We had dinner at Spacca Napoli tonight & it was incredible. It was busy for a Wednesday night but service was fast & friendly! We had the Margherita & the Salsiccia. The Salsiccia was the best pizza I've ever had. The sausage was like a warm hug. No notes!

Still so good! If you're in the mood for authentic Neapolitan style pizza, THIS IS THE PLACE. I honestly don't think any other place in Chicago comes close. That being said, reservations are essential (and only accepted over the phone), as they are packed even on weekdays. My current favorite is the Capricciosa pizza. Also, their arancini and desserts are delicious. I'd especially recommend the Peaches Vesuvio dessert ~ sooo good. Service is great and the ambience is casual but feels warm, inviting, and suitable for a casual dinner or even date night. There are also a lot of free parking spaces along Ravenswood Ave, and it's close to the Montrose Brown Line stop.

This is one of our favorite pizza places in the city. They don't offer online reservations, but you could call to reserve a table or simply just show up. If you do end up showing up be prepared to wait for a table, but it's totally worth it as the pizzas are absolutely delicious. They have a huge selection to choose from plus lots of yummy appetizers. The ambience is great and also kid friendly! Don't miss out on their delicious desserts to finish your meal. Can't wait to go back! They don't offer valet but we've never had a hard time finding street parking.

We booked well an advance to celebrate a birthday on a weekend. Our party of 6 was 3 who live in Chicago and 3 of us visiting (including myself). I was excited to try this place as my university Italian professor (originally from Italy) had spoken highly of their pizza but I never made it there before I moved out of state. Sadly, it was such a letdown that nothing positive about the pizza I tried is sticking with me. Maybe the recommendation was too outdated (over a decade ago) or maybe ordering the Conciato to try something unique was the totally wrong move. The Conciato had "smoked mozzarella, squash cream, toasted walnuts, and Conciato romano". The squash cream was more like a puree and the Conciato romano cheese was very pungent - approaching a blue cheese taste despite not being such. It overpowered everything else. The pizza was also not hot at all when it arrived at the table, making it somewhat dry considering no sauce. I ate 2 slices and had no desire to eat anymore. The service was really mediocre, honestly even sub-par as the server had walked away as someone in our party was ordering pinot grigio and he brought pinot noir and essentially blamed her. There was absolutely zero acknowledgement of the birthday. With all the great pizza in Chicago (including many Italian-style options), I wouldn't bother coming back here unless someone positively assured me that ordering a different pizza would leave me with a better impression.

We are so fortunate that Spacca Napoli is literally down the block from Lillstreet Art Center, where my daughter and I are taking a ceramic class. When we go home, we always drive by the restaurant and its outdoor patio seating, we were attracted by its nice ambiance and popularity. We decided to check it out when the timing and weather were right. The first time we went, it was a learning experience. We already knew that the indoor seating could be reserved, and outdoors seating was first come first served. You are supposed to join a wait list if the outdoor seating was filled. The very friendly girl named Violet who was in charge of the list advised us that the wait time was about an hour. So, we gave up that time. The second time around, my daughter walked over to Spacca Napoli to put her name and phone number on the wait list for patio seating, and found out that the wait time was 45 minutes. Then she came back to the art center to re-join me, and continue working on her pottery. The staff called her in about 40 to 45 minutes when there was a table available, and could hold the table for us for 10 minutes. We then packed up and walked over to get seated! Success! We picked a nice cool summer evening, the ambiance at the Spacca Napoli was absolutely beautiful and festive with the hanging lights around. Our server was very friendly and professional. Daughter ordered a Funghi Pizza (blended San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte, mushrooms, basil, pecorino gran cru) and a Spritz. I had a Pistacchio Pizza (fior di latte, sausage, pistachio cream, and basil) that our server said was the best. We ended up sharing the pizzas, and they were both very good. I also ordered an Italian Lemon Soda, which was refreshing and not too sweet. We both enjoyed our pizzas and drinks. Like a typical Neapolitan pizza, the crust was fluffy, chewy and tender, and the pizzas and toppings were fresh and flavorful. We had a wonderful evening. We both had leftovers to enjoy the next day. I reheated my leftovers with a hot oven (400°F for 5 to 7 minutes). It made the crust crispy that I liked even more, it was so good! We love our dining experience at the Spacca Napoli, and will definitely return to try more items on their menu.

Was up in Ravenswood for an appointment and finally decided to stop into Spacca Napoli after hearing great things. It's one of the higher-rated pizza spots in Chicago and they do Neapolitan-style, my favorite, so I had to try it. It's a nice sit-down restaurant, but since I wasn't really dressed for it, I grabbed my order to go. Super easy process, placed my order with the hostess in about 30 seconds, and even though she said 15-20 minutes, my pizza was ready in under five. Huge plus. Got the Diavola, my go-to style of Neapolitan pizza, and it was excellent. Heated it up a bit when I got home and it was perfect crispy, flavorful, and honestly about as authentic as anything I've had in Italy. No complaints at all. Between the fast service, great pizza, and overall vibe, Spacca Napoli is absolutely a must-try for Neapolitan pizza in Chicago. Can't wait to come back for a proper sit-down meal with friends next time.

A delightful neighborhood place. Others have covered the pizza options well. Our favorite was the unusual pistacchio with crumbled sausage. It's very rich, but worth it. I would have liked more figs on the fig and prosciutto. We loved both of the daily specials we tried: a lemony kale salad and grilled asparagus with yummy walnut cream. I was expecting something like the cashew cream sauce you'd get at a vegan restaurant, but this was more like walnut baba ghanoush. Delicious! The room is pleasant and the servers got the job done. If it hadn't been crazy humid, we would have enjoyed sitting outdoors in the sidewalk cafe area.

Coming from someone who typically doesn't like neopolitan style pizza, this place was incredible! Great service and they have a beautiful cozy interior and patio seating as well. They have tons of options for pizza with a good selection of vegetarian items. We started with the eggplant appetizer which was delicious! For pizza we had the buffalina and pistacchio (no sausage) and they were both SO SO good! Definitely do not skip on the desserts! The mini cannolis were to die for.

I finally had a chance to try Spacca Napoli after having had it bookmarked for years on Yelp. I stopped by for lunch and had the soup of the day to start. The soup consisted of rapini, sausage, and chunks of bread. While it was flavorful, it was also extremely salty. For the pizza, I had the famous Pistachio pizza which fortunately lived up to the hype. I wish I had picked something else as the starter, but the meal overall was pretty good.

Sweet dreams are made of these. Who am I to disagree?

I've been wanting to try this place for a minute and I'm so glad I did! So many pizzas to choose from that sound absolutely fantastic. I decided to go OG and go for a bufalina which is a bit fancier margarita and it's amazing. A glass of red wine, a seat outside, and a pizza to myself I don't have to share. Go and check it out!

Awesome pizzas, very accommodating for families, and fast service. Would recommend the pizzas and while we got gluten free and it was edible, little extra powdery, I'd be interested in what a gluten pizza tastes like.

Wow, the Neapolitan pizza here is amazing!! It's fresh and authentic. Any pizza you order will be absolutely delicious! We got 5-6 pizzas, 2 appetizers, and 2 desserts to share to feed 9 people. It was the right amount of food. Highly suggest making reservations in advance bc it can get very busy here. They do have outside seating which can be nice if the weather is good.

Do they accept Mastercard and Visa?

    Yes, they do.

    Is there a takeout option?

Probably but this is not the type of pizza you want for takeout unless you were going to be eating in minutes anyway. Neopolitan pizza is only baked for 60-90 seconds and you want that crust perfect. It is about both flavor and texture.

Up until tonight, my experiences had always been positive and the food was fantastic. Unfortunately, this visit was more than disappointing. I ordered a salad I've had at least a dozen times before, accept I added grilled chicken on top. I live for this salad and was just there maybe three weeks ago. Unaware that they have changed their menu, I ordered as usual. The name of the salad has not changed on the menu, but apparently the ingredients had been completely altered. When the dish arrived, to my surprise, it was drastically different and not something I enjoyed at all. I politely informed our server, who was kind and accommodating, and offered to replace the dish. However, it was now 6 p.m. we had tickets to see The Wiz at 7 p.m. and didn't have time to wait for another order, which I also informed her. I asked if the salad could be removed from the bill since it was essentially untouched. The server checked with the owner, who refused to remove the $30 salad or offer any kind of discount. When a restaurant changes a dish but keeps the same name, it creates a reasonable expectation for returning customers. When that expectation isn't met, basic customer service should step in. What makes this even more frustrating is that the restaurant was willing to prepare an entirely new dish, but not willing to remove the uneaten one from the bill. That simply isn't logical. If you're prepared to replace an item, it clearly acknowledges there was an issue, so refusing to comp or adjust the original charge is unreasonable. That decision was extremely disappointing. I, in-turn made the decision to eat only the additional grilled chicken on top, leaving the rest of the salad, paying the full bill and promptly getting out of there so we could be on time for our show. The only positive part of the experience was our server, who handled the situation with professionalism and kindness. Sadly, the new menu leaves much to be desired and this experience has cost Peanut Park my business and my referrals going forward.

Reservations are released 21 days ahead of time, which I personally find impossible to make. Every time I've checked over the last several years there have been no availability. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining so I went ahead and booked a table for Friday night. I felt like I won the dinner lottery. Service was wonderful and I didn't mind sitting outside at all next to the road with cars. I actually never stepped foot in the restaurant so cannot comment on what it's like inside. But do not give up that patio dining reservation if it's available. All of our dishes were delicious. I was really impressed by the meatball appetizers, chicken vesuvio (the potatoes are a must get as a side if you skip this dish), and branzino. The meats and sauces were wonderfully balanced and tender. Nothing tasted overly salted. Ironically, the pasta felt less of a star compared to the other dishes. And of course I had to get the gelato, which was so aesthetically presented and the taste just reminded me of an Italian summer vacation.
