Five minutes before the two hours was up I finally sent a text message asking what was up and their response was they needed another hour. No apologies for wasting my time and not reaching out, didn't seem to care much about missing the appointment. I totally understand things happen and you get busy, but if you have a scheduled appointment you should let me know through text message or a phone call that you need more time. Why bother scheduling a two hour window then? Why didn't they reach out to me saying that they would be late? It kind of sucks that I was waiting around for two hours with nothing happening and I had to be the one to reach out to them. read more

Jorge Hernandez of Prodigy Works responded to my post on Home Advisor and came by the next day to see what work I needed done. My sprinkler system has been broken and thereafter unused for 7 years. Jorge came by and looked at it, left for a few minutes and returned with some things he picked up at the local hardware store and proceeded to test my system. He gave me a quote and was back the next day to start at 8AM. My entire sprinkler system was repaired or replaced and my front and backyards were landscaped with new sod and bark. The crew hauled away everything they cleared out of the yard and left it immaculate. The job started on a Friday and was completed by the following Thursday. And it rained for 3 of those days! I had a good experience with Prodigy Works several years ago to have a large tree removed, so called them recently to have another one removed. While Carlos was here to give me an estimate on the tree removal, I also discussed with him fencing and rotting expansion joints in my 1986 concrete patio. I was very pleased to discover they do a LOT in addition to trees ... in three days the tree was removed with the stump ground up and I had two new stretches of fencing as well as a new fence enclosure around my A/C unit ... I had Prodigy Works come out and remove a total of 5 trees from my yard and trim 2 other trees. They did an EXCELLENT job, and I am so happy with their work! Carlos came out and gave me an estimate within 2 days of my initial call and we were able to schedule to get the work done within 2 weeks. Their price was very competitive and half of the highest estimate. Watching the Prodigy Works team work is like watching a well-choreographed ballet or dance. How they ensure that a branch falls in the right place without causing damage to fences or other property; how other workers rush in and cut the wood into smaller chunks; and yet another worker quickly hauls the wood out front to the chipper. It is fascinating to watch them work. There were 5 or 6 men here working for 6-7 hours. All were extremely friendly, polite, and professional. They ground the stumps of the trees and cleaned up everything before they left. From the first estimate to the final clean-up, these guys are top-notch. These guys were supposed to come to my house to give me an estimate, and they never called or showed up. They have already lost my business and proved themselves unreliable before we even had a chance to talk. - Updated: They claim that they never got the request for the estimate from HomeAdvisor, and immediately tried to contact me to rectify the situation. However, they texted and called repeatedly - and the only way they could have gotten my number was from my request for proposal through HomeAdvisor. SO - if they were on top of things, they should have been checking their HomeAdvisor account daily. I set up this appointment last week, and all other contractors were prompt and aware of my request. I am increasing my review from 1 to 3 stars because they did try to fix the situation once they realized that I was giving them a bad review. read more

I have always been looking for a dependable landscape person and/or gardener. Prodigy did a job for me, and is not getting a repeat business. Prodigy sold me the idea to change out all 7 sprinkler values, with a guarantee to back up his work. I observed days later that one of the 7 new valves leaked and I called for the guy to come back and fix it. He was pleasant on the phone promising to come again and again and again, but never did. Lesson for me dealing with Prodigy is their guarantees are cheap. Expect a pay and go type of relationship. I have other landscaping tasks that need work. No repeat business for Prodigy, for sure. read more

They did a fantastic job cutting down two trees. One stump they used a stump grinder which is an amazing tool and ground that sucker deep too! The other stump took two days and he worked soo hard digging​ it out. He really knew his stuff. Then they pruned and shaped a big camphor tree in the front yard. It looks so nice now. Then, one of the brothers said he go by my house to get a more accurate appraisal of the work involved. He left a quote on my front porch for one-third the phone quote. I called them to give them my business, but they never called back. I called again and he said he'd get to the job any day. They never called back and never showed up.
