I used to like this place a lot more because I could get gluten free cakes however the last few times I've been there on Sundays they didn't have anything for sale. This place does not have good service. Staff need customer service training. Not a good vibe between staff members. We waited at the counter standing in front of two staff who were counting the drawer - didn't say hi or acknowledge us, or take our order for about five minutes. They seemed like we were inconveniencing them. Then we place our order and only one of the plates we order arrives. The barista asks if I am waiting for something else to which I tell him I am still waiting for my salmon bagel, and he says "well the cashiers left and didn't tell me so I have to call them to check". What?!?! I asked him if he was serious and he said "I'm serious". Finally after all is sorted out the food is of really poor quality - microwaved poached eggs (!) one egg runny and uncooked and one completely over cooked, and a sub-par bagel. The coffee is good. The decor is nice. But the service and vibe is lacking. I will not be coming back unless I am desperate - better to walk a few extra blocks and go to Lenox Coffee and get good service! Finally a nice indie coffee spot in the neighborhood! This is my go-to spot for my morning java fix. The staff is friendly, the background music is awesome, the coffee is strong, the prices are reasonable, and the decor is welcoming. They also are community oriented- there's a board in their coffee shop with local events, listings, business cards, etc. I wish they had more seating because it's becoming a popular spot already after only recently opening! But I just moved to the neighborhood and I feel like this will be my favorite place for a long time. read more

Went there today for the first time and it looms great from the outside but from the inside left little to be desired. It's as if it started out like a coffee place but just stopped half way. 1. With only 2 simple coffee orders in front of us, took us 15 minutes to get two matcha lattes. A bit too long of just waiting. And the staff kept going to the back room and working in the sink and working on the counter making coffee.. 2. The prices for the food wasn't displayed. I'm not cheap but I like to know how much a quiche costs. 3. The food selection was ok, but I felt it was just running out of food and not replenished or that was it... what you see little of is what you get. And then in the side there were chips on a shelf but it wasn't filled. When something g is displayed in scarcity doesn't look inviting. 4. A big splinter of wood was found in our drink and chunks of green powdery matcha that didn't disssolve. The wood mind you wasn't a part of the wooden swizzle stick, we suspect the dark piece of wood was from the blending contraption that comes with matcha. 5. A wobbly table that sits 3 people that is by the bathroom door. You would think at the end of the day when it's wiped down the staff would notice it was wobbly. With all the other tables taken up it wasn't that you could add a sugar pack to the bottom, the metal base and wooden table top was wobbly. Almost spilled 2 matcha lattes and a tea! 6. The configuration of the cafe is a bit awkward, hence the feeling like its half way. The large table at the back is huge but if you and a friend sat across from each other it's too far away. It's good for people working on laptops. Only smaller tables can suit conversation and the awkward large round table in front.... waste of space in such a tiny area. 7. Free WiFi laptop workers. Saw a power cable plugged into the wall across a path way with customer traffic. One girl almost tripped over it. Hey have a gift shop display seeking coffee mugs etc. looked awkward, no prices etc 8 . Laminated price list. I observed people comming in and expecting the price list to be up on the wall. And a gentleman staff said 'yeah everyone expects the menu to be there but here it is. Hmmm. If that is the automatic visceral response from people why not put the menu up there. I mean your own staff said so. I would recommend it if you are in the area, and need to work and get free WiFi, it's worth it if you get the non wobbly table by the window next to the power outlet. I really wanted to like this place, really I do. I wanted to much to support Harlem coffee places and not starbucks. But when I have to pay 75 cents extra for ice and there lemon juice is added to my tea when I want a slice of lemon. Maybe starbucks might be a better options. read more

Wonderful local spot. This coffee shop always has warm employees ready to greet you when you walk in. Their cold brew is the only coffee I have tried here and it is really delicious. It doesn't taste to watered down, it is rich and especially delicious with oat milk. There is plenty of space in the back of the shop to do work if you are looking for a place to set up shop. I would call this my COVID-19 reviewbecause you can't sit down inside. They have one table outside. Most importantly the ice latte/espresso was absolutely delicious. Hope to come back when either they have more seats outside and or they're open inside post Covid. read more

i live in seattle but came to nyc to do some covid volunteer work at the harlem hospital. proof coffee was on my walk to work, and i stopped here every morning for a cold brew. damian and lina are some of the kindest people i have ever met. when damian found out that i was doing medical volunteer work, he immediately offered to donate coffee to the hospital staff. given that the coffee shop business is significantly decreased because of the shelter at home orders, i thought this was extremely generous and very, very kind (plus the coffee made a ton of resident doctors super happy!). also, in my short time here, i saw many people come to this coffee shop every day... proof really fosters an amazing sense of community and they are very clearly devoted to this neighborhood. thank you for giving me such a great start to every day, damian and lina! read more

Here is what I know...ACP has great coffee and is a wonderful place. I love going there to do work and have some delicious Italian toast or a fresh, strong cuppa whatever. What I don't love is being belittled and condescended by their employees. There is only one man that I've seen working there: glasses, hat, tattoos, plump. Not only has he never been kind or accommodating but he has personally and publicly offended me, so much so that I feel compelled to write this review. I've seen him be pleasant and fake when his boss is in, but I now am truly aware of how fickle his performance is. I love this place but I will NOT be going back when that person is behind the bar out of fear of what attitude or aggression I'll get next. For the most part I have NEVER had a problem with the staff, but this man has ALWAYS rubbed me as well as my roommates and my neighbors. After leaving and being very irked by his words on my way out, I ran into someone who lives two buildings down and vented. THEY identified this employee as "the sassy jerk"... so I can't be the only one. This is a goldmine of a place, but I am thoroughly disappointed. read more

This place is AMAZING! Whether you live within walking distance or are just travelling through the area, it is the perfect stop for a great cup of coffee and friendly atmosphere. The macadamia latte is to die for. The coffee is smooth but bold. After travelling across country with 3 kids, this was the perfect stop to warm me up, have a wonderful conversation with the barista, and feel right at home. This is a great place to come if you like paying $4.75 for a plain piece of toast with butter and $3.75 for a regular drip coffee, making your total for buttered toast and coffee right around $10. It's beyond obnoxious. Half the time their wifi doesn't work, you'll get 20 minutes and then it stops working completely. But you only discover this after ordering their $27 avocado toast only to have to pack up and leave and find another place to go work. Most of their baristas are friendly, the ones who aren't act like they're being asked to perform open heart surgery when you order a coffee and look like life is over when they hand it to you. They need reevaluate their prices. Buttered toast and a coffee should never be $10 unless I'm in an airport or the royal palace. read more

Love this place so much! When I first saw the sign going up I got very excited a good quality coffee place other than Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts was joining the area. This place has good quality coffee and the service is exceptional. The two ladies always greet me with a warm smile. It's a cute and cozy little place with enough seats/tables to sit for a quick chat or to get some work done. There's are food options such as pastries, soups, sandwiches, and healthy treats.They even have a skin care line there made by one of the girls that work there! So glad to live close by. read more

The first time we came here on a Sunday, we ordered two iced chai lattes and two almond croissants. The female barista was kind and attentive, the food good though improperly warmed up (though possibly due to faulty ovens). The second time was on a Tuesday and it was a disaster. First, they had no chai available at 830am. Second, their bakery items were mislabeled. Lastly but most concerning, the male barista got our order wrong (gave us regular croissant instead of almond croissant) and our tea order wrong as well. I recently moved into the neighborhood and was excited to get some work done this afternoon at ACP, which is my closest coffee shop. I looked at the reviews and saw that there was the possibility of wifi issues but also saw that the owner had responded and noted that the wifi had been upgraded so that would no longer be an issue. Therefore, I decided to try it out. Once I got my latte and got settled, the internet went out. Another man and I asked the employees if they could help to get the wifi back up and running and for the next 15 minutes they were "working on it" but it was not fixed. This is highly disappointing and seems to be a reoccurring issue. I feel like I wasted my money on the latte since I had gone to the shop to get work done. I certainly won't be returning until this issue is fixed and will instead spend my money where I know I can count on a productive experience. read more

This is one of those gems thats once you find you cant help but think HOW DID I NOT COME HERE BEFORE! The cafe is small and quiet but has a beautiful ambiance to it. Feels relaxing inside to read, study, work or just have a nice cup of coffee to remove yourself from the hustle and bustle of Harlem. The selection of pastries and coffee is comparable to other cafes but its the environment that sets this one apart. Best almond milk cappuccino in the neighborhood. The food is also mighty tasty (try the salmon toast). I love that you can buy floral arrangements from local florist Cape Lily. The wifi is pretty good, but on one morning I spent there had several 3-5 minute outages, so not ideal for uninterrupted work flow. The other customers tend to be super friendly, though, and we struck up a good old fashioned analog conversation while we waited, so that makes up for it :) read more

This cafe has been my go-to spot ever since the first day they opened. It was about time one like it opened in the area. It's cozy, charismatic, beautifully decorated and inviting ambiance makes it hard not to fall in love and be a loyal customer. Since the first day, I was won over by the barista's passion and enthusiasm for coffee. But they don't just offer regular corner store, or big chain coffee, they offer the REAL stuff!! I have pretty much tried everything on the menu, including all the tea's on display. The sandwiches are fresh and tasty, and the loaf's and cookies are perfect for a mid day snack. BUT why stop there!! I love a place where the owner is there to greet you, ask you about your day and prepare your order. Every time I go there I feel spoiled by the kindness and great service. So much so, that when I go to other cafes around NYC, I feel i have cheated on my favorite spot. P.S Anyone who orders an espresso, and expects it to come in a large cup, should not be ordering an espresso, period. read more
