This review is long overdue! I've been going to Twinkle Nails for over a year now, and I honestly can't imagine going anywhere else. I always book with Thi, and she is absolutely fantastic. No matter what design, color combination, or random inspiration photo I bring her, she executes it flawlessly every single time. I've attached a few photos of some of the sets she's done for me over the past year because her work really speaks for itself. One thing that always impresses me is how healthy my natural nails have stayed. These are my real nails, and I only get gel manicures, so I can't personally speak to acrylics or some of the other nail services they offer. What I can say is that my nails consistently look amazing, last well, and receive compliments all the time. I've also had pedicures here and they've always done a great job. I've been to Twinkle Nails twice now and have had a pretty decent experience. I enjoy the ease of booking online which a lot of nail salons don't have. The staff is pretty friendly and they work quickly. My first time, the nail artist didn't ask what shape/length I wanted, she just cut them short and square. I kept this in mind for next time and made sure to state what I wanted up front. They do a good job here and I would recommend! read more

Made a reservation for 6, was waiting until 6:20 when someone was finally ready to take me. The pedicure was reasonably priced, and felt nice until the nail trimming when she seemed to be trying to get something out of my big toe nail, snipping at it for a couple of minutes, leaving a red mark and some pain for the next few days. I've been here a few times for both pedicures and manicures with acrylic or builder gel. I definitely would recommend for pedicures and simple things but both experiences with long nail extensions, my nails either break or chip within 1-2 weeks, whereas at other salons they last 3-4 weeks+. With the expensive costs it's simply not worth it. The place is very cute and staff is very kind. Overall will not get any manicures here in future but pedicures sure. read more

0/10 worst acrylic nail fill and worst nail salon experience I've ever had. Got cut twice and was bleeding on my toe. I asked for a design ahead of time that they should have been transparent about if they couldn't do it, but they did it anyway, and tried to fix it. Three hours go by, I'm late for my plans, and they look embarrassing. I had two people attempting my nails, there is 0 artistry here. On top of that, it was dirty. My hands were placed on a mat that had previous nail bits, that gave me a full body cringe to have to sit with for those three hours. Paint was left all over my fingers, with a gritty feeling from such a sloppy job. It took him one hour to do two nails...Not sure why there were such high reviews. I've gotten my nails done all throughout San Diego for years this is by far the worst place I've ever been to. I'm only writing this to talk about the manicurist named Hanna. I had my appointment scheduled for 9:00 a.m., but she didn't show up until 9:20. On top of that, she was chatting with other people, and I had to remind the staff that my appointment was for nine o'clock -- otherwise, she probably wouldn't have even started with me until 9:30. She finally began at 9:30, and honestly, she was extremely rude and unprofessional. To make things worse, the work she did was terrible. I really don't like speaking badly about anyone, but this was my first time at this salon, and I left feeling very frustrated and upset. The service wasn't cheap -- I paid $60 -- and it was honestly awful. I pointed out several times that one nail was way shorter than the others and needed to be fixed, but she just ignored me. At the end of the appointment, Hanna tried to start a friendly conversation with me, probably hoping for a tip, but I just wanted to get out of there. I didn't tip her at all, which I've never done before, but I made a point of it this time -- she didn't respect my appointment time, and her service was terrible. I'm definitely not going back to that salon, all because of her. Honestly, I have no idea how someone like that even works with the public -- and I truly don't understand how she's a manicurist in the first place. read more

Amazing service. The staff is soooo friendly! Elaine who works up front is so sweet and is very welcoming with my first time being here. Brian was also great and a character. I believe he's the owner. I had Isabella who did my pedicure and it was her first day at this location and was friendly. Will did an amazing job on my manicure. He delivered! It's a cute area. There's street parking, which I was lucky enough to find fairly quickly. Overall will be coming back. Super painful experience. The mani pedi was so brutal and my feet and cuticals are sore even today.

Staff is super nice! They have a variety of colors to choose from. But I can't give them excellent service because the 2 times I've gone in for just regular nail polish on a pedicure I have to sit there for over an hour for the nail polish to dry off! So then they tell you to get the gel which is like $10-15 extra sub charge for it to dry in 5-10 minutes! I guess they have to make $ right read more

Unfortunately, they were super busy when we arrived and I was not able to get the manicure I was hoping for. The owner was very nice and offered for me to come back to receive the service, but our schedule was jam-packed and we weren't able to make it back in. My only complaint is I wish they had taken the time to dig out the ingrowns. Shop was very clean and decorated nicely. I would definitely come back here if I was in the area. Overall, pretty good salon. Although, my last visit wasn't very good. Nina was doing my acrylic fill and she was rushing and the nails came out severely uneven in shape and length. I brought it up to her politely and she was visibly annoyed and just double downed on her poor work.. I remained polite and tipped, but I learned my lesson and will be avoiding her in the future. This is quite literally the best pedicure I have ever had. I don't know what they used but it's been a month since I went and my nails still look insanely fresh no chipping or anything. Immediately after my skin felt baby soft and so fresh. Genuinely I have not received such a high quality service from anywhere EVER. I picked the same color so they would match. Definitely not bringing my child again for her nails to be painted, she cried after we went home and washed her hands, the nail polish immediately started peeling off. Update: A representative from the salon offered for us to come back for a redo of services. I truly appreciate that. I am physically unable to return; but definitely if you are not happy with your services, let them know. I'm sure they will accommodate your request. Just moved to Normal Heights area and found my new nail salon. Brian and his staff are super friendly and the nail salon is so cute. I forget the woman's name that did my pedicure but she did such a good job making sure my toes are cute for summer. I love my nail set and the service provided. The only thing is I made an appointment at 12:15 and didn't leave until 3:55pm so it was a long time being at the salon. They were short staffed but make sure you have time available as it may take longer, especially if you want cute designs. Will definitely be a returning customer. read more

They do not prioritize appointments...Had an appointment for 2:00 and started at 2:45..10 minutes in my nail tech was asked if she's almost done because there are people waiting. I showed a picture of the nails i wanted and gave detail and said "exactly like the picture" but she rushed so much it was completely wrong. No air flow, very hot and stuffy in there. read more
