Instead, a quiet comforting buzz of meal conversation invites you in. The Owner at the register proudly greets his regulars by name. The counter top displays a variety of signature favorites. An attentive array of staff keeps the line moving. I opted for the spinach and mushroom. The crust has a firm cracker like base, with a moist not too thick crust. When we got our pizzas, all of the toppings fell off and when the waiter kept telling us to wait, we would wait for 15ish minutes and it would still fall off so we basically ate pizza with just tomato sauce. Got a cheese steak sub, steak was very tender and had a good taste, and mozzarella sticks, the cheese was deliciously melted, and a large meatlovers pizza for later. I reheated the pizza up for dinner and it was so filling, I couldn't finish a whole slice. It was very good with lots of cheese and meats. I will definitely stop in here again when I'm in the area. I had a slice of vegetable and slice of pepperoni both were really good but the veggie rocked , it was a meal in itself . They do not deliver but close enough on Washington Ave .To pick up. They make a square Sicilian pizza but need 5 hours notice to make.. update: I got large cheesesteak with fried onions, mushrooms, and cheese $8.25 and it was really good. I have never tasted a cheesesteak like this before they should rename it... "juicy French dip sandwich" the au jus was so good, with each bite, the beef juice poured out. This broth gave the roll the most savory flavor. Perhaps this is Chestertown's take on a cheesesteak but as Mr. Food says from the test kitchen ,"OOOHH it's so good."! This place seemed very popular with many people and families coming in and out while we were there on a Sunday. This was our first visit and the smell of garlic greeted us when we entered the dark space. We ordered a Margherita pizza, chicken cheesesteak and veal parmigiana and garlic knots. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. Unfortunately, the knots were cold. The pizza was undercooked so we scraped the toppings off to eat and ate the crust. The veal had been fried to death and was tough and chewy and the spaghetti was over cooked and marinara was sparse and bland. The cheesesteak had a generous amount of meat but was also under flavored. Unfortunately I won't be coming back for a second visit. read more

We were in the area shopping and were looking for a quick place for lunch. My husband noticed this pizza shop so we decided to give it a try. We aren't the biggest pizza eaters but we do know good pizza. While thinner crust style pizza is really my favorite (only because I don't need too many carbs!),, this thicker crust (Sicilian?) style pizza was really good. He had a piece with grilled chicken and cheese on it - there was no sign to say what it was but I snuck a bite and it was really good. He definitely.enjoyed it too. I had a piece with fresh tomatoes, ricotta and mozzarella - very good! He also had a bowl of Italian wedding soup and I had a caesar salad both of which were good. He did miss the noodles typically found in Italian wedding soup though. The service was fast and friendly and when I posted on Facebook that we were there, several friends commented how they loved the place and had been going there for years. Every time we go out to Chestertown, a visit to "Proc's" is a must-do! This place has been a staple in the area for 20 years or so at least. I'm happy to say the quality hasn't deteriorated at all in those years. The last visit was a large group gathering, but the food was still excellent. The garlic knots are spot on, especially with their marinara dipping sauce. The pizzas are generously topped and very heavy for their size. You can't get past two slices without reaching critical mass! Their prices are very competitive, not only for Chestertown but overall. We have also never had a bad service experience here. They always go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and valued. I hope Proc's is there for many more years to come! I can't imagine Chestertown without them. read more

Cool place. Owner is very nice. Drink refills are awkward. They should really put the soda machine where the public can get their own drinks. They do charge for refills but they have it to us my fam of 5 on the house. I appreciate the gesture but I'd pay more I order to get the drink faster. Anyone with children would understand what I mean. The steak sub was really good along with the pizza and mozzarella sticks. The portion for the mozzarella sticks were lame though. Again with a large fam I'd be willing to pay more to get a better portion. The pasta...not so good. Alfredo was sort of lame. I guess with the ascent from the chef we were expecting some authentic pasta but not so much. Stick to the carry out foods. Having a runner to deliver the food to each table under a numbering system would really suit this place well. Overall I would def return, but some small tweaks could make this place more efficient. Tired, hungry, and looking for a quick bite to eat and didn't want to wait, so I decided on pizza. I waked in for the first time and Procolino's is wide open and spacious. They had about ten different specialty pizzas available by the slice all ready to heat and eat. I saw the Hawaiian slices and had to have one, and ordered a cheese with mushrooms as well. MMmmm, I noticed they have bottled beer and ordered a Yuengling to go with my pizza (Total cost @ $12). I love mushroom pizza...well, I love mushroom almost anything...lol!! Procolinos added a ton of fresh (that's fresh as in not cooked) mushrooms and added a bit more yummy stretchy mozzarella cheese. The crust was tender and crispy, the sauce was delish, the cheese...well it was yummy n stretchy, the mushrooms were good, but really I would have liked them better sauteed as they were not still not cooked by slightly dehydrated from the hot oven. I noticed the Hawaiian pizza looked different... it was covered in BACON...YUM!!! OMG, I had to try!!! Glad I did too. There was a literal mound of toppings with crispy Bacon...Yum!!!, pineapple (not very sweet, could have been sweeter), and what's this??? Ham under the Bacon...Yum!!! and pineapple... Oh how I love pig!! This was a fantastic piece of pizza. I only intended to eat part of both slices, but the crust was so good and I ate the mushroom first and was only going to sample the other... but the Hawaiian was so damn'd good I had to eat the whole thing!!! It never ceases to amaze me how different pizza is from region to region. Go from one town to another - and one state to another - and what the locals refer to as pizza won't even resemble what it is you are used to back at home. I know this pizza place is very popular with locals, so I give them praise for that. As someone from New Jersey, it just wasn't for me. I don't actually know what you would call the style of pizza which they serve here. Maybe it's Maryland style pizza? Maybe it's Chestertown style pizza? I don't know. The pizza crust was way too thick - I've never had a pie like it. The crust was a meal in itself. The cheese also just sort of sat on top of the pie - almost like it was a separate entity rather than part of it. Like someone just took a ton of cheese and melted it on top of a plate of the dough after it was already cooked. You could easily pull the cheese off if you wanted and have a cheese meal and a separate crust meal if you wish. Again, the locals praise this place - and it was busy. They also had virtually every type of topping you could possibly imagine. Great selection --- and beyond the pizza they have subs and other assorted offerings. But at the end of the day it comes down to the pizza itself - and I just didn't like it. So for local flavor, they do their job. But as a guy from New Jersey who has been spoiled with good pizza his whole life - I wouldn't be back. read more

I wish I could be as positive as some other reviews. The reality is that Procolino's is a great disappointment. However, for those that fondly remember eating soggy pizza after an after-school game will love the place. True, it is a local favorite and apparently has been for many years. Why? It reeks from garlic and is a dank, order at the counter place. I guess it may actualy be owned by an Italian, but that is where any positive connection to Italian food ends. Buy any pizza and as you carry the box you will be dripping oil all the way home. Garlic, oil and wilted greens are the hallmarks of this joint. I've been to New York and Italy, among other cities, and tried pizza all over the place. This is the best pizza I've ever had. From this unassuming strip-mall restaurant's oven comes crunchy, chewy, garlicky, tomato-ey, cheesy goodness like I've never had anywhere else, all with nothing but smiles from the pizza pros making and serving it. Food is fantastic, and reasonably priced for huge portions, the staff is super nice and treats everyone like family, and located very conveniently in the Acme shopping plaza.
