I did a keratin treatment, and because I have a thick long strong Asian hair, so it usually takes more time to do treatment. Renee is so good at treating Asian hair and I was surprised that she has lots of experience with Asian hair before. My hair comes out smooth, shiny, silky and much lighter than before. Besides, The product I used which is called 'Brazilian blowout' is the best I have used ever, it doesn't have any punchy smell. She was even so gracious to come to our home and cut/style my MIL's hair once she was physically unable to for hair appointments. I can't thank her enough for that special blessing. When a lady is used to going to the salon and really makes her feel good, there's nothing like a stylist that makes it happen at home, despite the circumstances. Outside of this extreme kindness, we have always had good experiences with Sheila and Diane. I have had cuts by Sheila - she keeps me looking young and fun :) my daughters both got their back to school cuts with Diane this year. Although it was very clear she doesn't regularly do kids hair, she made it work and they loved how they felt and looked when we left. Finally I happened upon Leones Hair Design. After seeing good reviews here, I gave them a call. I was a little skeptical at first...they were really affordable compared to the other places I'd looked at and they were a little too easy to schedule with...but I figured, hey, beggars can't be choosers. Well color me impressed! I apologized for not knowing a lot about hair, and showed Emily the picture of the hairstyle I wanted and tried to articulate any desires that differed from what was exactly in the image. I also asked her to keep in mind that I have really thick hair, and keeping it up and intact has been historically a Sisyphean task. In about a half hour I walked out with a great hairstyle for a great price! I was giddy about how great it had turned out -- an even better version of what I was envisioning -- and got so many compliments! About a year ago I paid for a similar style at Drybar for $90 before tip. It stayed up all right but wasn't very exciting. This one was much better and for $65! She is super nice and not very chatty for a hair stylist but she takes her work seriously!!! I love my hair and I will keep going to her for cuts and foils. Be specific and clear about what you want and you will be happy. I have once ventured to another salon on Newbury street, where I paid $70 plus tip for a cut+blow dry and got pretty much zero change in my hair. This salon is more affordable and my stylist does an amazing job!
