Went there for their soft opening (Jan 21) during my lunch break. Their store is located just east of Main and Pender right in the hear of Chiantown. It's a clean open space with one large table for 8+ and several smaller tables for 2. They source their coffee from local roasters. At the time of the visit they had coffee from Elysian and Pallet on their menu - both excellent roasteries. Food was limited to croissants for their soft opening. Their coffee is decent and the ambience is peaceful. No wifi though, and it's located in a shadier part of the city so it's a little daunting to walk out of there come dark. Not the best place for studying or doing work, but I've come here a couple times and enjoyed it! read more

I actually saw this reviewed on Ayla C's coffee list and since I am on a 100 coffee shops in 52 weeks challenge I thought that this would be a perfect entry to the list. The hours of operation of 8 - 5 pm aren't user friendly for someone who isn't in the area, however, I did manage to hit this up on the weekend. Very clean and bright interior, lots of which space with modest seating room inside. The staff here are amazing. The lady whom took my order was a sweet heart and engaged in conversation with me about arts are crafts. I will admit that I was pleasantly surprised as to how chatty she was since it is so not Vancouver. I love blank cups with stamps. i weirdly collect these. I know that is becoming a hipster trend to do this. The stamp was a robot! I LOVE ROBOTS (and so does my best friend). I turned their Robot mug and colored it and made it into a piece of art (will upload pics later). I wrote on the back, "A rainbow in the sky is natures way of telling you that a robot has not had coffee yet." I have no idea what that means to be honest. I just make sh*t up in my head and write it on blank coffee cups. They didn't have the specialty drink I was looking for, however, they made an amazing chai latte with in house made infused syrup that wasn't too sugary. Nice cappuccino! I like the atmosphere, not the nearest cafe to me but allows people to work on their laptops et al- pretty important to a freelancer. I wish they had a bit of art or plants to brighten the walls a bit. read more

My colleague and I went for a coffee walk and popped in here. I ordered a skim mocha as per my usual. It was really good. My colleague ordered a cheese scone and an espresso. My drink was lovely as was hers. I really enjoyed the decor, very clean and modern. The barista and owner weren't very social or friendly, kind of bizarre for a coffee shop. The only real downfall is there is not a good selection of baked goods. read more

Very open and modern feel to the place. Lots of natural light coming in from the windows. Similar vibe to a lot of recent coffee shops and bars with high ceilings with exposed ductwork, white tile, wood tables with rich stains and welded steel legs, etc. I was playing tourist, and only stopped in for a morning pastry and an Americano, and no complaints with either. If I lived in the area, I could totally see dropping in here with a laptop to get some work done, and there's even a high table or two that you could get some work done at. read more

We popped in for coffee on a sunny Monday afternoon, and had a pleasant experience. Given that it was a warm day, my husband and I ordered Nitro Cold Brews. A cute spot that is minimal but trendy. I thought their coffee itself was really good but the price point was way too high. My hazelnut latte came out to almost $7. It had oat milk, but still. Walking into this place reminds me a lot like Matchstick which was like 3 blocks away. The walls of the place is very white and the place I have to say is very clean. I was in here like about last week meaning they have been open for about maybe 1 month or so. I'm not sure people ever notice it because it's on the side. I walked in at around 9ish 10 and there were a few people siting there. I believe they have WIFI because there were a few Filipino ladies skyping or facetiming. Like usual I wanted a Vanilla Latte but mos of these coffee roaster places don't carry flavoured shots. So, I just ordered a regular latte and added honey to it. Their coffee machines looked really cool. I'm totally in to their coffee machine though. I'm wanting to own an espresso machine one day when I have my own place. Anyways, that's just a side note. The coffee was ok. Like I say I hate it or love it. Their honey was very liquidity though that came from a bottle that you would use for vinegar maybe. Customer service wise, I didn't get much from here. The 2 girls that worked behind the counter were pretty much on their phone when I walked in. I got maybe a hi from one of them but no smile. Overall, I see it a place that's good for students who want to find a coffee shop to study at. It's not a bad place to do that because it's fairly quiet. read more

I'd give this place more stars but: - Customer service needs improvement. it seems really hard for one of the guys to be a minimum friendly. Basically it was just order, pay & go, even though there was no one behind me. - The bright light and nice space kind of inspired me to order a sandwich, something I never ever do. Well, that just reminded me why I never do it. Since the sandwich was not displayed in the window shelf, I figured it'd be done at the order. But thinking back, I'm pretty sure it was prepared already. I had the Boconcini's, which was to my surprise, grilled (that was not written anywhere), but the inside of the sandwich was cold. The walnut sourdough bread from Terra bread was okay. Nothing exceptional, really average. If the 2 slices of boconcini were tasteless, the tomatoes were the worst, totally disgusting. Definitely not worth $7. Drinks are definitely their thing and they maybe should stick to it. I enjoyed very much my Oolong tea and their matcha latte is according to me one of the best in the city. Matcha ice tea really needs to have some matcha taste. It tasted or looked like there was only 1g of matcha in it. Basically it was like drinking iced water. For a free complimentary iced water, I could at least refill. For $4 it was painful :( read more

Come for the coffee, stay for the decor. Lovely café with a minimalist feel. Definitely one of the budding cafés of Chinatown that everybody should visit at least once for the experience. This coffee shop is very close by work, so decided to give it a try. Great staff that really knows their stuff and amazing croissants! My favourite go-to in the morning for a chocolate croissant (still warm!) very nice pastry, melted chocolate inside, a bit of saltiness, bit of sweetness, just ahh! Perfect lift-me-up! I have to start with the coffee and tea are great at Propoganda but I was very displeased with the service I received on one of my visits which will likely make it my last. I came here as we had been shooting in the area and I wanted to try out a different local coffee shop each time, I ordered an amazing coffee but asked if I could get it iced, the barista looked worried but eventually I assured him I was 100% okay with him pouring hot coffee over ice and letting me put my cream in it as long as he could add some liquid sweetner. He did and the coffee was delicious. So much so that I later came back, the same day to get the same thing. Here is where it all went downhill and I seriously think there needs to be some retraining. * let me start by saying I like many of us, have worked for an extended period of time at both coffee and service shops so Id like to think I know how to treat a customer regardless of their request. If someone asks for something to be made and you personally "don't do it that way" just. Do it. When I came back I asked for the exact same thing, a Brazillian roast as an iced coffee please, with two pumps of sweetener. The same barista was there but more had shown up due to it being a busier time of day. I was told "we can't" I explained I had earlier that day and it's totally fine to just make me the coffee over ice. No, that wasn't okay, this other barista lectured me on how coffee works with heat and how it has to be a specific temperature. my friends and I all exclaimed that we understand, however, I am asking you to please just do as I have requested, and pour the cup of coffee, over ice, and hand it to me. No. not going to happen. This went on for a bit before I just told them I no longer wanted their coffee and id just go get a coffee and a cup of ice elsewhere. They said I should do so. This left me in a pretty terrible mood as I still can't get around how what I asked was so unacceptable that they couldn't just do what I asked. I do not think I was asking for the world and on a hot day, requestion a beverage to be poured over ice doesn't seem like a world-ending idea. Propaganda please address this as I am sure I am not the only one and this kind of elitest mentality is what makes people not want to spend their money in your (and other similar) coffee shops. The coffee, shop and decor are lovely and I wish your staff didn't think that because they work at a coffee shop they know everything and we the customer know nothing. Its coffee, and I understand the complexity of it, I appreciate the diversity in each cup, but If I want it over ice with loads of cream and sugar, that is MY choice as a paying customer and just because you prefer it as it comes doesn't make either of us wrong. Very knowledgeable and friendly baristas who, you can tell are very familiars with all the regulars and treats all customers with great respect. Very bright and spacious cafe with amazing aesthetics. My suggestion is, if the barista Lauren is working, ask her to make you a single shot breve macchiato. Trust me, it will make your day. read more

I had high hopes for this cute coffee shop but the service is just horrendous. The baristas never smiled once at myself or the three others in my group. I'm not even sure if the barista even looked up at me at any point. I asked if they could do an iced tea and they said no and then 30 seconds later said "...we have an iced tea on tap. It's passion fruit." Soooo you can do an iced tea then?? Anyway, as much as I just wanted to leave, I got the passionfruit iced tea and never got a "thank you," "have a great day," or anything. The guys are knowledgable in their coffee products. I asked for something smoother and less acidic. One of them suggested the Honduras pour over. Their technique for pour over is good. Coffee was delicious. The Chai latte was latte all the way through. It wasn't just foam on top and tea on bottom. The spices used in the latte wasn't overpowering. The cranberry muffin was excellent. It wasn't too sweet. Service was great. The guys are friendly, willing to strike up small talk, and most of all, knowledgable. Ambience is modern, open concept. Not pretentious as some coffee shops can be. It's also a very Instagram worthy coffee shop. read more

The day I did was the day my search was over. I found my coffee shop. Happy smiling professional staff in a big and bright (almost art studio) setting. Dropped into this coffee shop because I was too early for an appointment I had in Chinatown. Everything all the previous Yelpers wrote about this place is accurate: great food, good ambience, good service, spacious, clean, etc... Previous Yelper's complaints also on the ball: not enough selection. I ordered the Green Tea, plain old green tea. And it was Awesome!!! they don't just give you a cup of tea and a tea bag. They make it to perfection and gave it to me. First sip, and wow, "Soothed the soul". Most places are either bland, no flavour and in a teabag, then I oversteep the tea. The croissant, plain old croissant, was "To Die For"! I just came back from Paris and it rivals Paris! Big crispy, flaky, super fresh. They order the croissants and it's baked fresh on the premises. I like my things being simple and yet, the it touches the heart. A bit too expensive for me but worth it, if you need to escape from the Real world for a short time and cheaper than Retail Therapy. read more
