honest with you and also understanding of finances, helping you get better deals and a safer whip since whenever these guys opened. Sadly, we will not be using Protech again. The new "mecahnics" can not diagnose a problem correctly, we were told the engine tick was an exhaust leak. After being quoted $392, we paid $587. We were told the added expense was due to replaced bolts and added time. They only replaced 3 of the 4 gaskets and left us with a missing nut. They also only replaced 1 bolt. And the engine still ticks. We took it back and were told to run seafoam through the engine. After 5 cars and 3 years of loyalty, we are finding a new mechanic. read more

I needed a skid plate removed that had broken bolts that were spinning in place. It's not a simple or routine task and the dealership wouldn't touch it. I messaged 5 mechanics for an oil change plus skid plate removal and 2 got back to me, Pro tech maintained quick communication and made sure I got an appointment in. When I was ready they got it done same day as I messaged them. Price was better than I expected! It didn't cost much more than the oil change on its own. Thanks! I took a Mustang to these guys for a pre-purchase inspection and they pointed out the brakes were at the illegal point as far as wearing on all four wheels. The dealership replaced the pads and rotors on all four wheels for free - safety issue - saving me a couple hundred bucks. This inspection was close to the best money I ever spent. Small shop, friendly, very professional, highly recommended. I would never buy a used car without dropping the $80 to get it inspected, first. I will return. read more

I've got a 99 civic with a B18C, lowered with full adjustable camber and NO ONE was able to get it remotely close to aligned. And NO ONE would charge the AC system. Every shop on McLoughlin was scared of a Honda and said it was "too custom". These guys got my AC cold as ice, and the alignment is better than it's ever been. I really appreciate a shop that can actually do things outside of the OEM spec box. Hats off to a team of great mechanics. Especially Dan. Dan is the man. read more

This place is great! We were having a problem with the coolant draining out of the car so we called Carmax to get the car fixed and the got us an appointment with them. They let us bring in the car an hour earlier than our appointment. They called us with updates thru out the day, quoted pricing as they got the information and then had it done before they closed for the day. We will definitely be back. read more

Super nice folks. The price I got for full front brake replacement and brake fluid change was over $100 cheaper than a quote I got at another local shop. They had a delay in getting it done because the warehouse sent the wrong part, but they still had me on my way in under 4 hours.
