Their halal pepperoni pizza on a granny crust is TO DIE FOR! It has ricotta cheese and the thickest tastiest crust. We ordered it to our hotel and it stayed piping hot. Definitely would love to go in person one of these days but delivery was perfect for this trip!

I'm having a hard time deciding on a rating for this place. For me the food is a 4.5/5 but the service was more of a 2/5. On one hand I was really impressed. I was pleasantly surprised that the gluten free sicilian crust was soft, fluffy, and not dry. I really liked the balance of the pepperoni, ricotta, and hot honey. The other people I went with tried a variety of other pizzas and really liked them as well. The portions are large and great for sharing with a group. But oh my, the service! It was pretty near terrible. Our waiter was nice but I waited 45 minutes for a cup of water. He refilled half of our party's waters a few times but never the whole table at once even when the opposite side was out of water as well. One person I was with ordered a pizza without cheese due to a dietary restriction which doesn't seem like a complicated request but they messed it up not once but twice. The location is great and there is more seating than I expected. It wasn't terribly loud when we were there either which I appreciate. However, as other reviews mention, the prices are a bit steep. I would be willing to go back on food alone but the lack of service makes it hard to justify.

My goal is to try 50 new Chicago restaurants in 2025! Restaurant: 41/50 Month tried: July Favorite dish: Vodka Sauce Pizza Professor Pizza was a happy surprise! I like that you can order any pizza in any style. We split a vodka sauce pizza and a margarita pizza and both were loaded with toppings and very good. The sauces were really delicious. I will say, it was very expensive. Definitely a place to go with people who have similar tastes so you can share a pizza. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with a huge bill for your own orders.

Pizza was great but we mistakenly got the cracker crust and it was too thin and dry for our liking. We would try a different style next time! The salad was also a little too (bleu) cheesy. And the wait time was insanely long. Hoping to try the other location!

You can't go to Chicago and not have some pizza. Ambiance here seemed super chill. They have plenty of seating at the bar, booths or tables. My family and I really enjoyed the Sicilian style gluten free pizza here last Saturday. The pizza bread was so fluffy and scrumptious. So heavenly! The sauce and over all flavor it had of basil and garlic was so mouthwatering. We also had some honey hot wings that were gluten free and they did not disappoint they were finger licking good. Even the celery was so fresh and crunchy. Needless to say we left feeling complete. The service was very friendly as soon as we came in we were greeted and our server was prompt about getting everything we wanted. He offered us to order with him or they also have a barcode you can scan and put in the order yourself. We decided to just go ahead and order with him. It wasn't too busy that day and we already knew what we wanted prior to stepping in. Highly recommend this pizza spot to everyone because they are so inclusive and delicious! This is another spot on my list to come back to!

Decent pizza spot! Located in the heart of Old Town by a ton of other bars, shops, and restaurants. The vibe inside is cool and looks like a fun place to go to with friends. I really liked the food but the only thing I would've done different is get all our pizza thin crust. We ordered one pie grandma style and one Detroit style. The grandma style is considered "thin" but it was so thick... Just having 2 very thick pizzas was so filling. The overall flavor of both were really good though. My fav was the white pie. The mozz onion rings are a must!

What can I say? The deluxe pepperoni on New York style crust left me speechless. Perfect size slices, amazing flavor that was elevated by the whipped ricotta delicately arranged on the pie, and the thick crust was cooked to perfection. You can't go wrong with pepperoni and hot honey. The night got better when I saw Professor Pizza himself in the iconic sweatsuit, sunglasses and chain! Deduction on a 5th star due to challenges with the online ordering system. The concept is great: scan a QR code to place orders, split checks, and close out at your leisure. BUT it wasn't intuitive to use and I think it's still fairly new, as a few servers were also unsure on how to navigate it. The QR code ordering takes away the opportunity for a more personable experience, but staff did a nice job still checking in. Maybe adding in an option to let staff know you'd like a box and are ready to go would be helpful? I'd absolutely come back here again!

After some less than stellar volleyball performances, my friends and I were pretty hungry. Professor Pizza absolutely hit the spot. They have several celiac-safe gluten free options that are absolutely delicious. The ordering is completely online and you can easily mark that you have a gluten allergy. I wish I lived closer to the Professor because it's such a convenient and tasty option.

Went for lunch to Professor Pizza. The ambiance was good. The food was good too, a bit pricey though. The place did not have many vegetarian/vegan options. Also a feedback, the menu does not have 'V= Vegetarian/Vegan' or 'GF= Gluten Free' written in their menu against those options. It could be confusing for customers who do not eat meat. Honestly, I was not very happy with the service. There was only one server during our visit. Although the restaurant wasn't very busy--with just two other tables occupied--the service was still lacking. The server seemed new. She greeted us politely, but when it came to taking our order, she appeared confused and was unable to answer our questions. After each question, she would ask us to wait while she went inside to check with someone, which left us feeling quite confused. When it was time to pay, we asked to split the bill three ways--as any group of friends would normally do at a restaurant--but she struggled with the system. She stood there for 10 minutes trying to figure it out, and then took our cards inside, presumably to ask someone for help again. She was gone for over 15 minutes, and we had no idea what was happening. My feedback would be to ensure that staff are thoroughly trained before handling customers on their own. If they are still undergoing training, it would be helpful if they politely informed customers that they are new and still learning. That small acknowledgment would go a long way in setting expectations and improving the overall customer experience.

Went here for a weekend lunch with family on a Saturday and it wasn't super busy. Started off with the spinach artichoke dip and that was delicious but I felt like there wasn't enough bread for the amount of dip. We got the pepperoni and deluxe pepperoni both Sicilian style. Very crunchy and saucey and fluffy! I prefer thin crust but these thicker pieces will definitely fill you up! We got two pizzas for a group of three adults and two kids and we probably could've done just one pizza. Service was great, our waitress was nice and our waters were never empty.

I was really looking forward to trying this pizza. The Grandma's pizza looked mouth watering so I ordered the cheese version for delivery. It was pretty disappointing when it showed up. I also got the Buffalo wings and those were good.

I've been a longtime fan of Professor Pizza and used to recommend it all the time, which makes this really disappointing to write. We ordered two pizzas (one gluten-free deluxe pepperoni) and both were a letdown. There was barely any sauce, and some slices were basically just bread and cheese. For ~$70 before tip and delivery, the quality didn't come close to what it used to be. Additionally, I ordered the gabagool pizza, and while the menu didn't list olives, it showed up covered in both green and black olives. Unfortunately, olives are pretty much the one food I don't eat, so that pizza ended up being completely inedible for me. Hoping this was just an off night, but the drop in quality compared to past experiences makes us not want to go back anytime soon.

They were accommodating when I was running 20 minutes behind, which I really appreciated. Once being sat, our server was really kind and knowledgeable. We asked her alllll the questions, and she answered them expertly. My sister in-law actually ordered a drink she didn't like, and our server was kind enough to replace it free of charge. They also come around with bread before entrees! The King Crab Linguine was to DIE for. I loved it. I also got the Lemoncello Spritz which was also delicious and a great pairing. Everyone loved their food. The big thing is the birthday celebration! They allow you to bring your own cake, but if you don't have one, they do give a complimentary tiramisu. It was beautiful, and I felt truly special. Also, they're very open to people taking pictures in the restaurant. Service: service was pretty lacking for the price point. The hostess was MIA when our party arrived, until someone waiting behind us walked in and tracked her down himself. Our waitress was very slow and it took us 2.5h+ to get through a 3 course dinner, most of which was us sitting around waiting. And that's with us packing up dessert to go because we were running behind. Bread service: a nice touch and they give you a lot of Parmesan and oil. We had a no-cheese person, and our request for an extra saucer of dip without cheese was ignored. Guy never name back despite agreeing. Tuna tartar: very well seasoned although you could tell the tuna was a bit low quality. It was noticeably sinewy and unevenly chopped. Steak: we ordered two steak. The Delmonico (boneless) ribeye we ordered medium rare and it came well done. By this point we waited so long for the entrees we were ravenous and just ate it. The NY Strip decently flavorful but didn't stand out. Lobster Diavolo: despite being advertised as spicy the sauce was very mild and somewhat bland. They empty out an entire lobster so there's generous topping in it. Tiramisu: solid dessert and not too sweet. On the firm and dry side. Special occasions: they stick a free club sprinkler in a dessert which makes for an extravagant celebration and great photo op. The interior of the restaurant is extremely loud. They had a live performer playing piano and we couldn't hear each other talk. It's great if you're looking for this type of ambiance. Most of the people were appeared to be celebrating something or a bit dressed up. Service is a miss and the food is very meh for the price. I think you come here for the club-staurant ambiance. Chicago has a lot of places that serve amazing steaks and I don't think Fioretta stacks up on the food or service side.

After three or four stellar visits, we had a fairly rocky fifth that kept us away for the better part of two years. I'm glad to say that appears to have been just a brief bump in the road, and that Rose Mary remains an excellent spot for Italian/Croatian fusion. Everything is fresh and many dishes are seasonal, like the wonderful eggplant fritters with pesto dipping sauce. The batter on the eggplant wasn't too thick, nor was the fry too oily. Similarly excellent was the peach stracciatella, a combo I've never had before but will now crave, the brightness really shining through. But, the true star of the show was another seasonal dish, the chitarra with crab, corn, and truffle. This was a perfect dish, with every ingredient balancing each other out wonderfully. Just when the crab and sauce might be getting too much, you're hit with a pop of fresh corn. When you want a little different flavor, the umami of the truffle kind of steps in from the background. Really, really good. A very nice wine list, attentive service, lovely patio, and fair prices round out an excellent experience.

Or at least don't ask a question when the answer is ignored. The pappardelle was extremely disappointing. Noodles were too soft and the sauce was very bland. Since the pasta is in a takeout container, the problem is exacerbated for the noodles at the bottom since they can't air out at all. Would not order this again. In comparison the cavatelli was a flavor bomb. Very garlicky and good amount of sun dried tomato, and just miles above the pappardelle in the flavor department. Texture of the cavatelli was better too, and much closer to al dente. Chicken seemed a teeny bit old and tough. If I came back, I'd probably order this again, or a different white sauce, with thicker pasta shapes. Maybe this is on roughly the same level or a little lower as the Vapiano's that used to be in Chicago (food-wise, loses ambiance-wise) if you order right, but it's definitely not as good as the Vapiano's in Europe. At least, not currently. Very convenient location right by the Morgan green line. Would I visit again? Hard to say.
