I was fortunate enough to meet Richard Landen while I was there. Richard was very knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. I told Richard I needed to discuss a few of the model options with my wife, and I'd call him with a decision within a week. I phoned Richard a few days later, and told him which model Subzero we wanted to order. He couldn't have made the whole purchase any easier. Richard emailed me the receipt, and told me the new Subzero would be available for pickup in a few days. Richard was kind enough to inform me that if I selected a certified installer Subzero adds an extra year to the warranty! So I figured I had better do just that, and I went with Top Tier Appliance Installations which is owned by John Yeager. If there was ever an appropriately named business, it's John's business! John and his crew really were top tier! From keeping me apprised of their arrival time to protecting my floors removing the old SubZero, to being diligent as they carefully lugged these 800 pound machines (both the old Subzero and the new Subzero) up and down my stairs without damaging my home! The installation job they did on my new Subzero was spectacular! I would highly recommend John and his team without reservation! I'm a very particular guy, and John and his team are definitely welcome back in my home anytime. Going forward, anytime I need new appliances, I will be calling Richard at Tee Vax to buy them, and John at Top Tier Appliance Installations to install them!

MKC is the best residential contractor I have worked with in my 30 years of home ownership. MKC employs a process with heavy emphasis on planning the work up front followed by quality execution by the craftsmen. Scott (owner of MKC) honestly strives to land each project with the highest quality work done at a reasonable price. My project was mainly to remodel a kitchen and master bathroom. Additionally, we removed two walls (one load bearing), replaced 1/2 the house windows, addressed two different legacy structural issues, replaced fireplace, all interior doors, all baseboard and trim, all flooring and about a dozen other upgrades (add ceiling fans, add additional door, replace garage door header, toilet in 2nd bath, etc.). Basically, I received a new house. The work was completed in a little over 4 months as planned adding time for the new scope and structural issues. The cost was as expected. MKC costs were nearly exact to expected. Material costs were higher than planned due to our selection of materials vs assumed. The quality of the work was outstanding whether it was by MKC employees or subcontractors. I highly recommend the MKC team for a kitchen or major home remodel.

We had Josh of Josski Plumbing come over to fix our toilet leak. The water level in the toilet…read moretank would drop to the point (about 3/4") that it caused the refill valve to come on and fill the tank back up. This would happen about every 10 minutes. I replaced the flapper (Kohler Class Five 3 1/4"). The same issue continued. After calling several other plumbers in the beginning of December (3 calls several days apart to one, 2 calls several days apart to the other; and not getting any return calls from either of those companies), I reached out to Josski the last week of December. Josh returned my call that very day!! This is a second home for me (Bodega Bay) and I was going to be there over New Year's weekend. He scheduled an appointment with me on New Year's Day!! I was amazed that he would come out on a holiday. I asked if this would cause an extra charge. He said 'no', same rate. Wow! Josh was punctual and very courteous. He is knowledgeable, skilled and has a very high level of integrity. His rates are incredibly reasonable, and he is honest and sincere. Best experience of hiring a plumber we've ever had. Green Bay Remodeling was the highest bid by 20-50%. We selected Green Bay because they pitched themselves as a turnkey solution and I would simply sit back and just make payments. In reality I needed to be involved constantly to keep this project on track. A few examples: - Sourcing: In the sales meeting, we were told that materials would be sourced by them from their "catalog" and shipped from "their warehouse". I liked the simplicity of that, but in reality, they order things from online vendors like Wayfair and Home Depot and shipped directly to my home. This turned my garage space into their warehouse for nearly 2 months. Also, it is just bad business to ship heavy, breakable things - for example, we had 2 toilets delivered to our home in giant packages - both of which were broken on arrival. (there's a hardware store less than a mile from my home that has toilets in stock) - Communication: We were promised daily updates, this did happen once the construction work started because they often wanted a payment, but we went for long times not hearing during planning process. - Timeline was set by PM as 4 weeks from sign date for permits and planning (closer to 8 weeks due to absences and avoidable omissions on permit application) and 4 weeks for construction (that was met with multiple issues and creative workarounds deployed). - Presence: We understood the PM would be present on the site and would be the main point of contact, but he was missing at key times - including during an inspection with the city permitting department - Attention to detail: Materials were sourced late or incorrectly (a 60 inch vanity ordered rather than 72inch) and broken materials were not identified immediately. We made the construction timeline but only with some creative solutions and lots of legwork. Overall, the guys at GBR are nice, charming people and the finished product looks good. But I give that credit to the amazing sub-contractor who completed the entire project. He covered for their issues and went out of his way to solve problems so that the finished product looked amazing and was finished on time. I would give this person a 5 star review, but I would not engage GBR in the future as this does not reflect value for money.
