My friend and I came to 1927 for a coffee / tea break. It was so nice and cozy inside, perfect for a cold winter day. Unlike many other cafes in the city, it wasn't super loud and there were a number of people there on their laptops. The seats were quite close to each other, so it was a bit difficult for the servers to walk through, but it didn't feel uncomfortably close. 1927 Cafe Bar Popularr has been a recent find for me. I decided today was a good day to walk up to Harlem for morning coffee. I definitely wasn't disappointed. There's so much to love about this business. The lady behind the counter was so nice and very hard at work between customers. The atmosphere is very comfortable and homelike. The place is clean although a little warm until I sat to rest. They use ceiling fans. The coffee was a little more than I pay but it was excellent. They have a great breakfast menu and other food. It's confusing because the name is also Claire's Kitchen Cafe. In fact I was pleased to see on the business card that they have a location closer to my apartment on the Upper East Side. The sandwich and salad options look great. I'm recommending for the coffee and great service in a homelike atmosphere. They have a restroom too. Five Stars for opening early too! read more

Overpriced mediocre coffee served by incredibly rude people. The kid making the coffee was as dismissive and obnoxious as could get. Could barely even bring himself to take our order and sat there doing the classic terrible clerk thing of acting simultaneously annoyed and disgusted that you had the audacity to give your business to the place he works. Will never ever go in there again and I recommend you avoid it. We went here instead of Dunkin' Donuts expecting a coffee shop experience and the vibe was so toxic and awful that I didn't even want to sit outside and instead fled to Central Park. It has some delicious coffee plus some breakfast food. 1927 Cafe is a pleasant hangout and nice place for doing some work. Has some seats next to the window and a couple bigger tables inside. The prices aren't bad for this kind of thing. Basically it's like a coffee shop or a breakfast cafe. It happens to have a few sandwiches for lunch. The majority of the menu seems for breakfast though. Drip Coffee is the standard coffee. It's $3 for a cup. This is a nice way to get woke. Eat something like a bagel. It's $4.50 for one with hummus. The bagels are limited in variety but usually there's whole wheat. Also they have a few superfruit bowls. These are a lot more expensive than bagels and toast. Have a good morning along with a coffee and a bagel. It has Eli, one of the best baristas you can get. The place also plays cool music. read more

Very cute cafe in the neighborhood. If you ever want to get some work done or get some coffee / small eats, definitely stop by here. Definitely a very cozy place and welcoming. (Please still respect social distancing during covid and don't come with a big crowd if you do end up stopping by. Limit seating for indoors). Their menu has a decent amount of options for drinks and food. Definitely do not miss out on some of their food options. Their Mediterranean Toastics (specially the Salmon & Cream Cheese and the Ricotta & Fig) are ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Their pizzas are a little lacking, but they might be relatively new to the menu, so I am looking forward to more options in the future. My partner and I love this cafe. This place is dog friendly! We walk our dogs, grab coffee (lattes are top notch) and sit outside in one of the many covered spaces. The decor is lively and artistic. By far the best part of the cafe is the barista Eli. He's such a friendly guy and always remembers our names/drinks. He also has the best jams playing - anywhere from old school R&B to today's best hits. Nice to have such a great community spot right near Central Park on a huge corner lot. They also have regular comedy shows which have been really entertaining. Definitely worth stopping by and enjoying if you are in the area or around Central Park. Also - VEGAN treats! Came here for a quick breakfast and drink hang out with a friend. Mid-week, during Covid. The space is cute and comfortable. Understated, certainly not airy-boho chic. Just a simple but perfectly welcoming coffee shop. We ordered two coffees, two teas, and two borekas. Everything was very flavorful. The coffees were great - no surprise with La Colombe; we ordered two herbal teas that were fragrant without being too fruity. And the borekas. Wow! Great new option in the neighborhood on the corner of 112th & St Nicholas. Haven't tried their food, but the coffee and pastries are great and sourced from a local bakery (try the dulce de leche croissant it is awesome!), and they have a couple of nice tables to sit at outside. They have a great $5 deal on a coffee and a pastry in the morning, too. The inside space is beautiful, lots of huge windows and exposed brick, and will make for a great cafe/bar space to hang out in once that is possible again. Was exploring Harlem and happened to find this place.   Being from San Diego, the place could have been situated in front of the beach -- the vibe was very nice and chill, at least, during the time of day I was there. The oat milk cappuccino I ordered was one of the best I've ever had. Smooth, dark notes, only made smoother with original Oatly oat milk. The barista was super friendly and the place had a nice neighborhood feel.
