The food here is amazing, tastes just like a home cook meal. I usually order the omelette with hot-links and the pancakes. And let me just say that it never disappoints. Hash browns are crispy, omelette has enough hot links. The pancakes are fluffy which is a must when finding a great breakfast place. The owners are very sweet people always making sure that you have everything you need for your meal. They really make you feel welcome. This is my fourth time going to Prospect Park Grill. Everything is absolutely excellent. The food is hot when they serve it. The customer service is impeccable. I had three sausages which are a good size and very tasty and some pancakes made golden brown and a egg over easy along with some milk. I give this place a five star and they also have a variety of drinks available. Cook to order no matter what you want for breakfast they have it. We discovered this place in the middle of the pandemic and have tried to come here like twice a month. The shop is run by a cute couple who are welcoming and grateful for our patronage. We always get the veggie burger and cheeseburger with fries. The food is always made to order and very fresh when we walk it the 10 minutes or so back to our home. The veggie patty is organic and has things like kale, beans, nuts in it. The lady will tell you a memorized list of you ask about the ingredients. The cheeseburger at this place is good because it's a good size, cheap, and is cooked well done. Prospect Park is definitely something of an outlier, as John S. describes. It's clearly an old diner, a remnant of a former downtown, located in that first wedge between Telegraph and Broadway, next to a bar and Soul Provisions, and the Both Sides Convenience. One of the few spots offering a dedicated breakfast, and solid lunch options, you know this place is hurting in a Covid world as offices are closed and regulars working from home. But for those of us who did live in the area, this isn't a place to avoid. For one thing, the prices are hard to beat. Not a lot of options offering a sandwich, fries, and a can soda for $10. Sure, most lunches in the area are only $15, but there is something nice about still getting a full lunch for $10. A second thing is the options, and I don't mean all day breakfast either (which is nice as breakfast is awesome). I mean they have some cold sandwiches, grilled sandwiches, and a ton from the grill like burgers, cheese steaks, and even teriyaki plates. The first time I went, I tried the salmon burger. It wasn't bad! Sure, there are a ton of burger and chicken sandwich options in the area, so I felt a salmon burger was different, and I could lie to myself it was healthier. On my most recent trip I was craving a non-fried chicken sandwich and remembered they do a chicken teriyaki sandwich combo. It was really good, I like teriyaki and mayo together, and the chicken was moist and cooked perfectly. I inhaled the thing and then went to town on my fries. Not quite steak fries, but a thicker cut and very tasty. On another recent trip (trying to support local!) I got to try their cheese steak. Wow! Not as big as some of the other cheese steaks in the area, but the flavor! Having been disappointed by Wonder Philly, getting a flavorful cheese steak was such a delight. I honestly am trying not to order it every time I arrive. So if looking for a no thrills, cheap, quick, and tasty option, can highly recommend Prospect Park. This is not a date spot, and definitely not fancy. This restaurant is to be used for descent food at low prices. The portions are slightly smaller than what you would receive at one of the trendier places down the street, but still the value is there. The best deal in the house is the breakfast menu. You can get a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon and coffee - out the door - for $12. They remember you if you frequent the place, but give a big smile and a happy welcome to their establishment. The food is excellent and everything on the menu is "Deelish". I have introduced several people to this wonderful place over the years. The inside is nothing special, but comfortable, clean, and diner style. I stumble on this hole in the wall on my way to take my daughter to summer camp at Moss wood park. Entered thru the back even though they have the front entrance on Broadway. Scanned the menu on top and was greeted by friendly silver haired lady who assumed owned the joint. Prospect Park Grille Actual Rating: 3.5 Stars I used to go here for lunch all the time (my review from 4 years ago is no longer up). I finally returned yesterday to a hero's welcome (actually, no one recognized me, and I heard crickets). I believe the restaurant is run by Koreans. The cashier is friendly (especially to regulars), and the cook works quickly (they're close, but I don't know if they're a couple). The cashier is thorough and somewhat suggestive (I made it clear that I only wanted 1 order of fries). No real pressure was put on me, though. The cashier thought that I wanted my food to go. Wrong! ;) I think she assumed that because I was alone (my invisible friend is now on vacation). Anyway, my food was bagged nicely. I didn't get a receipt, but my total was $14.50 (I ordered a lot- I've never been impressed with the portions here). I was probably charged about $2 for my 24 oz. Mountain Dew. The fridge is big (it usually features about 20 types of drinks), but it was darker than my heart when I came in. As a result, my Mountain Dew could have been colder. There's a small selection of chips. There used to be a good selection of candy, but it's not really sold here now. The breakfast meals are popular here. I'm not sure, though, if breakfast is served all day (it might still only be served until 11:30). It wasn't too busy here, but I had to wait about 10 minutes for my food. (Orders are called out. As another reviewer states, you have to "get up and get" your food.) I sat near the back door. I wasn't interested (I briefly read from a wrestling magazine), but people kept coming by to grab a free local newspaper. The seating capacity is about 35. The tables and chairs are old, but solid. I've been coming to this spot since high school. My order remained the same for years, Teriyaki Chicken and Rice. They never disappointed and were always so friendly!!! Now that I live down the street (walking distance literally), I thought I'd give them a try again. This time I was going to switch it up and go for the BLT on a croissant with extra bacon. My cousin had brought me one and it was delicious! I had no idea the up charge for extra bacon was almost $4, which isn't a big deal if you're actually getting extra bacon. When I got home to eat my sandwich I was disappointed to find about a total of 4 pieces of bacon on my sandwich.
