Everything looked fantastic, smelled amazing, and the ingredients tasted fresh. The pizza with the fresh mozzarella, basil, prosciutto, tomatoes, and balsamic glaze looked especially impressive. That said, while the food was definitely good, it didn't quite live up to how great it looked and smelled. Nothing was bad by any means, I enjoyed my meal, but the flavors didn't stand out enough to make it memorable. I'd rate the food around a 3.5 to 3.75 out of 5. There are frequent things that make me hesitate to purchase, such as a recent fish dish that was heavily overdone with capers to the point it felt unbalanced. That said, I do still come in occasionally because they carry some hard-to-find items. I've found excellent coffee here, and I've enjoyed their crab cakes. Customer service has also been very mixed. I had a particularly unpleasant experience with a cashier who had a poor attitude when I was overcharged for an item that was marked differently on the shelf than what I was charged. I went back to show the original price tag, even retrieving the torn portion to demonstrate it matched. Despite this, I was treated as if I might be trying to manipulate the price over a difference of about two dollars. There was no apology, just a dismissive and rude demeanor. The correction was eventually made, but it was handled awkwardly, and I was handed multiple receipts while my original receipt for other purchases was not returned. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, not because of the pricing issue itself, but because of how it was handled. Overall, I still stop in for a few specialty items, but my confidence in consistency and customer service has definitely been affected. The ambiance of the store is nice. The parking lot it can often be a nightmare.
