    Draft Menu - 6/1/26

After a long, sunny midday dip over at Mill Creek Waterfall, escaping the desert heat meant finding refuge and cold fluids fast. Moab is notorious for its predictable, shallow tourist traps that roll out the same uninspired menus to captive crowds, so skipping the main drag nonsense for Proper Brewing felt like the right call. It is a bit of a quirky setup inside. The decor hits you as slightly odd and dated right off the bat, giving off an old-school aesthetic that does not quite line up with modern taproom minimalism, but it functions well enough when you just need to cool down. The service was a bit on the spotty side and carried a rather peculiar vibe, though the kitchen and the bar kept things moving quickly enough for a shorter visit. The real saving grace here lives in the taps and the coolers. Finding a spot in this town that treats classic styles with genuine respect is a rarity. The SLC Pils is incredibly clean with a crisp, snappy noble hop finish that immediately cuts through the midday heat. We leaned into the hoppier side of the list with the Concerning Hops, a beautifully simple and dank West Coast IPA, and the Leisurebrau, which kept the clean drinking streak alive. For something a bit more aromatic, the Blizzard Wizzard held its own, but the standout for me was the Yacht Rock Juice Box. It brings a great tropical, hazy profile that does not fall into that sticky, cloying sweetness trap that ruins so many modern versions of the style. Before heading out, hitting their to-go section is an absolute necessity. They have a killer selection of tall boys ready to go, which is exactly what you want when stocking up for whatever adventure waits just beyond the town limits. We kept the food order simple and focused on the appetizer menu to fuel up after swimming. The Proper Nachos arrived fully loaded with all the standard fixings, including a decent avocado spread and pickled jalapeños. Honestly, they were completely fine, just your textbook, dependable bar nachos that hit the salty craving without reinventing the wheel. The Proper Poutine stepped things up a bit with a rich brown gravy and real cheese curds, layered with an unexpected hit of herbed cream cheese and bacon that added some serious depth to the plate. Dessert, however, turned into a tale of two completely different kitchens. Skip the banana split entirely. They make it with vanilla soft serve instead of traditional hard scoops, which just feels weirdly cheap and results in a melted, sloppy texture before the dish even settles on the table. Truth be told, you need to redirect that attention entirely to the bread pudding. It features chunks of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups baked right into a warm, dense, incredibly rich base, finished with caramel and whipped cream. It is absolutely excellent and easily salvaged the sweet portion of the meal. Even with the quirky atmosphere and the eccentric service, the quality of the beer and the standout dishes make this one of the absolute best options in the area. I would easily drop back in next time I am rolling through Moab.

Back to Proper for grub and brew! Upheaval was a Premium high Octane beer for Proper and the state of Utah! Been 2 years since the last visit, but I knew this place still has the juice. Got the Da Vinci again with the side salad and mi amigo grabbed the Flying Hawaiian sans Buns with fries. Always a pleasure.

Ordered a flight and was severely disappointed. Even though I ordered a variety of styles I was shocked at how bland and practically tasteless they all were. I didnt even waste the calories finishing them and continued elsewhere for some real beer.

We stopped at Proper Brewing in Moab and had a great experience. I ordered the Vienna Lager and a margarita (called the Johnny Utah) along with a Caesar side salad, while my husband ordered a side of fries--and those fries were amazing! If you like crunchy fries, this place nails them. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the space is huge-half of it is set up as a restaurant, while the other side is considered a pub, where you can order drinks without food. Since we were hungry, we ordered food anyway. The bartender was friendly and attentive, and the hostess even brought Luna a treat, which made her day. We stayed inside so Luna could cool off before heading to Arches National Park. The only downside for me was the margarita, which was far too sour for my taste. Still, the overall vibe, great fries, and pet-friendly attitude made this a solid stop in Moab.

Came here twice during our visit to Moab with our dog. First visit was a windy day and we were allowed to sit inside - nice! Patio was nice too. Good beer, good cocktails, good food, great service.

Proper Brewing was awesome!!! Delicious beer (blizzard hazy pale, the hazy ipa, dark Mexican lager) at good prices and the brewery had a very cool design/vibe. Fun bar area, lots of indoor seating with AC as well as a really nice shaded outdoor area that is dog friendly. Ashley and Enrique working the bar were so nice, we enjoyed chatting with them! They had fun games to play, and we bought a couple "make your own" 4 packs (beers to go were mostly $2.5, solid price). Didn't try the food but it looked tasty, especially the buffalo wings. Free parking lot plus overflow lot on other side of fence. Highly recommend Proper Brewing, we had a blast. Moab Brewery may be right in town but Proper's beers were a bit better imo ;) - it's absolutely worth visiting!

Nothing real special. My wife had a pork sandwich and I had a burger. Both were extra loaded with stuff that fell more difficulty. We didn't find that the food was anything special. We started with some fried pickles and we've had a double dozen other places where they were much better than this place. the only thing we can say is that the servers was excellent I really like the bartender who made recommendations and was great to talk to on that. Nothing special!

We were passing through Moab and needed a dog friendly place to eat. We love a good dog-friendly brewery! On a Friday night we were able to be seated on the patio right away. Our server was attentive and very kind. He always asked if he could pet my dog each time he came to the table and I thought that was nice. After a week of vacation I was in desperate need of a salad. This kale ceaser salad hit the spot. I thought the zucchini pickles were interesting - I liked them but I can see where some people may not. But my salad was perfect and I'd definitely get it again! My boyfriend got a burger and he really enjoyed both the burger and his beer. The patio was lovely with string lights and lots of seating. If you're in the area, it's worth the stop!

This was a great stop for the night, especially because we could walk from the hotel next door. Just a typical bar though. We sat on the bar side so we could eat and drink. Service was pretty slow and atmosphere was loud, but we enjoyed the food. Went home with leftovers!

We were recently in the area and stopped in for dinner after a long day of driving. Proper Brewing and Burger has so many tasty offerings to satisfy most food and drink needs so it was the perfect place! The service great and friendly and very helpful too! We were a little hungry but trying not to over order so we got some chips and queso to start and our orders came out shortly afterwards. We got a Proper style burger, and a Sundance kid burger and both were perfectly done and oh so tasty! We also got a salted caramel porter and a dunkel buck which were both delicious! There was plenty of parking out front but we walked over from our room. The staff were helpful and friendly and adequately came to check on us throughout our visit. If we had more time in the area, we probably would've stopped in several more times! The next time we're in the area we're definitely coming back! We hope others will stop in to check them out too! It'll be well worth your time and effort to get here!

The biggest disappointment was the atmosphere. The bar was packed with people who had clearly come to watch the FIFA Men's World Cup quarterfinals match between Norway and England, yet there was no game audio. Instead, one TV was showing golf while the rest had the match on silently. When we asked, we were told the TVs aren't connected to the sound system. That's understandable, but it was disappointing that management didn't have a backup plan. We even heard SiriusXM sports commercials playing, so it seemed like broadcasting the World Cup radio feed could have been an easy way to create a much better experience. Instead, they played an '80s music station while everyone watched one of the biggest sporting events in the world in silence. It felt like a missed opportunity. With a little more planning, the atmosphere could have been fantastic. As it stands, it's a fine place for food and drinks, but nothing particularly memorable.
