The quality of the gel manicure on my right hand is really bad. I didn't notice it immediately inside but under the sunlight after I left, you can see the bubbles on the index finger and the lines on the thumb. It looks disgusting and for the price I'm paying it is not worth it. read more

Buyer beware, this place adds extra fees that are not disclosed! My daughter and I signed up online for deluxe pedicures for $68 each--pricey, but it was a special treat, so I decided to splurge. The service was decent, but at checkout we were informed that my pedicure cost $10 extra because the technician who did my nails was "more experienced." This was not a person I selected but someone randomly assigned to me and there was no way I could have known she would cost $10 more. When I pointed this out, the manager didn't budge: $78 it was, despite the fact that our reservation clearly stated we had signed up for a $68 service. We won't be going back. read more

Recently moved to the Lexington area and have been trying to find a new local nail salon. I tried a few others before coming to Miniluxe Lexington, and definitely seems to be the one! I have been getting gel manicures and pedicures with Helen for about 3 months now, and couldn't be happier. She's so talented and precise with my nails- and they always turn out great! I have yet to have a problem with the Gel chipping. Helen is very precise and really cares about providing her customers with a great experience.  Another thing I really appreciated is that when I am a bit indecisive with the specifics I wanted, she provided her opinion on what she thought might look best but not in a pushy way, just giving advice. Other smaller things to note: Covid protocols seemed to be handled well- I walked in and immediately noticed the cleanliness of the place. There were dividers between each nail customer, every employee was wearing a mask, and they required every client to wear one as well. After visiting many nail salons, I can say that none are quite as clean as MiniLuxe when it comes to the sterilization of their tools. I've always received lovely manicures and pedicures here and I can't imagine going anywhere else. The pedis will last me a month and the gel manis last over 3 weeks for me. Went for the first time with a friend today to this location and had such a positive experience. My friend is actually a manager for the company and has told me that she's never worked for a company that cares about its employees like this. They provide solid hourly pay ($15/hr), provide medical benefits, and give ample opportunities for upward mobility. Good nail salon to support in a world that doesn't always give such benefits! Furthermore - I got a gel manicure, and although it's slightly pricey ($45), you get what you pay for! My nail technician was a very nice girl named Kasey who was a pleasure to talk to and did a very thorough and precise job. I've bitten my nails my whole life, and so she didn't have much to work with, but final product of was phenomenal! I hope they become the star bucks of nail salons. read more

My feet had skin still there from the callous treatment which I couldn't notice until I got home. Gel started chipping 2 days later and it was a janky job. I only went here once, so take this as you will, but I had an excellent gel manicure with Kacey. So this is more a review of her, though the salon was very clean and the stations seemed sanitary. Kasey did a stellar job; I think the best gel manicure I have ever had. (Well, there was one other technician at Nails & Co. in Burlington, MA who I would say was/is equally as good (Robert), but really no other technicians within the past several years who I would recommend.) Back to Kacey....My nail length matched across all my fingers. (Crazy,I know, right?!) She gave me the exact shape I wanted - square with rounded corners. Not square. Not round. Not almond. Also, there was not a bare spot in any corner of my nails, nor was there any runover of polish or clear coat onto my skin anywhere. Best part of all - this gel manicure lasted like 2 weeks. I think that is the longest gel manicure I have ever had. Most start to chip or peel after a week or sometimes less with a technician who doesn't prep the nail well enough. With this manicure, in fact, I struggled to take it off myself. Usually, after more than a week - 2 weeks in this case, I could peel off most of the gel. So, kudos to Kacey! I kind of didn't want to mention her name because now it will be hard to book with her (LOL), but she deserves kudos! Great work, Kacey!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! I live in Lexington and have gone to a few nail places around. Needed to get my nails done for my wedding. BIG mistake. Not only did the girl cut me once but SIX times. Yes that's correct 6 times. I almost stated to cry when she was doing my pedicure. Her nails were way too much and she keep pintching me. My poor fiancée was next to me the entire time and could tell I was in pain. After when getting my nails I kept saying ouch and she said sorry and sorry. After she was "done" my nails looked awful. Smudged and bubbles in them. The only good part of this place is the guy who sits at the desk, he was nice. I will never go back. read more

Pros: I loved the interior of this place. They were undergoing renovations when I went in, but the vibe is really luxurious. My nail tech was really friendly and really paid a lot of attention to detail. It's also a fairly decent price at $20 for a manicure. Cons: Since it was under renovation, there were a limited amount of nail polish colors available. It was also really busy and even though I had an appointment, I had to wait for about 20 minutes before I got someone to do my nails. This would have been really frustrating if I was in a rush. Went in for a Gel pedi on May 28th. Cost of pedi- $64. What you get for $64 gel pedi: A foot soak, a tidying up of the toes, polish, and get out. Nothing special. No massage, no moisturizing, nothing. Totally overpriced. At the end, I went to pay, and the incompetent receptionist ran my card twice. She messed up and had to call another incompetent girl over who allegedly reversed the charge. I said- I don't think it worked, you definitely charged me twice, to which she replied "Oh, no, it'll be fine. " Highly skeptical, I left and checked my account the next morning and sure enough, there were two $64 charges on my card. I called that morning and spoke to yet another incompetent person who apologized and said she saw the double charged and reversed it. I waited a week and checked my account again...the money was not refunded, so I called YET AGAIN and was told the same line of bullshit "We're so sorry, we fixed it, it won't happen again" Flash forward to now- busy summer, work, kids, vacations...I checked my account and the money still has not been refunded. I'm livid at this point. Do not go to Miniluxe. They are staffed by a confederacy of dunces, do a crappy job and are over priced...like double over-priced. I'm going down there at this point, and they will definitely wish I hadn't when i'm done tearing someone a new one. read more

I just moved to the area and live a stone's throw from this location in lexington. Upon my first few visits, I felt some of the nail technicians were very good and I was a bit excited about my new found "spot." However, trying to call in and make an appointment has to be one of the worst events, that's right, event! I have to call two or three times and sometimes do not even get through. Not to mention they charge for Gel removal, whether you get gel put back on or not. Try doing this in NYC or LA and you will not have a business. After making an appointment online for Gel removal/gel manicure and arriving at my appointment time, I was "turned away" because they only had 45 mins and had a client right after me. They offered to take my Gel off but they were unable to put gel back on. MiniLuxe has great colors and great products, unfortunately, it is not a place I would really like to return. Tip for efficient service: there is an Organic Nail Spa right around the corner, they will take you right in and answer the phone. MiniLuxe acts like they couldn't be bothered with trying to "squeeze" you in. Around the corner - they're accommodating and welcoming from the top, down. read more

3 Lady Yelper walked into to MiniLuxe for our lady's night mani & pedi's..... We were immediately greeted by the front desk, checked into our appointment and off to select our polish. OOhhh aahh-- huge selection of pretty colors and great brands all neatly organized. The seating for the pedi area was super clean, had great lighting and a variety of gossip magazines to choose from. The tools for both mani & pedi were super clean and came in individually sterilized packages--BIG plus in my book! The process was about 30-45 mins. for each which allowed you to enjoy the experience of being a little pampered. They use earth friendly & organic products which is another plus! My tootsies loved the pedi and my fingers are thrilled with their newly polished nails! Overall a lovely experience and I will be back for sure! read more

My daughter and her cousin came here for a special Holiday pampering session the Saturday before Christmas. Both girls are pre-teen and very well mannered. A mani-pedi is a special treat for them and not a regular occurrence. My daughter told me that while her cousin had a very kind and friendly nail technician, my daughter was not as lucky. Her tech constantly reprimanded her for not moving her hands or feet at the proper time (as I mentioned, this is not a regular thing for my child) and when my daughter tried to engage in small talk, the woman only replied with snarky comments. My daughter told me that she felt that the technicians were speaking about the girls and at one point, the other "Nicer" tech said to my daughter's tech "don't be jealous." Perhaps she thought that these were two entitled tweens getting their weekly mani/pedi? And what if they were? They are keeping your salon open and paying your wages. I could understand the rudeness if the girls were rude, but these are two sweet girls who had been looking forward to this day for weeks. Sadly, thanks to a rude technician it was ruined. read more

The thought of popping over to the grubby nail salons along Mass Ave during my lunch break makes my hair curl after experiencing the level of OCD cleanliness that encompasses a mani/pedi as MiniLuxe. Shannon is my go-to girl. She's great fun to chat with if you're feeling social and if you want to read a book she completely understands. Bonus points to Shannon for giving the most gentle brow wax I've ever had. Double bonus for the "Lemon-aide" lotion. I can't get enough of the fresh, sexy, summery scent. I popped in here today with my cousin to treat her for her birthday. She goes here all the time and she is pretty picky, so I knew it would be a good experience. The first thing I noticed was the place is super clean and "sterile" but in a good way. I love the display of nail colors they have out front and the rubber bands that tell you which ones are for mani/pedi are a nice touch. The receptionist was super friendly and even though it was my first time, she did not treat me like a moron. I mentioned when I called that it was my cousin's birthday and she registered that information. When my cuz was getting her pedicure, they gave her a "cupcake" soak that you plopped into your bath for a nice scent and extra fizzies. Very Sweet! I also noticed that the tools came out of a new, sterile pouch. This is very comforting since I have a Sister-In-Law who got Hep. C from a nail place a few years back. The other part I liked was how relaxed they made you feel and that they are in no rush to have you leave (some places I have gone to give you the bums rush). I would have totally gotten the extra neck and shoulder massage, but I had to pick up my kids so I had to forgo it. Next time! read more

Just visited here for the first time this afternoon. I was given a MiniLuxe giftcard by a local Lexington Business. Unfortunately, I have acryllics so I couldn't get a mani/pedi, so I opted for the Signature Pedicure. The space is super convenient, though I advise you to allow for 15 minutes to find parking in downtown Lexington, especially on a nice day like today! Inside, all of the technicians and staff is extremely nice, and the layout (as many other yelpers have said) is extremely clean, no chemical smell, and I love their manicure and dry bar (instead of individual stations)! They also have an AWESOME selection of OPI, Essie, and Zora nail polishes,... even these baby bottles for $4 @ the register. They have colors that I haven't seen ANYWHERE ELSE (so of course, I had to buy one). I waited about 5 minutes for them to bring me over to the pedicure stations, so I browsed their "boutique"... all very nice products to buy that compliment their busienss - nail polishes, top of the line sunless tanner, lotions, candles, and even their own BRANDED FLIP-FLOPS and Haviannas (in case you forget your own). Great little shopping spot too! Donna welcomed me, asked if the water temp was ok... and yes I was sitting in a non-massage chair, but it didn't matter (they offer $12 neck and upper back massage after your nail service!)... She pulled out fresh adhesive foot scrub stickers that attach to her tool (so they don't use the same pumus stone on ANYONE!) - Nice touch! After cleaning up my toes, she started scrubbing my feet, but only after I mentioned how TICKLISH my feet are. She highly recommended the CALOUS REMOVER (additional treatment) that would make the experience more relaxing for me. I took her up on it and I'm SO GLAD! Good recommendation, Donna! I will also say that one of the BEST THINGS ABOUT MINILUXE is all of the women speak english and talk only to their customer or other customers. We had a great conversation (the group of technicians and women that were getting pedicures - although some women chose not to chat as I'm sure they wanted a quiet experience). I came in and this place is obviously brand new. The colors are O.P.A.L (I think that is the brand at least) I get my toes done a lot in the summer, but winter hides them most of the season in this lovely Boston cold. In addition I have a bruised toe and a big blister that is now better thanks to Mimi at MiniLuxe. I like hot water which they had ready in their pedi area, but damn this was so hot I asked for a little cooler water...not a negative in my book =) All the tools are super clean. They come in packets like drs offices and dont even get used on your hands (AWESOME). I asked what's the deal about "being green" and they said they dont use any chemicals...then it hit me...NO harsh acrylic smell when I came in b/c they dont have it here. (AWESOME) The final plus for me was that they to Brazilians. I will update after Tuesday. Oh You may be thinking she yelled awesome twice and only gave 4 stars. Well this place is in the middle of Lexington and kinda expensive. Don't try to walk in - they will not be able to help you. Several people have told me that they took walk in clients - evidently that information was not true. Friends of mine who live closer are fans - I guess I won't be able to prove them correct or incorrect. It seemed like a nice enough space, but small and unaccommodating without an appointment. I don't live very close to this location, so I don't really have any reason to return - I trekked over there because it seemed to have good reviews. It was a waste of time and fuel. As others have said, parking on the street was not plentiful - so, I guess if you DO live close by and DO have an appointment - get there early to find a spot. You won't have that nauseating feeling here that I think most people get the second they walk into a salon, because that awful, horrible chemical smell that most nail salons have doesn't exist here since they don't use any chemicals at all! Yup ladies, that means if you want acrylic nails, ya gotta go somewhere else. This spot in lexington bragged maybe 6 times while I was there about only using natural and organic supplies everywhere in their salon, so just like whole foods, I think that's why this place is a bit pricier than your average nail salon. But I mean we all go to whole foods sometimes, right?? Well I think I love food more than toe nail polish so I'll spend my money there instead This place it nice inside--everything is brand new, the people are pretty nice, but why three stars you say?? Well honestly even a special for $35 for a mani and pedi is pretty up there and my mani as usual still didn't last that long..... :-( On a grad student stipend this isn't a place that I could go to all the time, yet alone drive to all the time. And the other thing that I didn't like....NO MASSAGERS in the foot bath or the chair!! Maybe I was spoiled in CA, but I have never been to a place that gives pedicures that doesn't have some sort of build in massage/jet type thing to keep me comfy and happy. If I am paying for luxury, I want luxury heh. I tried out MiniLuxe in Lexington after I purchased one of those boston.com deals of day for a warm oil mani/pedi for $35. I was able to get an appointment (you can call or book online, which I like a lot!). It seems small but it packs a lot into the space, with at least 4 or 5 pedicure stations, a back room for waxing which looked pretty standard, and 5 or 6 manicure stations, set up almost like a bar, and a great selection of polish. The seats were comfortable (no massage chairs, but I was still very comfy). And it looked very clean all around, including the instruments used. Bryanna did my mani/pedi and she was great. Easy to talk to (and I'm not much of a talker when I'm at salons) and she knew her stuff, even coming out before to help me choose colors. I'm going back today for a mani before NYE. Price wise, they are more expensive than what I'm used to however, I can tell I'm paying for better sterilization of tools and a better experience overall. I think its $18 for a basic manicure. I definitely don't mind paying that once in awhile. read more

Mani's and pedi's, one of a the great things that makes being a girl great. MiniLuxe is the nicest nail salon I've been to. Upon entering the salon you are greeted by the Great Wall of Opi and Essie nail polishes neatly organized by color. Their attention to detail from the organization of the nail polish bottles alone lets you know they mean business when it comes to cleanliness. White gleaming tables and accents continue that clean and refreshing feel. The technicians carefully paint each nail using sanitized tools. All their equipment come pre-packaged and sanitized so you're not questioning whether they were used on another customer prior to you. They have several locations including one in Boston, but the Lexington store is great for those that don't want to head into town and look for parking. read more

And I never have had problems before). The nail tech was great - patient ( trying to get the gel off) and did a great job. The chairs at the manicure station were very uncomfortable.
