My daughter has been attending this gymnastic facility since 2022. She has moved up as she aged and really likes it here. She loves coach Erin a lot! She is very sweet, professional and understanding. Patty at the front desk is very helpful and kind. My son recently started Ninja Warriors and really enjoys it. I like that you are able to see the Ninja warrior group easily through the window. The facilities are usually clean and updated. The waiting room and parking lot can get crowded when there's a lot of classes going on, which makes it hard sometimes. You can view the kids in gymnastics, with the cameras they have connected on the TV, which can get difficult to see sometimes as well. read more

We love Ninja class! My son is a super shy little boy and I wanted to put him in some type of activity. We tried tee ball, soccer, gymnastics. He wanted karate but I stumbled upon this ninja class. Now, the traffic in the area and parking lot are a pain: but it is totally worth it for me to see the smile and excitement for my little man. He is so engaged and learning about his muscles and body. The activities are supervised and challenging. When he class is over he asks if we can go back tomorrow. He loves his coaches and the head coach, Antonio is helpful and friendly even if you aren't in his class. The front desk ladies, Denise and young ladies are accommodating and helpful. When my son was reluctant to enter the gym they kindly jumped in and walked him to class. We are finishing our first semester with them and have already signed up for the next one. We send our young children to Ninja Warrior here. The price is on the high side and sometimes I feel a bit nickel and dimed with various fees (insurance, uniform, end of semester show, etc), but the facilities are very nice and the coaches have done a good job with our kids. Our kids have definitely learned valuable skills (basic tumbling, improved balance, etc) and it's a fun activity to do, and it's a great option for us at this point particularly when the weather is too cold or too hot outside. I have very mixed feelings. Between two kids we have gone here for 7 years - the basics are: coaching is good, space is fine, the owner Wendy and her business practices are lousy and penny-ante. Prime example: 2 year old is finishing two semesters of mommy and me gymnastics, after tuition, uniform, mandatory gym bag purchases it's around $800! The gym has a "show" day and they hit you up for $5/kid for a ribbon and certificate. Seriously?! I think, I'm a good customer I should tell the owner this is crazy. So I did. I said I resented being asked for $5 when we've paid so much tuition and mentioned she could raise the tuition $10 and no one would flinch but that this was nickel and dimming the customer. Her thoughtful response: you don't have to stay, just leave. WTF????? How is that for customer service? She then said the money is for the staff not the gym, so I repeated if you increased tuition by $10, you could give the money to the staff in the beginning. Needless to say I was taken aback. I tried again and said, I've been coming here a long time, I've spent thousands of dollars and referred dozens of people here and I'm trying to give you constructive feedback. Her response: everyone refers to me we are the best. So, should you go here? The coaches are great, they are good with class make ups, but giving money to someone who treats her customers like that rubs me the wrong way. read more

Where do I begin. I sent my daughter here for several semesters before COVID hit which caused them to close. I had just paid for another session in full and we were only able to attend to sessions before covid forced them to close. Fast forward to where I have been going back and forth with Alexis the owners daughter who has informed me that an email was sent showing that I had to use the credit by August 31st. The call was was made on sept 2nd. Alexis is advising me that I will not be able to use my credit, I have basically lost my $685. They are unwilling to compromise in any way. In today's day in age...kids need to move. Times have changed and our children are not out playing in the streets as we did growing up...they are glued to their digital devices and sedentary! The Ninja Warrior program at Progressive Gymnastics is terrific! My 6-year old daughter was always climbing and swinging in the playground, and the coaches at the Ninja program at PAC encouraged her and taught her new skills. We looked at other places that offered Ninja classes for kids, but none of them looked as clean and updated as PAC. If you watch American Ninja Warrior, you'll recognize a lot of the obstacles. This is a really good fit for our kid who doesn't sit still and they offer free trial classes if you're not sure it's a fit for your family. read more

My youngest daughter had taken gymnastics here. When my husband passed away last year, I decided to sign up all 3 of my kids for the ninja warrior class. Wanted something to keep them busy and look forward to on the weekends. They might have went to 3 classes (due to getting the flu and a vacation they missed some classes) in the Spring and then Covid came....Well, I spent almost 2000 for them to have an activity together and I have not been refunded a dime. I was told I should sell my classes to someone.....really? Unacceptable. I steer people away from this location in every possible way. Mom groups, PTA organizations, school groups and my large work corporation. In talking to people, I also know that I am not alone and they have withheld deserving refunds to other parents as well. Do not invest a dime at this facility. The owner is very dishonest. You are better to find another facility that offers transparent payment plans and refunds if kids age out activities. I'll get right to the point and explain why I didn't give this place 5 stars and it's ALL BECAUSE OF THE CAMERAS. The place is divided into 2 areas, area one is a made for really young children and is probably almost completely viewable by parents and spectators from the waiting area via a large glass window.....great but the problem is area two....where my daughter plays. There are cameras but the ONE flat screen on the wall in the waiting area is split into 4.....and 2 of the 4 camera feeds are from the already viewable area (#1) so parents can barely see their kids on the 2 cameras encompassing only 1/2 of the flat screen from area #2!!! I want to invite my mom to see her granddaughter but it's useless to have her sitting and completely unable to see see her on 1/2 of all 55 inches of monitor. Now if there were another TV dedicated to JUST the other side, that would be a major advancement forward. The other option is to make the one monitor soley dedicated to the second play area since parents are allowed to be with their young children in room 1, so little need for a camera or at very least at the cost of parents who can't see anything in room 2. Now, for the good part. The place is clean and the staff is SUPER FRIENDLY and my daughter likes it here and she is comfortable and that is all I can ask for and that is a testament to the staff here. The prices and rules are fair and the fact that you can make up missed dates is great. Overall, my daughter enjoys coming here and I don't see anything that would make me not want to return so we will be back and hopefully I would be able to see my daughter instead of posting YELP reviews as I wait..... read more

Lots to say about this place. Pros: -flexibility. If you miss a class, you get a make up class. It's that simple. And they have lots of slots you can make it into -coaches: we've been really lucky with our coaches. they're great at encouraging in a supportive yet not too pushy way with our toddler -best time of our toddler's day: seriously, she LOVES it. it's the fastest 45min-1hr ever. She's just smiling, running around, jumping around the whole time. And when it's winter and she can't do that outside, thank god for gymnastics. Cons: -some coaches we've met in make-up classes are a little too pushy -office staff a little inconsistent/weird -size - it's a small-ish gym, so there's no real dedicated toddler space, they just convert it for the toddlers. It works well enough, but it's definitely not like "mygym" in California where we've visited friends that are dedicated toddler centers. -size of classes - our class started out really nice with about 10 kids... but it's ballooned to about 20, which is way too large for the space and learning. -age groups- they try to keep siblings together, but that comes at a cost to other kids sometimes. ie: does my 1.5 old really need to be in class with a 3.5 year old? I don't even think it's really good for the 3.5 year old either. I kind of wish they stuck more to their age requirements. Overall, we really like it and will keep going! read more

I have been going there for over 6 years with my boys. We love coach Antonio but the owner Wendy should be ashamed of herself. She is more concerned with her business and her partners then the health and well being of her staff and the safety of the children. Wendy is not only rude but she is one of the most dishonest people I have ever met. She tell you that she is willing to do one thing then says another. She hangs up on you and constantly says I have to worry about the money and the bottom line is always "I am running a business". As a parent I will tell everyone and anyone to never send their child here and let them know that she only cares about making money and not about the kid. My 3 year old takes a class here. Overall it's very well run. A few notes: the weekends are a madhouse and parking is a nightmare. Weekdays are fine. For this age they have a 9-1 class ratio, but they do let it balloon up some days and I do not think this is safe for the kids. Would much prefer 2 coaches even with 9 kids there since some need extra assistance and others run around, causing the coach to not be able give full attention. Safety must be the priority and having one coach spotting the kids while another deals with typical preschooler behavior should be instituted. Even if the second coach is a college student or trainee would be fine to allow the coach to focus on spotting. Front desk is helpful and very flexible makeup policy is terrific. Attended a preschoolers birthday party here and it was fabulous - pricey but aren't they all. Kids had a great time and definitely recommend. read more

If I can give you 0 stars I would. Disgusted at your treatment to that child with Down Syndrome at the Ninja Warrior Class. To kick him out after only a few minutes- didn't even give him a chance! How could you? Just because he has down syndrome it does not mean you can treat him different. I understand if he was being disruptive or endangering other children but no... you discriminated against him and if I was his parents, I would be taking you to court for discrimination. My daughter asked to join gymnastics. I chose this place because it was convenient to my commute home from work. At first, she was enjoying herself. As the classes progressed, she started to become more nervous and even came out crying a couple of times. The coach stated that she wasn't able to do certain things at the time that she should be able to do. I know it's part of life to deal with a challenge. However, for her age group I did not appreciate the pressure put on her. It was suppose to be a fun experience. I did one semester and I did not go back. The coach seemed to be type A and needed to focus on building self-esteem as well as training. Some children are sensitive and need positive reinforcement. It's unfortunate, my daughter has not asked about gymnastics and the classes since we left. I guess we shall stick to dance. If she asks for gymnastics classes I will definitely try out a new place. I so very wish I could give this place 5 stars after working with them for over 4 years, 2 kids, and thousands of dollars for classes (martial arts, dance, gym, etc) and parties BUT I cannot. I have multiple classes there with my kids that costs thousands of dollars a semester and there are times when the classes run at alternate times and I have to keep one child busy while the other is in class. The WiFi is the only thing that helped me to keep the opposite child busy while in class. They turned off the WiFi and will not accommodate parents. This is absolutely ridiculous for all of the money that I have spent here throughout the years. Perhaps they are not parents themselves and don't realize how difficult it is to keep one child entertained while the other is in a class which lasts 90 minutes to 2 hours. Initially, I was lukewarm about this place but there are so many nice things to say about this place. The coaches are terrific, they know how to find the right people to work with the little ones. They know how to teach and communicate with them. There's a lot of space for the little ones to tumble and run around. Not only that, the space is specifically coordinated / designed for that specific class. I've been coming here for open gym for at least 3 years now. I've never had the chance to sign my kids up for a class yet just because we don't live exactly close by, but the gym itself is great. I feel compelled to write an outstanding review for Antonio, who is the lead gymnastics instructor at Progressive Gymnastics. Antonio takes the time to get to know all the kids and their strengths and weaknesses. My son is low-toned and although he enjoys gymnastics, he is often challenged to keep up. Antonio helps my son achieve small victories each time we go, so that he feels proud of himself and motivated to keep trying. Had a great experience with PGI East. They just held a tumble clinic for my coaches and some of my GC Spirit students. Wendy was wonderful to deal with and her staff is very responsive and extremely knowledgeable. The coaches ran a great clinic that benefited all that attended. My daughter has been going here for a year. The gym at first seemed to be OK. After the fall semester of classes they told me that she was very advanced and wanted her to join the advanced gymnastics for the next spring session. It was very expensive, but I made the choice to register her again because she enjoyed going. On her last day of gymnastics class for the spring semester my daughter told me she wanted to ask if she "got in" to the more advanced classes. I gave her permission to ask the coach how the girls find out via a meeting or letter in the mail. My eight year old just asked "Excuse me coach Lexi but I wanted to know if I made it to advanced gymnastics for next year?", her response was with an attitude "I'm sorry but your not good enough" followed by a hand flick (get lost) and fake smile. As a mother who wants to protect her child I went into defense mode as tears ran down her cheeks. I told coach Lexi that not how you talk to an eight year old and you should never tell a child they are not good at something. If she didn't make the cut then you sit down with the child talk about all the good things they do and then talk about how next year the two of you will work hard on the things that need improvement, followed by being optimistic about trying out next year. I mean I don't think that's asking too much for a coach to do. These girls really look up to the coaches and to be treated so horribly is crushing. The owner just stood their with her arms crossed not saying a word. It's sad how she allows these young girls with no expierence to run the show and treat children this way. This place just wants your money, they don't care about the kids safety (my child got hurt multiple times), and they put too much competitive pressure on the children ( yelling at them throughout class) instead of promoting a enjoyable expierence. Gymnastics should be fun for children and this gym takes the joy out of your kids heart. Make the right choice and go somewhere else. I want to say that we're were so psyched that Progressive Gym was starting a Ninja Warrior class. My kids are huge fans of the TV show and when we go to local playgrounds, my 8-yr-old makes her own Ninja Warrior courses and really gets into it. Progressive Gym has even installed many of the actual obstacles you see on the show. However, it pains me to say, they have really been managing the classes and organizing the activities in a really half-hearted way. The classes also have gotten quite big and there is not enough staff to manage them. I feel like they are trying to collect more and more fees but not willing to spring for adequate staffing and training. I've seen kids fall from obstacles and get hurt because there's only one person spotting kids on structures several feet off the floor and also trying to keep the line and activity moving, something at least 2 staff members should be doing. Some of the staff are amazing, but many are clearly overwhelmed and phoning it in. Once, while I was in the gym area watching, a kid was on top of the 6 foot warp wall trying to negotiate grabbing the slide-pole to get down. The staff member operating that particular activity was calling out to the kids in line to keep moving while the kid on the wall was seconds away from falling to the floor. I happened to be watching and had to yell to the spotter to look up and help the kid. He practically caught him as the boy was falling off. I literally saved a kid from getting a broken arm or something. In the next class, the owner rudely reprimanded me for being out in the gym area during the class. I felt like saying, "Yeah? Thanks to me being out here, I probably saved you from a law suit last week." Needless to say, and sadly, we will not be renewing for the next set of sessions. Progressive, please get your act together and run the Ninja class correctly so that it's organized and safe for the kids. What an amazing transformation!! I had friends who came here many years ago for "mommy & me" and classes for were for younger children.... so I always assumed it was geared towards "little ones"..... NOT THE CASE AT ALL!! My 10 year old son loves their Ninja program!! (One of the few on the island) Think obstacles courses and American Ninja warrior!! It's AWESOME!!!! They have brand new equipment, certified phys ed teachers who have created a fun and safe curriculum for the kids! Also, I am a stickler for germs and things being clean...all the kids are provided with special slipper-like shoes that have treads on the bottom, so that no outside dirt or germs get into the gym!! I also have a 6 year old girl that does gymnastics too, which she loves. But to be honest, I doubt she'll be taking it to the next level so it's good to know that she can do something else bc Ninja goes until 13 or 14 years old!! Progressive aka PAC is a family run business and the owner can always be seen, whether helping the kids with their water bottles, answering questions or even directing traffic!!! LOL Wendy couldn't be nicer!! I'll stop rambling, but I am just so happy that we have rediscovered PAC!! Oh one more thing.... they also let us do a trial class before we committed!! My camp, HIllcrest Jewish Center Day Camp, has been coming to Progressive Gymnastics during the summer for many years. The children always have a great time. This year, in addition to the gymnastics program, I brought our Tween group to the Ninja Warriors program. We LOVED it. The kids had the best time. The course was very similar to the one seen on the television program, American Ninja Warriors. I can't recommend it enough. We will definitely return next summer! read more

Disability Discrimination!! I would like to give them 0 stars!! Last night we took our son to the 5:15 Trial Ninja Warrior Class. We had a pre-scheduled appointment. We told them that our 7 year old son has Down Syndrome. Our son was so happy to to join as he loves the Ninja Warrior show. Once we completed registration, we had our son join the class. Within 5 minutes Wendy came over to us and informed us that our son had to leave immediately. We were shocked. Wendy the owner told us that she was familiar with Down Syndrome and that this was not the place for Hamza. If she was so familiar with Down Syndrome she should have known that it would take him time to adapt. That is why we had the trial. She said he could get hurt and was a liability. We were literally shown the door. It was hard to get our son to understand that his class was over in 10 minutes. We didn't even get our full trial class!! They are the opposite of Progressive!! read more

A wonderful place for kids! My nephew just started at progressive gymnastics and can't get enough! He started doing his forward rolls all by himself the other day. He's swings on the bar, and I can already see the progress and strength that gymnastics is giving him. I would recommend this gym to anyone who's child loves to be active. This is just ok. I've been to several birthday parties here and the staff seemed nice enough so I decided to enroll my kids in the gym class but was disappointed. The gymnastics "coaches" were mostly high school kids working there part time. There was little structure to the class and a lot of waiting for your turn (to tumble, to walk the beam, etc). They had 2 or 3 classes going on at the same time of different age groups in one open gym, making it distracting for young kids. The gym and equipment itself could use some updating and the waiting room gets really crowded with parents from 2-3 classes waiting for their children. Tight parking. Cost of classes is over $30 per class which is pricey even for the Great Neck area. Also, they make you pay for your own insurance which I found unusual. read more

I have had many birthday parties for my children at progressive gymnastics in Lake Success and each and everytime it was a blast! All of the children left with a smiile on their face, and that's what i was most happy about.The staff and instructors where exceptional by providing all the means of a great party!
