The salon appeared very clean, so I have no complaints in that regard. However, I was disappointed with my gel pedicure. The service felt very rushed, especially considering it was $70 before tip. I actually timed the leg massage because it seemed so short. My left leg was massaged for just 47 seconds, and my right leg for about 1 minute. For the price, I expected a much more relaxing and thorough experience. For the price you pay it's a luxury service you should be getting pampered and Atleast 3 minutes per leg for a massage. Another issue was that the water was extremely hot. I asked multiple times for it to be made cooler, but it was only adjusted briefly before getting hot again. Eventually, I had to turn it down myself while the technician laughed and continued talking. I will say, though my pedicure did come out great. read more

I wish I could say I had a good experience, but I did not. Two of my friends and I went with appointments schedules, two for powder manicures with extensions and one for a regular gel manicure. The first issue started when the lady doing my nails got too hot at the manicure station and had me sit in one of the pedicure stations, not too big of a deal just a bit annoying. The next issue came when I reminded the lady my appointment was for extensions, but she couldn't do them. They claimed that we didn't make the appointment for powder with extensions, even though it was no problem for my friend who was under the exact same thing as me. I then had to wait for someone who knew how to do extensions which took some time. Everything was smooth sailing until the end while my nails were curing and she messed up the top coat twice, thankfully I wasn't in a rush but it added a lot of time. I was also cut twice and my finger did not stop bleeding for two hours. Another issue I had was I was charged $85, while my friend who, once again, got the exact same thing, was charged $75. There are plenty of better and cheaper nail salons in Boston and the surrounding area... I will not be going here again. read more

I expected more from Boston nails: Fairly new customer w/an appointment: walking in, no greetings "pick a color", wait, WHAT? I waited 20mins before sitting, another 10mins before starting. Overbooking during busy time. No one understands English except Mgr (who is too busy for time of day); there is a huge communication problem. This is not a place of happiness. Energy is low, unfriendly and I question if anyone likes their job. I was disappointed with the end result of my nails. Excessive filing hurt, causing me to pull away from the burning sensation. Irregular parts of my nails were very thick, others thin. Shape and length not consistent on both hands After 3 visits of fairness, I will not return to Boston Nails in Lexington. read more

This is an alright nail salon. They do offer gel x which is why i went to them. The salon was very disorganized which doesn't look clean or sanitary. The nail tech was also on her phone the whole time distracted. Kinda weird they make you hold the flashlight for gel x. You know they make a light that is way more simple than having to have your client hold the flashlight for every nail. My long stiletto nails did come out pretty nice so that is why they got 3 stars. read more

Horrible, went to take off acrylic gel nails , the guy the took me , soaked my nails in acetone to the point of agonizing pain. While he took care of other people- checked in with me every 15 minutes ( I was soaking for the better part of 40 minutes. The owner saw me in pain did nothing to assist) I told him I was in pain , he kept saying a few more minutes. I will never go back!!! read more

So I loved my first pedicure with Tanya and so needed one today. I called and was able t9 get an appointment but I didn't specify who I wanted it with. Tanya was booked and I had a male technician. First of all let me say the staff is so nice and this tech was nice but I don't like males giving me a pedicure. It a personal preference. I wasn't happy with the pedicure today . The massage wasn't long enough and his nails kept digging into my skin. Also when he filed my toenails it hurt ,he caught my skin. I was desperate as I'm traveling at the end of the week. After hearing so many positive exclamations from my friend who comes here regularly, I took her up on the offer to go for an appt to pamper myself. I got just that-- a fabulous pedicure. We called ahead on a Saturday afternoon and scheduled for 5pm. It was mostly empty, and pleasantly quiet. We chose our colors for nail polish and we were off! Jennifer worked with me, and she was great. Very clean, and very relaxing. A really delightful experience. I absolutely enjoyed myself, and will most definitely come back for another pedicure, and try the manicure. Despite accepting credit cards, they only accept cash tips--which is good to keep in mind. read more

Shocked that this place doesn't have more stars! I'm writing this after a particularly good customer service experience. I have been here 3 times now for mani/ pedis after my mom's friend recommended it and I won't go anywhere else (I drive from Somerville, MA to come to this place). Manicures and pedicures always look glossy and smooth and last longer than other places. Leg massages are pretty good, nothing out of the ordinary, just exfoliator, muscle massage, warm towel, etc. They always take time to do a good foot scrub to get all dead and dry skin off from feet (and under nails). My one tip would be to bring your own nail polish as their selection is decent, but not huge. They have mostly OPI colors, and less of Essie. Rated this inexpensive because I think $39 for both mani and pedi is pretty good compared to other places! Also wrote "accepts credit cards" but they request cash for the tip. read more

2 bad experiences in a row. The last time I was there they forgot the top coat on my gel manicure on 1 finger & I had to drive back to have it fixed. Today, I showed up for an appt I made in advance & they told me I had called back & cancelled. Not true. I did not call & cancel the appt I made. I scheduled my day around the appt and I have very limited time. A disappointment. I will mostly likely not go back. I always call in advance & make an appointment & I always tip generously. It sounded like people didn't show up or were out, they could have said that when I called to make the appt instead of lying & telling me I cancelled the appt I made. They could have said "we can't fit you in", or called me to cancel before I drove there. Just overall disappointed in this business. I used to go often. (If you get a gel manicure, the man that works here will make at least 1 nail too thick & it will come off within a couple of days, not great if you're going out of town) read more

The first time I came here they made me wait 1 hour (although I made an appointment) for a dip powder manicure that took 30 minutes. Not even a day later my nail broke from me simply touching my hair. So, the following day I return to the nail salon and they make me wait another hour to fix ONE nail. I came here to get my nails done in April. I went with my friend. I got a ManiPedi and my friend got a Pedicure. The ladies doing my nails were nice. Then they proceeded to get someone to do my friends nails. This man had to do her toenails. She was very curious about gel and how the pricing was different so she asked him. The ladies explained to her instead and then the man got confused. He was doing gel on her and she noticed and said something. She politely asked if she could have regular nails because thats what she said she wanted. The man got so angry lol you could just tell he was mad. The two nice ladies told him to change it though. They were all clearly talking about us in their language and it was so awkward. My friend felt bad and said it was fine and paid for it. I would go back but not with him. read more

This salon is right on Boylston St. across from the Boston Public Library. Its a very nice salon with great staff. They were extremely friendly and my nail tech offered me a beverage. The salon was very clean which is always the most important thing to me when I go to any salon. The pedicure chairs were massage chairs, so free massage! :) Absolutely love my finished gel color. I have lived in NYC and Chicago before Lexington so I am pretty particular but I have been consistently pleased with the manicures (I started doing acrylic and now do gels) and pedicures. I was quite excited to find this place a couple of months ago: nearby for me, friendly service, reasonable prices... until this evening. I called in the afternoon and asked for an appointment, however, the staff person I like the best was not available, but I decided to go anyway.. Big mistake.. although I knew already that the service is dependent on the person providing it at this place, I should not have risked it. My pedicure was fine, but for some reason, I was rushed to get the manicure while having the pedicure done (definitely not comfortable or a relaxing experience). My manicure turned out to be terrible. My nails were filed to be quite short that they now look like I have eaten them because the more delicate skin shows and looks red. I did not walk in there with very short nails, but they hurt now. Secondly, they are not shaped/ filed straight. They are all sloped down to the right side, making the right edges longer and sharper. They do not feel smooth either.. When I said that they do not look straight, the person started to file my nails even shorter with the same non-straight line that I had to stop her saying that it hurts and it is not helping.. She could not see it ..When I came home and showed it to my husband, he was able to see it right away..Also, the polish did not have a very straight line up top either.. Overall, a very amateur job, quite worse than I do at home myself.. And as a result, I ended up with nails that look worse than they were when I walked into the salon . Plus, I feel uncomfortable now with the length..Unfortunately, I have an event to attend tomorrow, and I will need to do something about it now.. maybe fake nails are the way to go for this event, but I will stop at another place for sure.. On top of everything, what was worse for me was the way they cared about it.. When I showed my hands to the manager and explained my dissatisfaction while paying for the service at the end, all I got was a "sorry". I did not mind paying the full amount but at least I expected them to try to correct it right away and let me go as a happy customer as opposed to an unhappy one. Instead, I was told that if I stop by tomorrow, someone else can take care of it.. that's all?? of course, I am not going to stop by tomorrow, I do not even want to risk getting even shorter nails at this point, not that i have time for it. GET YOUR EYEBROWS WAXED ELSEWHERE. In a nutshell, the above says it all. Last week, I stopped by Boston Nail & Spa because I was shopping in the area. I'm new to the Lexington/Concord area, and thought - "What the heck? I'll stop in and see if they can wax my eyebrows." As others here have mentioned, the people who work there are for the most part, very nice. They get 4 stars for their friendliness. When I arrived, they were booked solid but asked me to come back in a half hour, which I was happy to do. When I came back, they were very friendly and took me right back to do the waxing. The waxing area, partitioned by a curtain, looked clean though kind of dated. (You're definitely not coming here for a deluxe spa treatment.) Over the years, I've had my eyebrows plucked, waxed, and even threaded. I've endured a multiple number of eyebrow type treatments. However, this ranks among the most painful. I don't think that my skin is over-sensitive (since I've never had trouble with wax before). However, when the girl waxed my eyebrows, the wax took off a piece of skin below my left eyebrow when she pulled off the wax strip. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the skin had actually come off until I got home and looked in the mirror because I was wondering why that area seemed so painful. (Three days later, with the help of some Neosporin, it's healing and scabbed over.) In addition, once the girl was done waxing my eyebrows, she did some type of accupuncture-type thing that was just extremely painful. She pushed on my temples super hard with her fingers until I thought I might die. Perhaps this was draw my attention away from the skin that had been ripped off? Anyway . . . yikes. It was pretty cheap - $10 for an eyebrow wax. However, I think I will continue looking in the area for someone who won't rip the skin off. Initially, I had considered coming back here for a pedicure. But after reading all of the reviews on here combined with my own experience, I think I'll go elsewhere. read more

I got jabbed during a pedicure and it became infected. Then I stupidly tried them again a year later, and even though I asked for no cutting, she cut so much off of my cuticle, that she got a strip of skin and I got another infection. If you go there, ask to see the individual manicurist's license. It would be interesting to know if the individuals there actually have licenses. (The salon does have a license) read more

Your experience really does depend on the person doing your nails. However, the lady that did my nails was not a professional what so ever!! I could have done my nails myself and have it look better. She missed every single edge/corner of my nails on both sides!!! I had to keep on telling her to correct it for each nail. I knew it was not going to be a good experience when both her hands were shaking putting on the base coat!! I have gone to many nail salons and this was probably the worst. I can deal with idiots cutting and jabbing into my cuticles unti lthey bleed, but not when my nails look like a 5 yr old painted them.
