I've had this placed save for when I work nearby. I was in the area today so I tried it out. Super hole in the wall and inconspicuous. I was shocked at the prices when I looked at the menu. VERY inexpensive for these times. Since it was so cheap I wanted to try a few different things. I got a cheese quesadilla, 1 chicken taco, 1 beef taco and 1 bean and cheese burrito. The quesadilla was great! So yummy and cheesy. It was quite little though. I LOVED the crunchiness of the tacos and the cheese they put on them. The chicken was decent but the beef was kind of weird to me. I was expecting shredded beef; it was ground beef (kind of like little morsels) but also mushy ? Like it was mixed with something else. I didn't really care for it. The bean and cheese burrito was LARGE and only $4.50! It was good but could use a little bit of salt and/or salsa. I did get some salsa but I didn't like it - it was watery and tasted like tomato juice. I will return but try different items next time. You can't beat the prices! Oh also, it's cash only. read more

Got the 2 Beef Tacos (switched one to chicken), Rice and Beans Combination ($8.25) and a Carne Asada Burrito ($7.95). Every thing tasted really good. The tacos were crispy. The rice was flavorful. The refried beans were of medium consistency. The burrito was packed. The salsa was more like a sauce. It actually had some heat that sneaks up on you. Service was very friendly and prompt. EH is located across the street from Superior Grocers. There is no formal parking lot. I went on a Saturday afternoon and had no issues finding street parking. read more

It had been about 10+ years since I last visited this place. First started going back in the 80's. Same specials are there from them, but obviously different prices (I'll post pics I took of the menu my last visit). I got a carne asada burrito. The taste of the rice and beans and carne asada were more on the light side as far as being seasoned or flavored. Not likely I would personally order that one again, but I did order the taco and bean and cheese with drink special and I got to say that the tacos tasted just as great as they did before. I would definitely order them again. I usually take much away from a place when I order a bean and cheese burrito because I believe the beans say a lot about the place cause beans are often is in many different items. This place is so nostalgic for me. I used to come here with friends after school or on the weekend and grab potato tacos. They were bomb then, and they still are now. And to be honest, I never tried any of their other menu items until recently. I had told my daughter how good the tacos were and she tried them for the first time and love the potato tacos. I also tried their chicken taco, which I had never done so in the past, and it was absolutely delicious. This place is cash only so have your money ready. A San Pedro GEM! This place is small and looks like a hole in the wall but the food is delicious! The service is fast and they only take cash.. conveniently there is an atm right by the ordering window if you forgot to pull money out. Been a few years since we stopped by so we decided to come in on a Saturday just about an hour before closing. My husband had the red beef plate and I had the chili verde. Although the prices are very reasonable the portions are small. My chile wasn't so great as I remember, and my husband didn't really enjoy the red beef because he ended up getting sick to his stomach the next day. Maybe what they gave us was the bottom of the barrel because especially the beef look like it had been shredded down to pieces from one time that would have been chunks but now the bottom of the barrel shreds. Not sure but I believe that if it wasn't their usual and customary quality that they should not have put it out. We did not get tortillas with our meals either. Not sure if I really want to go back here again but if I did maybe at a different time of day not sure still not sure. read more

It's not much to look at, it's small, and a bit run down, but it has great food, inexpensive, and has an A rating. If you haven't been you should definitely give it a shot. read more

The food can't be beat for a fast food alternative. This is one of the best Mexican food around South Bay. May I suggest their burritos of type; tastes absolutely delicious. They have been a well-known staple in that part of San Pedro for many years. Their service is fast and reliable. I use to go to the Enchilada house often, haven't been for some time , and probably will never go back. The food just is not what it used to be to be. I ordered plain beef tacos and a beef wet burrito, rice and horchata. The tacos were mixed with potato and the wet burrito was filled with dry crane asada, but the sauce was red with a couple of beef chunks. The beef chunks use to be inside the burrito. No salsa either. Terribly disappointed. I called and told them everything. They raised prices and appear to be skimpy of the product. Sad. I never post on yelp but had to tonight. read more

I've been going to this place since I was born, I'm now 38 years old. IT'S MY ALL TIME FAVORITE PLACE ON EARTH. I moved away from San Pedro when I was 10 years old, but that never stopped me from going to back living in San Diego, CA. I made special trips/4 hour drive sometimes to just come eat here. I am Now living in Arizona, and I will be making a trip to Disneyland, but also a trip to The Enchilada House. The red chile quesadillas and the green chile burrito are literally to die for!
