I always have a good experience at ProfessioNail. They have a lot of great nail technicians who always provide the exact manicure I ask for. Sometimes I get a design that my nail tech wasn't prepared to do and they will call over someone else to make sure it turns out right. Ya gurl had a snagglenail after building a dresser. Just my luck, I also had a first date scheduled in 2 hrs. I called ProfessioNail and they were able to squeeze me in for a SNS dip manicure within 20 mins! I sat down with LeAnn. As she foiled me up, I looked at the color wheel. I found a pale white that I really liked, but unfortunately they were out of that color. She was certain she understood what I wanted and suggested mixing a true white with a very pale pink. With her confidence, I accepted her suggestion. SHE WAS SO RIGHT! This powder mix is now my go to. Plus I've also found a new nail girl (I just moved to SD, and we all know how hard it is to find a good one). I wanted to find a place that is quick and easy with not too much going on or upselling. Arrived with no appointment. Asked for a gel manicure and just a regular pedicure. I'm immediately referred to the nail polish counter. I was having such a hard time for some odd reason. There are so many options. I settled with blue sky (I believe that was the name). So they had me sit on the massage chair. Two people started right away to work on me. The lady who worked on my hands cut me within 2 minutes. She was filing my nail. I was bleeding. She said my meat is too close to my finger nail. It was pretty painful. She kept going but I told her it hurts and I was just about to give up and she put something on the cut. I'm not sure what it was just some type of liquid which burned me but I felt a little bit better. She said her tools are too sharp because it's new. Ok. This is the first time I have ever gotten cut from a manicure and I can confidently say I have been getting manicures for at least 10 years and I have never heard of that before. So what's next? Well I got cut again? But this time it's from the lady who was working on my toes. She cut me when she was cutting my cuticles. What's going on here? Too sharp nail cutter as well? Yup that's what she said, too sharp. Luckily it wasn't as deep so I was able to continue. I just want to get my nails done without pain, is that so much to ask? I wanted to get this over with. So I let them continue. I wasn't too happy about my pedicure. My nails were a bit crooked but I couldn't tell as my fingers were getting worked on, it wasn't easy for me to bend down and look at the details. So when I had a chance to actually bend and look at my toes, I was disappointed. However I did like my manicure. It was pretty. So even through the pain I gave them a 3 stars. It was more 2.5 stars. Round up because the two ladies were nice overall besides the mistakes they made. So I have read other reviews and I'm not the only one that has been cut. I'm not returning. There are so many other places I can go to without getting hurt. read more

I had the worst pedicure ever the other day. The person was rude and did nothing to my cuticles and dry skin. My polish was ruined the first day and she had added some solvent to it prior to applying it. The language barrier is awful, and it is no bargain. There's a reason this place is so busy. I always make an appointment for my gel mani and regular pedi and I've never had to wait longer than five minutes. I've never been disappointed with my mani or pedi. The gels usually last three weeks or more. The prices have recently gone up a bit due to Covid but it's nice to see they're following all the procedures so I don't have to worry when I go. Will definitely keep going. read more

My friend recommended this nail salon. I set my appt. the day before (19 June) for 20 June at 5. I show up at 4:50 and was asked to fill out a disclaimer form for Covid-19 and let them know I have arrived for my appt. She informs me that they are running a little behind and that I will most likely be seen 5 minutes after my schedule time. Well, at 5:25 I was still sitting outside the shop in the cold and walk-ins that may have arrived a few minutes before I did were serviced before me. 5:25 I ask to cancel, she informs me that I should be seen soon. I ask how much longer, the nail tech tells me 15 minutes and I'm asked if I would like to reschedule. Now I am angry because I wasted my gas and 30-40 minutes of my time expecting a service AFTER I had a SET APPT. I am sure they are not a bad place, but first impression is everything and I am highly disappointed. Still sitting here with bare nails. read more

Love Professionail, I've been coming here since their grand opening. Could go other places, but it's kept in really good condition. The owners and manager are always cleaning and making sure things are in order. Place is clean and the location has parking in the Vons- one of the best parts. This is my second time here and I couldn't be happier! I checked them out a few weeks ago because I had previously walked by and noticed their great covid safety measures (masks, distancing, sanitizer, and plexiglass barriers). I was so pleased with my gel mani and matching pedi that I came back for some fall dip powder. My nail tech checked with me every step of the way to make sure I was pleased with the length and shape as well as the color pattern. Love coming here because parking is easy to find and the people working here are super nice. There is parking on the street and you can park in the Vons parking structure. I usually go on off times so it's never a long wait (typically for my pedicures). Most time I've waited is 15 minutes. I always see Mike for fills/new sets. He is awesome at acrylic nails and is so much fun to chat with. If your a Pinterest lover, you can pretty much show him what you want and he can duplicate it. I call ahead to schedule an appointment with him and I can get in pretty fast. I'm very attentive to detail and I'm very happy with his work. Thanks Mike for an awesome experience! I have been coming to this salon for about 15 months. Ivy is top notch and I would recommend anyone wanting any artwork to ask for her. Each time I visit I get a new design with which I am delighted. Ivy takes pride in her work, wants the customer to be leave very pleased, and will go out of her way to make sure you are satisfied. She listens as you explain what you want and will tell you if the colors will not work or suggest a different shade so that your design stands out. If you are unsure of the design you would like, Ivy is also willing to try to copy a design you have found on Pinterest, Instagram, etc. At the time of this review she is off on Sundays and Mondays. Total of 20 minutes for a pedicure which normally the other girls spent 30+ min. I want to be happy about my nails but I'm really disappointed. I got a full set acrylics. Had an appointment at 1pm, arrived at 12:45pm and didn't get worked on until 1:20. The manicurist didn't even touch my cuticles. She just quickly clipped my nails and glued the tips on, getting glue underneath my actual nail and along the sides so it feels like my finger skin is glued to my nail. She also kept filing the sides of my nails so much it made me say "ouch" out loud, but she kept doing it. The acrylic is bumpy and not flush with the cuticle. I literally just walked out of the shop and it looks like I got my nails done over a week ago!! WTH. My hands and cuticle are covered in nail dust and super dry! The rhinestones look super cheap too. I totally wasted $56 dollars + a $10 tip for nothing. They have an amazing assortment of colors and choices, but that was the only good part about my experience. Maybe I just got stuck with a bad nail tech, but this was a total waste of money. read more

I've been getting my nails done here for almost a year now. The staff is wonderful and I have no complaints. Everything is clean and the staff takes their time and makes sure you're going home with what you want. The massage chairs are an extra plus. I recently tried the dip powder instead of my usual gel for my manicure. The dip powder is supposed to be healthier on the natural nail and last longer.
