Located on the corner of 8th Street and Pacific Ave. Parking lot available in the back of the building but you can also park on the street. Went there for the quesabirria tacos cuz I thought they were goat. Oh I was so disappointed lol. I was told they don't do the goat quesabirria tacos cuz the goat has bone in it. So instead, I got the beef ones. A bit pricey but the food was really good. The service was also good. Took about 10-15 mins for my order. Everything was nice and hot. I didn't care for the consome. It had no flavor to it. It tasted more oily than anything. However, I do like the portion size. The tacos were also bigger than what I'm used to. read more

It took me a while to get used to the hole-in-the-wall Mexican food scene that is so common here. I popped into tacos Jalisco and ordered up Carne Asada and Carnitas tacos. I was visiting a local auto repair shop. Rather than sit in their waiting room, I asked the workers to suggest a place to eat. "Tacos Jalisco #2" was suggested. (The guys work in the neighborhood, so they should know.) Tacos Jalisco is a "shoebox" shop. There is the front entrance; the middle section of the floorplan is a small dining room; and the kitchen is in the back. There aren't any windows, so the shop is a bit dark. Things are "a bit faded", but the restaurant is neat and tidy. (The health department placard has a grade "B". But I think this reflects more on the age of the building, and less on the willingness of the staff to keep the place clean.) I ordered three carnitas tacos and a large soda to go. The tacos were set on a Styrofoam tray, which was then covered with foil. A baggie of lemon wedges and radish slices was also provided. The carnitas were tender. The tacos were assembled well; the serving of meat, per taco, was generous. If I have any criticism, the meat could have used a pinch more salt. I won't engage in grade inflation, so I'll give this visit (and the food) a solid 3-stars. However, as I left the area and observed my surroundings, I suspect that Tacos Jaliscos is probably the best food option on this stretch on Pacific Avenue. read more

They definitely deliver on delicious tacos and burritos every time. My personal choice is the Tacos Dorados de Papa or the Chile Relleno. The food here is to die for. I usually come in 1-2 a month. My Spanish isn't that great but I try, just as the cashier tried with English lol. My go-to is the tacos. Any at that matter. I LOVE this place. It has a B rating, but they're working up to the A. Their wet burrito is a 10/10. One caveat is that they charge $1 extra for debit or credit cards which is illegal in California. How many $1000's extra do places like these make by charging illegal fees and gouging each customer for no reason? There's also no public restroom. read more

My buddies and I like munchin on tacos ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We're from PVE and wanted to find more spots in Pedro to frequent. We stumbled across this joint after scanning Apple Maps for food one night and Tacos Jalisco has a high rating on yelp so we unanimously agreed we had to try it. First off, place is open late which is awesome. Secondly, cashiers are super nice and they take Apple Pay which is clutch. The picture is of the Al Pastor (marinated pork) Burrito, a Pescado (fish, for my strictly English friends) Taco, and a Horchata. Stuff was all gas. Fish taco went CRAZY, in the top 5 I've ever had. The Al Pastor burrito was super delicious but never on the Lords green earth have I eaten a burrito so spicy. My colon was on it's last limb the next day, for real. Horchata was yummy and from a machine I think. My buddies got the Chicharron tacos and sang nothing but praise. For a fair price we were full of good food and that's lovely. We have been back multiple times since then and each time the food is great and the service is nice. I'm sure there are many future visits to Tacos Jalisco but next time I'm bringing a bottle of Pepto Bismol and taking a rest day after. read more

I stopped in the other day to buy some carnitas. I only wanted the meat, not in a taco or a burrito. I meal prep 95% of the time, especially for the next few months, so I have to make sure my protein game is on point to reach my goals. It was still early when I arrived after the gym and I was starving! I was so glad this place was open, because many other local Mexican restaurants didn't open until at least 11am. I planned to just take the meat home and dump it on top of some lettuce, adding some lime to it. The girl at the front counter and the cook both greeted me. I ordered carnitas meat only, but the girl didn't quite understand what I meant. She said she'd never had anyone order it that way, before. We laughed and I apologized and explained again what I wanted. She went and dished some meat to show me what it looked like. I told her that I already knew (carnitas is my favorite!!), but that I just wanted meat only. To make it easier to charge me, she asked how much I wanted and I told her enough for 3 tacos. So she charged me for 3 tacos and I paid around $4 and she packed my order. I went home and made myself a plate and while it was okay, it wasn't the best that I'd had. It was really greasy and kind of red in color from whatever seasonings they use. I'd never had "red" carnitas. It tasted okay, but like I said, it wasn't the best. This location is lacking. There are two of these in San Pedro and I wouldn't recommend coming to this one. This location doesn't offer chips and charges for credit cards. The lady who works here isn't friendly and the restroom is always "broken." There's no Taco Tuesday and the food isn't better or worse than the location on Gaffey. I would skip this one and go to the one on Gaffey. The food at both locations are slightly above average. The potato tacos are pretty good but I don't think they offer it here. I would continue to go to Tacos Jalisco but not here. read more

My memories of Tacos Jalisco go way back to the 90s when I was just a kid and they had a truck out on Pacific and 11th, outside of American Furniture and the small hardware store - True Value. They hold a special place in my heart. I have never been so satisfied by any other street taco like I have from these carne asada tacos. They also have huge, overwhelming portions of carne asada quesadillas which I also love. If you're not already overwhelmingly full after your entree, they have some of the best most authentic tasting flan I've had. They don't make it, but I'm not complaining. The only two downsides are that this neighborhood may be scary at night for some, I personally always get it to go. Also -- they take phone orders if you don't feel like waiting. The other negative -- no cerveza!! There's something special about greasy street tacos and an icy cold Modelo. Take these home to pair with your favorite Mexican beer. Yummmmy! read more

Stopped in after searching Yelp for a nearby place to eat while in San Pedro. The food was good but the cleanliness of the restaurant needs some attention.The menus absolutely need to be cleaned. Super yucky!! The salsa bar also could use some TLC. Another thing to work on is definitely the customer service. The young lady at the register clearly had no experience or very little of it when it came to some questions we had about menu. They weren't trivia questions so they weren't meant to stump her but to gain some insight on ingredients used for some of the food served.
