Our dog had a tumor removed at this clinic and was sent home with an incision that raised immediate concerns (photos show the incision 24 hours after surgery and again two weeks later). After two weeks, we contacted the clinic and were asked to come in immediately because they also found the photos concerning. When we returned, staff acknowledged it did not look right, and the owner ultimately repaired it himself, stating that it should never have left the office in that condition. After sharing photos of the original incision with two other veterinary providers, both expressed concern about how it was closed and explained that it appeared improperly done, increasing the risk of infection and unnecessary pain for our dog. Following the repair, the staples continued to look concerning. As pet parents, we were no longer comfortable taking chances and sought emergency veterinary care. We have since transferred our dog's care to another provider. What made this experience even more upsetting was how our concerns were handled afterward. Communication became dismissive and defensive rather than supportive or reassuring. Trust is everything when it comes to your pet's health. Unfortunately, that trust was lost, and I would not recommend this clinic for surgical care. If you care deeply about your pet, please proceed with caution.

She had multiple seizures, so we rushed her into the emergency room, explained her symptoms and what was currently happening; the Vet tech immediately took Bubo into a room for observation, testing and a blood drawl. As we waited, we filled out paperwork, the staff in the waiting room were all very friendly and helpful. We appreciated their hospitality, providing coffee, and tea and the wait time was reasonable, considering it was an holiday and they were busy. Eventually, the Dr. Christopher Kuechle, DVM Attending Doctor, kindly explained Bubo's condition, results of the testing and treatment options. We chose to start her on anti seizure medication, hoping that she would respond to treatment. Although the next day, my family and I lost our precious Bubo, at least we tried, gave the meds a chance, had closure, and said our final goodbyes. We are grateful to Blue Pearl for their professionalism, service and support of our furry family member, who we lost, but will always have a special place in our hearts. Sincerely, L

Waited in lobby while at least 10 other parties got serviced (including half who came in after me). After 2 hours of waiting was told "technically you are next" and would be been forwarded to an exam room shortly. Then, after 2 hours later, I walked out the door (after approaching the front desk a couple of times more). The experience: Absolute callous indifference to endless waiting with no attention to my requests for service. What tipped me over the edge was reading Yelp reviews of people who were treated just as poorly and some who felt ripped off at the charges and extraneous services/tests performed. This place is not recommended by my vet and now I understand why! Later that afternoon, I drove a bit further and sent my cat to another establishment -- he got serviced within15 minutes and the cost was reasonable. I'd never go to Blue Pearl again! You can tell he knows his stuff and he cares about the animals…read more I accidentally took my dog to Bloomfield Point Veterinary on Woodward, and that was a horrible mistake. It was extremely dirty inside, and the doctor there seemed agitated when my dog jumped on him. He didn't mean any harm, he just wants to play with anyone he comes in contact with. He's a rescue, and he hasn't learned yet not to jump on people when he comes in contact . We're working on it! They also charged me for an oral flea medication, and a shot. They never gave him neither, I didn't realize it until I looked at my bill that I was charged for those things. So we had to go back the next day, to receive the things that I paid for, but didn't get ! Soooooo this time, when I searched in Google, I meant Bloomfield Animal Hospital, so I made sure this time I got it right. He's so caring and knowledgeable, and prices are extremely reasonable.

I called the emergency clinic and was told the dosage amount had likely poisoned him and he needed ER care immediately. When I called the clinic the next day, they reconfirmed the amount and said it was correct. Zero accountability and no concern for my dog's condition. The office is old. They don't use electronic records. And the vet cannot bend or get down to the dog's level. I was asked to hike my 80 pound golden retriever to the waist high table while the vet sat there. So happy to have switched over to a new clinic. I'd recommend staying far from this office.

Then, decided to take the longer drive later that day to Oakland Veterinary Referral Services. Called ahead and my cat got serviced within 15 minutes. Everything was thorough, friendly & professional; and the fee was reasonable. I highly recommend this establishment which did an terrific job in attending to my injured cat. My vet recommends Oakland Veterinary Referral Services in emergencies when his establishment is not open. I clearly can see why! It was well worth the drive -- now my cat is doing well. Highly recommended!

Pricing is reasonable, I didn't feel it was overly expensive for either visits. I also appreciate the appointment availability - they have a lot of options.
