We ate dinner here tonight. I can't stop talking about how wonderful our meal was! The bread was my favorite! The salad and dressing were very fresh. We had the fried ravioli which was the best I've ever eaten. My husband got the pasta (prepped at the table!) and I had chicken marsala. Everything was perfect and the presentation was beautiful. Thx for hosting a lovely al fresco dinner for my mom (in law) and me while my hubby and father in law went to a ball game for a kick off to Father's Day weekend. Best Bellini I've ever had - so much lighter than expected. Fish was perfection and the chef wasn't afraid to use the right spices! and the spinach/mushroom/roasted garlic combo was excellent. Went here today for the first time with family after having driven past it many times and I'm so glad we stopped. The pasta was incredible and they apparently make it fresh there, which is really nice. Everything we got had generous portions, fresh ingredients, and was well worth the price. The dessert was somehow even better than the food which I didn't think possible, especially the moist limoncello cake and the cannolis. I highly recommend going here for amazing food. read more

First time here on a Sunday afternoon. Great view of the Pasquotank River. Great customer service. We tried the pizza and it was great. Prices are a little pricey, but overall food was great. I just moved into the area and have been hearing good things about this restaurant for weeks. I finally tried it tonight with my mother. We had the mamas meatballs and buried treasure pizza. Both were made fresh to order and really delicious. Being from Central New York, the Italian capital as we know it, things really measured up. I can't believe I've taken this long to review Paradiso. Have been coming here every few weeks since they opened. I'm amazed at the not so great reviews on Yelp. Food is incredibly fresh and specials based on what they get in locally and in season; so yes sometimes they run out of an ingredient but it's been pretty rare. Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing my favorite. Fried Ravioli is on point, but the one filled with sweet potato..... Eggplant Parmesan is the best I've ever had. It's hearty and flavorful with the eggplant actually having a little crunch to it, not soggy from drowning in sauce and oil. My current favorite is Pappardelle with Marinara topped with local micro greens; a flavor explosion. Pizza is great too with a nice thin crust and light on cheese; not thick and floating with oil. I'm vegetarian so I can't comment on the taste of any meat dishes, but my picky husband loves Paradiso and the meat lasagne is his favorite. They now offer dried noodles you can purchase and cook at home. I recently picked up an entire ready to cook meal, complete with chef instructions, and delivered and prepared it to for my homesick daughter 3 hours away. Thanks Chef Merenda! If your going to compare Paradiso to Olive Garden because you think that's Italian, don't come here. This is TRUE FRESH Italian and your taste buds will thank you. read more

Excellent new place in Camden! I love the enthusiasm of the owners and their willingness to try new things. We went as part of a group within the 1st week or so of them opening so they were still working out some service kinks. The food was good the service was OK, slow on drink orders which made them miss out on me and others ordering more drinks. The pasta sauce has great potential but it was overcooked. I'm very hopeful that they keep improving and I can't wait to go back, especially when they open the raw/steamed bar. read more

We were excited about a new Italian restaurant near us. We have been about 5 or 6 times now, enough to get a feel for the place. First off the owners and staff are very friendly and service is good. But portions seems to be getting a little smaller than when they first opened up but still more than enough to fill you up. Don't really care for what they serve as garlic bread. More like garlic pizza crust. Wish they would have garlic bread as an option and wouldn't even mind paying extra for it. I guess they can't do much with the tilted floor ( feels weird walking across it) but the view is a very nice water view. It seems it's a roll of the dice if you get your pasta tossed in the cheese wheel. They roll it around from table to table but I have yet been able to have mine tossed in it. I even asked for it once but another table beat me to it. If there was one thing I would have to pick on it is the sauce. Don't get me wrong it's good BUT ... it changes. When we first went there is was VERY robust is the only way I can describe it. I loved it. Came back again and the sauce was not as robust but very very spicy. My wife could hardly eat hers. Came back again and sauce was totally different. Not bad but different. Was much more saucy like Carrabba's or Olive Garden. I think to be successful they are going to have to have a consistent sauce. All in all though the food is good and we like it and will continue to come back. They are new and I guess it takes a while to work the kinks out. And as an added extra bonus the owner has Paint Nights there. My wife is very interested in that. read more

I've never had shrimp and grits this good, and I've tried them all over the southeast. The sauces are phenomenal. The couple who own it are so nice and treated us like old friends. To top it all off, every inch of the place was immaculately clean, and they had excellent options on tap. I highly recommend it. read more

Y'all...this was so, so, so good! We live in Chesapeake and were down in Gates in Merchant's Millpond exploring. Afterwards we decided to drive into Elizabeth City for some food. It was late afternoon and none of the places I had in mind were open (what the heck?). I jumped on Yelp and this gem of a place popped up. Let me tell you...it was perfection. We sat out on the deck overlooking the water, our server was awesome, and the food was delicious. I neglected to take any pics of our food because I was too busy inhaling it. We ordered the Calamari appetizer, and our entree's were Chicken Marsala and Eggplant Parmesan. Both dishes were divine. They serve only fresh, house made pasta (are you kidding me?!) and oh man, it was amazing! The sauces were the best ever! We also ordered Zeppoli for dessert. YUM! These divine, deep fried dough balls of deliciousness were dusted with powdered sugar and served with 3 dipping sauces...chocolate, raspberry and I think caramel (I honestly didn't dip mine, they were THAT good). The owner came out talked with us for a bit,he's so nice! Y'all, please do yourselves a favor and check this place out. It's so good! We decided to make the trip down at least once a month, just to eat here. I cannot wait to go back! read more

Excellent selection of food choices and everything is homemade right down to the pasta. Service and staff are excellent. Great waterside dining and view of the Elizabeth city harbor. Definitely recommend and if nothing else take a break, stop in for a drink on the water and enjoy the great view. read more

We have dined at Paradiso on a couple of occasions and found it to be absolutely delightful. A lot different from other places in that the owners use a lot of fresh ingredients. The service was warm and friendly and the owners even came out and introduced themselves to us. Both of us enjoyed our dinners, were not rushed, and savored the delightful flavors. read more

Don't let the pictures fool you -- the food is disgusting. The lasagna was burnt and swimming in a pool of grease, yet had no discernible flavor. The shrimp and grits was also very bland, and the shrimp was rubbery. The eggplant Parmesan was just sliced fried eggplant with noodles and tomato sauce and they somehow had no spaghetti available. We also ordered some wine and it had gone bad and tasted like vinegar. Service was somewhat friendly but the food is very low quality. read more

Service is TERRIBLE! We waited 10 minutes for our waiter to take drink orders. Then he couldn't because he didn't have his pen. I pointed out that he had 3 pens in his apron. He stated "yeah, but they're not my favorite pen". ??? There were only two of us. Couldn't he remember two drink orders while he found his pen? So he went to the front of the restaurant and chatted with coworkers. Then wandered to the back room, skipping past our section, to chat with a table of customers. We waited another 5 minutes before we got up and left. The waiter nearly chased me to the door asking if everything was ok. All this being said, the food looked good. Not sure when we may return to try again. read more
