I first used Progressive Cleaning Corp 13 years ago for a move-out cleaning when I left my condo for a detached home. I was so impressed with their work that I continued to use them at my new home: 1) for deep cleaning prior to parties and holiday gatherings, 2) when I could afford it, for regular bi-weekly cleanings, and 3) most recently, for a deep-clean before putting my house on the market. The cleaning staff is always kind and courteous, and when the supervisor doesn't speak English well, Evelyn or Jason keep in contact via phone to make sure you know what is going on. They always arrive on time, and their work is exceptional!! After this deep clean, there's not a single dog hair, speck of dirt, or stain on any of my baseboards, the walls are clean, and the dust is gone... I hired Progressive Cleaning after being quoted through yelp for 1.5-2 hours or $180-240 for a move out cleaning. I was comfortable with this quoted amount and would even have been comfortable with a slightly higher final price. However, when I received the invoice (11 hours after my appointment) it was for more than 3 hours, or $362. I was shocked and surprised that the invoice was for more than double the initial quote! On top of that, I never received a phone call or communication to let me know they'd be going over the quoted time or that they had finished. What is more shocking, my husband and I cleaned everything the day before to ensure they'd be able to finish the details as quickly and efficiently as possible. We swept, vacuumed, mopped, wipe the cabinets and floor boards, and scrubbed the entire fridge and shower. It is wild to me that it took a team of 3 people more than three hours to complete the rest of the cleaning. And they even left a higher shelf dirty! They also complained in Spanish about the walk to the elevator. My husband is Mexican, I understood what they were saying... After letting Evelyn know I was uncomfortable with the cost and felt taken advantage of, there was no apology or attempt to remedy the situation. She just yelled at me for not submitting payment when they didn't send me the invoice until Friday night. We also had our carpets shampooed that day, they were paid promptly because they sent me an invoice promptly. Overall, I would not recommend. From looking at reviews, it seems like they routinely bill for 3 hours. Meaning my quote was a dishonest bait and switch. This was my first time having them to do a detail cleaning for my empty home. And I am not impressed. Pro: 1. Maids arrived on time. 2. Great communications in terms of scheduling 3. Did a good job of cleaning the fridge, oven and stove Cons: 1. Overrated and high price for a below average Quality of work 2. My house is pretty much empty and there are couple areas that I don't even need them to clean but it took them 2.5 hours. They missed certain big areas like main cabinets, closets, bathroom...like how can you miss it? I think it is because I was out for 2 hours and they were just chilling and taking their time 3. It is kind of like a show when you are around them and you thought they are doing a lot of cleaning but if you look closer later, they don't even do much cleaning. I requested a move-in/move-out cleaning from Progressing Cleaning. The cleaners were presented with a bedroom and bath that had previously been cleaned. The service was alright overall. The shower stall and the blinds in particular were cleaned well. I was disappointed, though, that when I found a few areas that had been overlooked I was accused of complaining. Although the 3 ladies addressed the areas I pointed out, I chose not to mention others because of their attitude. I had hoped to be able to use Progressive for a larger job in the future. However, given the less than stellar work performed by 3 individuals in 1.5 hours, I don't believe the value reflected the cost of the service. read more

I wasn't sure what the services would be like since I know my standards are outrageously high, but I wanted to try it. I have to update my review to reflect our latest experience, which has much more to do with management than the actual cleaners. 1) The communication with both management and their cleaning teams was horrible. I was an existing customer and they could not provide an accurate bill reflecting my name and address despite multiple attempts. I could go on - but bottom line is that they are extremely disorganized and even disrupted my neighbors due to lack of communication with their team. 2) They charge whatever they want. Despite hiring them last summer for the same service on a bigger apartment, they jacked up the cost of my closeout cleaning over $100 beyond the quote they provided. They did not ask permission first - they did not contact me to notify me it would cost more - they just charged my card. I contacted management to inquire and was given a load of crap about my empty apartment being too dirty after I spent the weekend moving everything out and pre-cleaning it for them! This is plain wrong. I no longer live in the area so there's no risk of me using them again. I would advise that you cannot trust their quotes and their management is a disaster. Would not recommend and WILL NOT use them again. read more
