Had my rims powder coated on 20 Feb 26. They fail to coat 3 of my wheel caps. Months of texting never answered my calls . As of 3 weeks ago they going out today as of 19 June 26 have not received. This business does a fantastic job at a great price! They powder coated my damaged rims better than they came from the factory. My rims look better than when I got them new. I highly recommend this business! Why buy new rims? You can get used take offs or rims that you like and can afford and have him power coat them. Any color you want . Look at the before and after pictures! The owner was very nice and gave pricing right away . The young man that works for him is very polite and helpful . I'm a disabled Veteran USMC and they understood I was in no rush and just wanted a good job. I thought my rims were trashed by the car carrier. I saw their Instagram advertisements and had to get my aftermarket rims done in a different color. Visited the place, asked about the advertisement and they had honored it since my rims were the proper size to their advertisement. The technician notified that they will be aiming to have the wheels done on a different day instead of same day due to the order capacity and close-to-closing time. Guess what? Word was delivered. Picked them up the next day and the rims were flawless! Paid out and started carrying them out to my car, even the technician helped with bringing them over carefully. Some people reached out and I wanted to respond to the owner's comment and ensure accuracy. I was ultimately refunded... but not by the business directly. I had to go through my credit card company and file a "chargeback" as Proper Motion had stopped responding and did not try to refund me initially. This required me to submit detailed documentation, evidence, and photos of communication. From what I understand, the credit card company looks at the evidence and then decides whether they enforce a refund to the customer. In this case, credit card company investigator looked at the evidence and decided to refund me. Maybe that's what the owner meant by "Ultimately I got my money back." I'm grateful I recorded and had evidence otherwise I would be out hundreds of dollars. I try to be honest and fair. Mistakes happen and generally I give many chances for a small business to make things right before I complain. In this case, I genuinely feel like this business demonstrated no intent to make things right and left me with no choice. If they had offered to do the touch up and remediation work this review would be very different :/ Update 30 minutes later: The owner messages me directly and infers I am poor (see screenshot). While I am grateful the business improved their responsiveness, it unfortunately arrives in the form of insults . Hope this helps to highlight and level set expectations on customer service. Bad shop practice, can't even follow directions to call me back for a quote. I sent photos and only looks at a few without listening to the issue, called multiple times no answer, messaged in FB no response, and only through yelp I hit a response. What would really happen if there was a problem with quality of work? Paint job was fine, but upon receiving my car I noticed the metal Valve caps were missing, I contacted them and they said they "Misplaced" the caps. Further after I notice that the rear Passenger tire is leaking air. After taking it to a shop they show the damage and it seems it was not properly seated on the rim. Had a set of rims powder coated there and they came out decent. Took a little longer than originally promised, 2 weeks? But when picking them up, I asked if he had the center caps that were supposed to be powder coated with them as well (volk flat metal caps). He said he'd look for them and every so often,I'd have to check back via call or text,but would get the response that they're still looking for them. Weeks/months go by, and after awhile, I was figuring they had lost them due to the amount of time it's been, maybe 6-8 months at this point. Figured I had a few more things to powder coat so thinking Uriel would offset or call it even on a pair of brake calipers I was going to have them do. Time comes to do the brake calipers and ask about the caps again,he said they haven't found them yet,and then just asked if I can get a credit towards the brake calipers. He's insistent that the caps are still around and that we can cross that bridge when the time comes. I drop off calipers,he says it'll take a week to do. I give it a little more than a week and call, get a response that they're not done,I ask them when he thinks they'll be done and he says 1 more week. This goes on for each week for the next 2 months where I'm about 50% successful with getting through and each call is met with a, "not done yet" with no follow up comments of when it'll be done. He mentions to call back each week and each and every time I call,there isn't any sense of urgency if intention of care for the job. After the first month, I asked what was taking so long and he mentioned that it hasn't even finished or gone to get stripped yet and that he said it would take time. I responded with mentioning that the original time frame was 1 week and that we were at 1 month. He tells me to check back in a week. There is never any proactive communication and you're feeling like you have to babysit this long, overdrawn order to make them cognizant that it exists. 2 months go by, they're still not done and I ask if I can just pick them up. They say yes,and then i ask about the center caps. They say they haven't found them yet,but found some plastic ones and asked if I can bring my rims that I've had powder coated about a year ago to see if they fit. Off the bat,I know they're not mine since he mentioned they were plastic and we get into an argument where he's adamant that they're mine and his workers believe so too. I mention they're not because mine were metal and there isn't a point in mme even testing them. He says it's 3 against 1 with who is right on center caps I purchased a year prior,brand new,from evasive. At that point,I wasn't sure if I was in the twilight zone because I had no idea why we were arguing about him thinking I was lying about my own center caps that he lost. I ended up picking up my calipers, albeit with some missing hardware, but just relieved I don't have to deal with the bs. 12/3/24 edit: Since the owner wants to responds with lies: Begging? why would I need to beg for a service you provide? If you didn't want to do them, I don't see the harm is declining the work. I asked before bringing them in what you want removed. They came to you without pistons (I have picture proof), and the brake line was recently removed by me as I had to swap them from one side to the other. you're probably mistaking my calipers for someone else's? This shop does great work. Initially, we were very happy with our tires and are always willing to pay for quality. However, that quality is NOT worth the terrible customer service, lack of communication, and disrespectful and rude employees. Not sure if the manager is just as rude or doesn't give a shit how his paying customers are treated. I can understand having a busy workload, but that does not justify dismissing paying customers. We brought our tires back to this shop to be repainted after scratches. The employees informed us that our tires were ready; when they in fact were not finished as we had asked. This lead to us having to make extra unnecessary trips to OC from the LA area three days in a row. When calling to inquire about the status of our tires after being ignored through text, the employee just said "yeah it's ready" and hung up. After finding that my "finished" tires were incomplete the day before, I wanted to ensure that you were doing what I was paying for and to make sure that I wouldn't waste another trip to Anaheim. I ended up being charged double for the "extra" work?? Received no apologies for the misunderstanding and time wasted. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Long story short: Uriel was not able to refinish my 20" Work Wheels as I wanted them to come out. He refunded me at the end, and I'm (somewhat) happy. Now, I have to find time to take them to my other shops to get redone. Long story: 2 of the wheels were near perfect (one front and one rear), the other front wheel had "run" by the lug holes (kind of what happens when you overspray with paint), and the other rear wheel lip completely had different textures and "holes". He said my anodized finish by Work Wheels was hard to work with, and the chemical strip he did was not working well, which is what caused the "holes" on my wheel's surface. It looked like the moon's surface. Upon pickup, he said this is the reason why my wheels took a long time past the original quoted ETA. I was very unhappy that only 2 of the wheels were done closer to my expectations, but Uriel made things right and refunded me what I requested, which was half of the amount that I paid. Customer service - 4/5 -- Could have been better, but everything worked out in the end (refund). Customer service is key. Sometimes the company will have to bite the bullet and pay more costs than anticipated, but those should never affect the overall outcome of the products or services. If it means that you make less profit, so be it. As long as the outcome is what the customer is expecting. You spend money on marketing and you want to lower your customer acquisition cost. Do (almost) whatever it takes to keep a customer happy (especially a new customer) and to keep a customer coming back, then your CAC will get lower -- this is the goal for any business owner. (I found Uriel/PM via Instagram marketing ads). Quality of work - 4/5 -- Could be better with more attention to detail. Time frame - 3.5/5 -- It's okay, not bad, not great. Should update the customer every day if it's not going to be ready, especially if it's past the original ETA and they are expecting it soon. Keeping customers in the loop is appreciated by all customers. Overall, I'll give PM a 4-Star review -- Customer service is what saved PM from having a negative review. In the future, if I decide to give Uriel my business again (if he decides to accept my business again; sometimes people dont want to deal with previous customers that have asked for refunds, etc.), I hope he can pay closer attention to detail and better customer service. Also, now he knows how to deal with anodized finishes from Work Wheels (or any other wheel manufacturer) to sandblast them, versus chemical strip to improve finished outcomes. If he can improve in these areas, I think Proper Motion will get better. I see some others have completely negative reviews, and others have completely positive reviews. Definitely a Bad Experience. Quoted a Bright Finish and Finish is almost indiscernible from original . Cost $660.00. See attached Pictures. Then they argued that the new finish is the Super Chrome Finish. The end result looks like my wheels were detailed and that's about all.
