    Latte

the cafe is okay, the espresso is good but when I ordered a latte the milk was pretty disappointing. It's also incredibly expensive for the low quality, and store bought syrups. I would love for this to be a space I can visit for good coffee (and housemade syrups) and get work done, but the coffee is very expensive and pretty mid for the price. My friends dirty chai was $11 lol. The service is hit or miss depending on who the barista is

Very nice layout it feels very home like. The baristas are nice and friendly. And the coffee is amazing.

On a mission to try out all the coffee spots in the area, and tried PROOF for the first time the other day. There's a nice amount of space in the back to post up and read or enjoy a coffee with friends, and local art up on the walls. The coffee to me was okay but unremarkable -- just didn't get a ton of flavor coming through from the espresso. Sizes were generous, though, and service was quick and friendly.

Needed a pick-me-up prior to the Harlem 5K, and this was *more* than that! Got one of the specialty lattes iced-- did the trick, but also tasted *amazing*. I was so pleasantly surprised by the ambiance. Minimalist/Boho vibe, with quite a bit of seating in the back. I also loved that they sell local art on the walls as part of their decor. Out of my price range--but, amazing work. I'm coming back this week for a coffee date, so they're doing something right :)

support small local businesses! I lived in the neighborhood and loved coming here for my daily coffee or tea. They have a great space in the back for working. Their staff are all very friendly and great with all of their customers. There is an older lady who comes in with her walker and usually sits by the door on a low bench. She comes in with her dog and the staff greets them both. I always look for the savory cheese biscuit. That's a popular pastry.

Cute coffee shop and friendly staff but unfortunately our drinks (two different lattes) wasn't served hot and they aren't able to warm up pastries. There was a small selection of pastry and drink options. Very simple offerings. Come here if you want regular coffee maybe. I would recommend going to NBHD. Their ambiance, coffee and food is great!

I've been to ACP a few times, and it just does not sit right with me. More than anything about the coffee or products, which are average, ACP just doesn't feel like part of the neighborhood fabric -- it seems to exist solely for gentrifiers. Each time I've visited, the counter staff and nearly all of the patrons were white or Asian. Prices are uniformly about a dollar higher than other spots in the neighborhood, and cash is only accepted until 2pm. Service is hit or miss, it feels judgy rather than welcoming. This is unusual for Central Harlem, where even staff at bodegas and take out spots will greet you, ask how you're doing, joke with you, etc. Unstable tables are a pet peeve, and both of the back tables are majorly wobbly and not fixable with napkins. The chairs are uncomfortably narrow and metal. Working at a table at ACP for an hour was infuriating, despite the solid wifi connection. My double espresso was weak and seemed more like a single than a double size-wise. My friend's special flavored latte was good, but we were perplexed by the glass it was served it. (What's wrong with a mug? What does ACP have against handles?) Skip ACP. Walk to The Edge, Morningside Coffee, or Lenox Coffee for caffeine and snacks at a place that does it right.

    Chocolate Almond Croissant

Randomly strolled in here on a Saturday afternoon. Cozy ambiance, friendly service, and relatively fair prices. Seemingly good place to do some work too. The chocolate almond croissant changed my life! Highly recommend if you stop by. The flat white was just okay, though I did enjoy the cute art. Looking forward to returning.

After a few days in the city together, my friend and I stopped in for breakfast before parting ways. The vibe was cozy, relaxed, and welcoming, exactly what you want from a local coffee shop. The giant windows lend a ton of natural light, especially for place that almost needs to wait until midday for some sunshine. The bagels absolutely hit the spot: fresh, satisfying, and exactly what we needed. Nothing overly complicated, just solid, well-executed breakfast. They have pastries and sandwiches, as well, but your girl needed a real New York bagel before this trip was through. What really stood out for me, though, was the hot cider on special. It was warm, spiced just right, and comforting for a November morning. I could easily see this shop as a regular go-to of mine if I lived in the neighborhood.

Yes, a kale salad and a guava waffle. Stay with me. The salad is fresh, savory, and hearty, especially with the grilled chicken. Then comes the waffle--warm, slightly sweet, and topped with guava rum butter that melts into every little pocket. Oh my goodness. Taking a bite of the savory chicken and kale, followed by that soft guava waffle, gives me the perfect sweet-and-savory meal. It should not work as beautifully as it does, but it absolutely does. And the brown sugar latte? Always. It's smooth, comforting, and sweet without tasting like someone poured syrup into a cup and called it coffee. The space has the easy, unhurried feeling of a neighborhood coffee shop, but the menu is giving a real brunch experience. It's cozy and beautifully lit during the day--the kind of place where you can settle in and enjoy yourself without feeling rushed. The service matches that energy. Everyone is attentive, kind, and genuinely knows the menu. They always greet you with a smile and give you exactly the right amount of small talk: enough to make you feel welcomed, never so much that it interrupts your peace. The atmosphere, the people, and that guava rum butter keeps me coming back.

I ordered a vegan pizza with some toppings but wanted pepperoni and that wasn't an option. I made a note asking if a substitution was possible, knowing it likely wasn't because of a price difference. I ended up starving and looking for a place in the neighborhood for a breakfast sandwich. Rimar looked good from the outside, there were a bunch of banners announcing them as a "brand new" business having a "grand opening". Once inside, I realized that was probably not true. Looking around, I didn't see any coffee nor was there any kind of posted menu indicating the possibility of breakfast sandwiches. The man behind the counter was friendly enough though, and took my order for 2 bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches on a roll. He also indicated that he DID have coffee. Great! While I was waiting in the store for 15 minutes for my order. I noticed a woman (maybe another owner) casing the place down and staring at everyone who entered. I noticed that the rest of the store sold only a bleak selection of junk food. There was nothing interesting on the shelves! I noticed a man and woman come in, have an entirely transactional conversation and then leave, buying nothing. I noticed two separate hipsters walk in, look around and then walk out. I waited and waited. Finally, my order was ready. Without any register or paper calculations, the man told me my order was $10 exactly. Not feeling too good about that. The coffee was super hot and actually ok, I think he brewed a fresh pot on my request (thank you for that). The breakfast sandwiches were pretty awful. Greasy eggs, strangely chopped and super greasy bacon, you get the picture. I think Rimar could really do much better. They are in a great location without a lot of direct competition, in a neighborhood, that I am certain, would support a nicer deli with expanded options.

The first thing that caught my attention wasn't even the ice cream... it was the names. This isn't your average ice cream shop with "vanilla," "chocolate," and "strawberry." Their flavors have personality! Names like I Live It, How I Get It, Brown Bombshell, and Andy Griffith (their take on classic vanilla) immediately made me smile. It's such a fun, creative touch that fits the neighborhood perfectly. According to the website, their flavors are inspired by Harlem, local culture, and favorite desserts, which makes the experience feel even more unique. The ice cream absolutely lived up to the recommendation. Rich, creamy, flavorful, and worth the stop. Even with a steady flow of customers, the staff kept the line moving, stayed friendly, and made everyone feel welcome. The only reason I'm not giving it a perfect score is the size of the shop. It's tiny! Of course, that's not really their fault, but it can feel a little cramped when it's busy. Overall, Sugar Hill Creamery is a must-visit if you're in Harlem. Great ice cream, creative flavors, friendly service, and a neighborhood gem I'll definitely be back for. Sorry I didn't capture any pics. 4.5/5 stars
