But once you've circled around multiple times (unless you get lucky), your stress levels will subside looking at cute cartoons of the owner's sheepdog Gurumi. She even showed me real life photos of him and his hair tied back because it was so long it covered his eyes. This dog also reminded me of Max from the Little Mermaid. Anyway, what a cute logo for the coffee shop! Sunlit windows are my favorite spots in any cafe, so I found a bench by the window inside and waited patiently for my hojicha latte with oat milk ($8). I wanted to try the savory pastries but they had run out. I chilled for maybe 30min enjoying my hojicha. I liked their hojicha but tbh there hasn't been a hojicha I didn't like. I think roasted teas have just the right amount of savoriness. FUN FACT: I learned recently that hojicha lattes have more caffeine than loose leaf teas because lattes use crushed whole leaf powder, so you're consuming the whole leaf rather than steeped tea leaves. If only I worked nearby, I would be a frequent customer. But because it's a ways away from me, I'll stop by on occasion. read more

What a super cute, tiny, cafe! You wouldn't expect this if you were driving by and in a rush, but take a moment to slow down and enjoy the scenery. They have a VAST selection of drinks to choose from, sourcing beans from all over the world. The shop is so cute and there is a lot of outdoor seating. They don't have a lot of staff, so the drinks may take long, but definitely worth the wait. I can't wait to come back here during the quiet mornings in Oakland! Definitely a secret gem!! read more

Visited on a Saturday around noon. The line wasn't too long but most seats were taken and the cafe seemed decently busy. Olivia had a relaxed vibe with a record playing in the corner and most customers quietly on laptops or chilling. Some selection of pastries had also sold out by this point as well, which was a bummer because they looked tasty! Staff seemed to rotate between taking orders and working on drinks, so no one was standing around idling - everyone seemed to have their hands full while I waited for my order. And that's my one complaint with this cafe - I waited quite a bit, nearly 20 minutes for my drink. When I saw the couple in line behind me get their drinks first I realized the barista making my drink was having a convo with a customer about coffee... he seemed very into this community and craft but I was wondering if I had picked the wrong cafe at this point... And then I got my drink and all was forgiven lol. I ordered the banana latte with banana foam and bruleed banana. Was it an excessively long wait? Yes, but was the latte worth it? Absolutely. I had absolutely no idea that this place existed. I took a wrong turn one day and ended up out in front of this place while I was looking on my phone for directions. It's so cute and adorable that I decided to go in. I'm so glad I did! The staff here is very friendly and helpful. We talked about what I should order. So glad we endured the line at opening to try out this cute little coffee shop! But let's be honest they had me at their playlist - one BTS song after another! Even though the line was out the door for their grand opening morning, we only waited about 30 mins from getting in line to receiving our order. Seemed like they had a good system going! Can't miss out on any opportunity for Korean banana milk! It added perfect sweetness to my latte and I loved the pretty caramelized banana on top. The pistachio cream with real pistachio crumble on top was delicious! Just wish we could've paired with the pistachio milk but they were out. Such an adorable new coffee & flower shop in the East Bay! I was meeting up with a coworker for a cute galentine's date and this was such a treat. It happened to be Valentine's Day weekend, so the flowers were flowing and the designers were hard at work in their little studio space inside the shop. They had plenty of premade arrangements available for purchase and they were stunning. They also have the option to pre-order. Definitely not your average flower shop arrangements. We got to meet Olivia herself, and she also specializes in wedding design, so she selects premium flower varieties to work with including sweet peas, ranunculus, garden roses, lisianthus... just to name a few. Now on to the coffee & treats! I got the iced rose cream latte and my friend got the banana cream mocha with banana whip -- both were fantastic! All the drinks have stunning presentations as well. We also got ham & cheese croissants (warmed) and the pistachio tart which was very tasty. We sat outside on the patio to enjoy the cooler temps and really loved our time spent here. Got to stop by on Saturday and they had a pretty steady flow the whole time we were there-amazing for them! They have lots of yummy sounding drinks, it sounds like their banana drinks might be one of their most popular but I tried the iced pistachio cream latte (it only comes as iced), I'm gonna have to try the banana drinks next time. I also needed a little snack so I got the raspberry chocolate croissant-it's sooo pretty! It was very buttery, flakey, and was veeeery filled with chocolate and raspberry (I couldn't finish it). What an off-the-beaten path, absolute gem in Oakland. Traveled here on a weekday morning to meet a friend and found metered parking outside. This spot is incredibly tucked away, so if you're wondering 'am I in the right place', you probably are :) We checked the menu outside, and were in such complete delight with unique coffee flavors like the rose cream latte and iced banana cream mocha with banana whip. The brekky pastries/dessert menu also is quite fun and we ordered a warmed ham/cheese croissant and pistachio tart (check out the pretty plates they use in the photos). So divine and aesthetically pleasing. Next time I can't wait to try the Vanilla Bean Cream latte and the Banana Milk Latte (which has a caramelized banana on top!) Because of heart day, there were single-stem roses (cut and wrapped individually with a pretty tissue paper, bow, and individualized clip-on water for traveling which I haven't seen before), so I decided to treat myself with a 'celebrating me' purchase. Such beautiful rose color hues of soft reds and pinks. This Korean-style coffee shop is woman-owned and just lovely. Oakland is stepping up its cafe game with the addition of Olivia coffee and flower. They have exclusive beans from a Korean roaster and pastries and desserts from One 65. I ordered one of their pour overs which is what they specialize in and it was really good. I'll definitely be back to try their other beans. I ordered their pistachio croissant which was decent. This place does take a while. I was there for around an hour before receiving my food and drink. There are seats but the tables are super tiny so not really convenient if you get a pour over set and a croissant like I did, and definitely not enough to have a study session. Other than that, I don't have many other complaints and I'm excited for their grand opening which I heard will also include a section for flowers. read more

Well worth a trip to come visit Olivia's. Stopped by before an appointment at the hospital next door a bunch of staff were there getting an afternoon pick me up. Drinks were made super fast and all presented pretty and with such care. The baristas and cashier were all very sweet and explained the drinks or pastries to the customers with patience and an upbeat attitude. 10/10 service. I got the vanilla sweet cream latte with a dark roast espresso. I love the rounded bottom of the cup and the vanilla flavor and sweetness level with the dark roast. $8 is a little pricey but I think with the care they put into all of their drinks, I understand the pricing vs in comparison to other places that just uncharged just because. Super cute cafe! I got the hojicha latte with oat milk and 25% sweet (they use a molasses sweetener I believe). They also have boichik bagels back in stock and I tried a plain bagel with kimchi cream cheese - super yummy! I'll definitely be back to try more things from their menu. As a note, there is construction happening by the hospital across the street so it was difficult to find street parking in the area. My partner said the hojicha tasted like it was overpowered by the banana and milk. He barely tasted the hojicha. I loved the flowers they were selling. They were beautiful. As a frequent matcha drinker, I was excited to try this new spot in Oakland. Most of the great matcha spots in the bay are located in SF or Berkeley. I know it's only January, but I just found the best latte I've had all year!!! The vanilla cream foam latte is literally everything I could ask for - dark roast, strong, not too sweet, cold foam, and strauss whole milk so it's super rich and creamy. The matcha einspanner was also amazing. There was a line out the door an hour before closing but it moved pretty quick, especially with just two baristas making everyone's drink and one cashier. First of all, the baristas are soooo nice! this spot was pretty busy on a Monday morning, and there were only two people working to make the drinks and take orders. The exchange was just really pleasant and lots of smiles were given, so I appreciate this energy early in the morning and early in the week. The iced banana milk latte came with a brûlée'd banana, which was fun and actually quite delicious. The drink itself was the perfect blend of the banana milk + strong coffee, and I definitely liked this more out of the two drinks. Olivia Coffee & Flower seems like a popular spot for people to converse and catch up with each other, but we did see one table with their laptops out doing some work. Cute cafe in Oakland that also serves as a flower shop! I came here on a Tuesday morning at around 10:30am and tried three of their drinks and two of their pastries with my friends. There was basically no line to order, despite the cafe being decently busy, and we were able to get our drinks and pastries around 10 minutes after ordering. We tried their Matcha Einspanner, Matcha Rose Einspanner, Matcha Banana Cloud Latte, Chocolate Banana Croissant, and Pistachio Croissant. The matcha taste for all three of their drinks was not too strong, and the prominent flavor for all of them were their additional flavors (cream, rose, and banana milk). Not the best I've had and more-so in the green milk category of matcha lattes I've had in the Bay. The pastries were both from the bakery One65 in SF and were decently flaky but a bit too sweet for my liking. Despite the food and drinks themselves not exactly being my favorite, the presentation of their items and the decor of the cafe were beautiful! The workers were also super sweet and gave us a sheet of their stickers when we asked if we could get extras. The hojicha cloud was light fluffy and had a hojicha flavor and the banana milk was smooth and not too sweet. They have a small patio outside overlooking seasonal foliage and landscapes as long as indoor seatings. Serving South Korea coffee beans, they have an extensive range for their drink menu. After choosing your drink of choice (coffee), considerately they ask if you would like it with the medium or dark roast. Their drinks were lovely. Banana mocha is a sweeter treat whereas the cream latte is more foamy. They were out of the pistachio milk so make sure you ask them what's in stock as it might change daily. Don't skip out on their food options as they were delightful. Simple ingredients but each bites were full of flavors. For the lox bagel, you'll get more lox if you order it open instead of closed. Pickled red onion was a great touch. The egg sandwich was also thick and yummy! They were out of the Brie and fig toast as fig season ended so hopefully I'll get to try that next time when it's back! Lastly, I loved their interior. Green, gold, wood and floral accents all around. Especially love it when their record playing is playing - such a mood. What a delightful little café tucked away unassumingly in a small three-story residential building! I, too, was lured here by the Chronicle. At 1 PM on a Tuesday, there was no wait. The inside is charming and calming, and service is outstanding. My to-go banana milk latte was carefully prepared, and almost as pretty as the ones in glass cups that they serve if you are staying. I did not expect the big piece of caramelized banana, but that made it a superlative drink, and a cute reindeer toothpick was festive. As another reviewer said, before they brew your espresso, they ask if you want their light or dark roast. I went with the dark, which was the one recommended when I asked. I even picked up a birthday gift for a friend who has a flower garden--a nice set of flower shears. I'm so bad at names so I wish I'd remembered the name of the staff member who offered to wrap it and such a beautiful job, but that made the whole experience wonderful. I parked in one of three open metered spaces on the street, but I imagine at peak time parking would be a challenge. I Didn't realize this coffee shop was so close to me. Walked in on a Thursday around noon and not too busy. They have outdoor and indoor seating that is super serene. Inside was nice and quiet which I enjoy about a coffee shop. It had both enough flavor coming from the banana milk and enough strong flavor of coffee. I was concerned the milk would overpower the coffee but it didn't.
